I remember reading that interesting story and many others in David Ben's great biography of Dai Vernon. There is, in the book, a rare photograph of Allen Kennedy taken on Christmas Day,1954. What a pleasure it is to hear The Professor talk about the extraordinary individuals that he met in his life.
I can listen to this man all day, absolutely captivating, I saw everything he was talking about and the stories was hilarious. Where can I get 4 hrs of Dai Vernon stories?
@@Tyrantus4 Let's not bush around the beat. Norm is the thing that aged poorly. Because he's the one that died, right. The comment would be fine, if Norm wasn't dead! Norm - He died!
@Dougal Graham hello, friend. At the 2 By 3 millimeter size that my phone shows your profile pic it looks like, it's either, a photo of Ricky Jay, or you look like Jay. So, whether for; your great taste or your astonishing good looks, you deserve congratulations. So, kudos, to you!
everyone seeks acknowledgement......its just a rare few who want to remain anonymous....unless they are total criminals.....that is why Vernon enjoys talking
I love how, at 7:25 he says, "I don't want to go into...it'd take too much time to go into detail" Wait, what? We got nothing BUT time to listen to you go into detail! Prof just didn't want to explain how the guy did it. If anyone could center-deal though, the Professor could. But we'll never know cuz the gutless and dimwitted interviewer wouldn't ask appropriate follow up questions.
Actually, the Kennedy center deal is published. If you watch the one on one teaching of Jason England on the center deal he discusses the deal(he mentions it to be exact, he does not teach it, but I believe there are references for that type of deal at the end of the video.)

Marlo was great....but he did not invent the center deal. If you asked Dai Vernon he would tell you it was invented by Allen Kennedy. The man he speaks of in this story.
If Marlo had invented the Centre Deal, he would have published hundreds of utterly pointless ways to do it; sourced from his notebooks and dated 30th February 1742.
@@BarryAllenMagic He obviously did not invent it. Dozens of variations can be found in Seconds, Centers, and Bottoms. They’re great. People criticizing Marlo for his variety miss it. Marlo was great.
