    "The purpose of air suspension is two-fold: Maximum Passenger Comfort and to Maintain Proper Ride Height of the Vehicle to Ensure Safety"
    .....riiiiiiiiiiight. and my big ass spoiler is for safety too.

      He's right. Air ride is more comfortable than coil springs. And have you ever loaded your trunk with stuff to the point that the rear end sags and the front raises? Or seen other cars loaded to that point? Air suspension keeps the car level no matter how much weight is in the trunk. Therefore reducing the likelyhood of damage to the exhaust system and loss of vehicle control.

      Do u think is normal to keep hearing my air compressor traying to rum for example every time I start my truck the air motor is tuning like 30 seconds and them after while I'm driving is doing same thing for about 10 seconds

    • @tjhaywood100
      @tjhaywood100 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      one way lawn service you may have leaky air springs. Depending upon how old they are. They may have dry rot around the fold at the bottom of the bag.

      +Chris Haywood my dealer replace them last week since I purchase the truck there but I have bring the truck 2 times to them last time they put new air ride pump and new shocks to but I was telling them is like they haven't don't anything noise is same while I'm driving and after turn my ignition key and after I start my truck load noise all the time.

    Is it possible to replace the air compressors with a canister of high pressure gas. Example would an electric car where you want to save ever amp you can. (But could attach a compressor to refill the canister when the car is charging).
    The system I had thought of instilling would let the user raise or Lower the car when needed with minimal energy loss wile driving)

    I've driven Lincoln Town car my while life and it's the most pleasant ride ever ... air air air ride .... love it BUT my last 1999 with 260,000 gave up on and spending about 60.00 a tank (18gl) every 2 weeks I just had to think outside the box.... so now I drive a 2015 Honda Fit lol .... oh I feel every bump the road throws at me lol ..... tank is only $20-$24 every month lol ... anyways suspension wise air is so much comfortable .... one day I'll get another one .... they are not making town cars anymore tho ....

      The air ride likely will not ever work and you will ride with the car sitting on the frame.

    they never really showed the part that tells it to be at certain height or if the car is sitting low or high.. the most important part.. HEIGHT SENSOR. oh ya Chris was playing height sensor!

    • @billgredick3762
      @billgredick3762 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is important to understand what triggers the air ride when it not level. The instructor can start out showing the hi and low air ride pegs as I call them and where they are mounted. Then when the car drop it triggers of a signal to the computer. The computer tells the compressor to "get your butt moving". Those parts he did not address are the 1st step in the way it works.

    Citroen is laughing so hard on this "inovative feature" ds 1955 had all you see here nad not with air wich is known to be unreliable

    • @thaaztecs138
      @thaaztecs138 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In order for the latest Citroen suspension to work there is use of not only pneumatics, but also hydromatics along with the main mechnanisim (if I'm not mistaken). If pneumatics is proven to unreliable, why do they make use of it? Just curious.

    • @tjhaywood100
      @tjhaywood100 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That depends upon what car you're talking about. I've had three Lincoln Mark VIIIs with air suspension. Never had any trouble at all out of any of them until they passed 200k miles.

      Yep. A lot of high end vehicles have air ride now. Air suspension is very nice when it is working properly. I never had any real issues with my Lincoln Mark VIII air ride. It worked flawlessly 99.9% of the time.

      @judiadalin250 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi chris do you think the battery will affect the Air suspension because i got a Lincoln mark VIII the battery warning sign was flashing all the time(it might be the battery needs to change) then all of a sudden the rear wheels sagged while the car is running' Thanks'

    I see why all Lincolns always sag down and drag their frames on the ground. You should fix the sagging problem first before trying something new from outer space.

    • @Ranger4645
      @Ranger4645 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They put the air suspension in some Crown Victoria and Mercury Marquis as well. It's just easier to fix the problem with the spring coil replacement kit. No more sagging or expensive repairs.
