- Today we are going to talk about how to make your sur ron x fast! When it comes to power mods there are soooo many different options and today we pretty much covered from a-z everything you need to know to make your sur ron fast!

The stock Sur Ron was engineered with a pretty conservative safety factor so you can definitely get away with some additional power, but how much will be largely determined by your riding style and weight. If you keep adding more power then at some point you will need a stiffer frame, swing arm and a host of other suspension and frame components to handle the additional stress. That adds weight which adds even more stress. It's a snowball effect and I think people miss the point that the Sur Ron is successful because it went the opposite direction. By having a small motor it can have light frame, wheels, suspension, etc.
I own one myself, everything is plug and play, since you don't have turbos and your just replacing the battery, motor, and power controller, surprisingly your not gaining that much extra weight, a small suspension adjustment would do the trick
Anyway, surron lb is way to light to use more than 18kw effectively, I run 15 kw and it's plenty enough, can go up to 21kw but unusable, maybe for drag racing

ebmx are one of the best battery out there, nice metal construction instead of heatshrink, and they use pouch cells which are more energy dense then regular cells. Most people think because they use pouch its a lipo , but thats not the case at all. its like a 18650 but in a pouch instead of a metal can.

I also run 12000kw I do watch my temp I usually get about 140 temps on hot days that’s doing real long 45-50mph drives...but 180f is about when magnets can mess up and another note Surron temp sensors suck lol so just use your judgment if you can’t touch the motor it’s to hot lol...

if you are planning to use a other controller , go with a 72v battery, your system will run cooler because the amps are lower on a higher voltage system. And its the amps that generate the heat inside the motor. Just look at the kw/h (V x AH)
Technically its resistance that creates heat. Less resistance = less heat
@@cheeko_914 More amps = more heat, more heat = more resistance = needs more amps = more heat, 72v runs cooler because it needs less amps for same power thus heating slower and less

That other kid should go with GLE, it comes with variable regen brake which really helps the life of your brake pads. Also imo the app is the better of the 2 and more customizable.
Agreed! I rarely use my physical brakes now and only use the thumb regen for offroad riding. Thumb regen can lock up the tire at slower speeds which is good but isn't made for a quick stop at 40mph.
Wish I could afford the bigger battery/controller so expensive to get to Canada

Yeah right they also lock your controller, so if they go out of business, you will have a 2000dollar controller without access to it 🤭
Yeah they definitely don’t have the best tune or user end capabilities. GLE is a much better option.

@@simoncase6312 I have both ebmx and gle, user app is much more intuitive with gle and they don’t make you pay extra for it. They also incorporate a variable regen brake. You can run gle without a big screen on your handlebars. There’s various reasons why I’m not as impressed with ebmx.

Running a KO motor with 60v 51Ah Chi Battery and a bac4000 tuned from EBMX and 52T Sprock. 4 days ago I got a consistent 85 MPH.(GPS )

Edit: my 85mph was because I had some tailwind. Wind, because the bike is so light, makes a HUGE difference. I got 92 mph a couple weeks ago (30mph wind help) .verdict: no wind, flat ground, 74 mph.

@dfmu2669 bro don't be fooled by these mad prices just because they're stated as "e bike parts" the majority of the SurRon x is just downhill/mountain bike parts anyway, So parts like bars, stems etc etc are the same fitting as the SurRon X. I literally seen someone buy a decent downhill mountain bike in good clean condition for like 500 and used the fox 40s off of it which people are paying upto like 2 grand for just because they're worded "for SurRon" even though they're just the exact same 1s that go onto a mountain bike🤣 The boy also used the bars, Stem, brakes and few other parts off the mountain bike for his SurRon then sold the rest of the mountain bike in parts and in the end it only ended up costing him a couple hundred pound for all the upgrades that people are fooled into paying thousands for just because they're worded for SurRon🤣🤣🤣
My ebmx 72v is doing good so far I got about 350-400 miles on it last a good 40 miles doing 25-60mph riding to work the hard pulls drains the battery lol

60v battery with higher AH and then put a larger sprocket on the wheel so it has more torque. Also avoids messing about with an expensive controller, but hey if moneys not the problem then screw it!!! check out my channel ive got osme e scooters and shit. Hoping to get a kaabo wolf king gt pro lol.

How fast does a sur Ron go with the wire not cut? And how fast does it go with the wire cut?
32 mph no cut and I think 45-55 cut depending on weight

I'm still on stock and weigh 190. Haven't cut wire and it tops out at 30mph in both eco and sport. I use the brake lever programming to bypass speed limiter and tops at 30 on eco and 45 on sport.

You didn't mention anything about sprocket size when it comes to teeth count my guys. I know those can improve speed even on a bone stock bike with just a bypass mod. Also upgrading your stock chain to an aftermarket one check out "Juiced Joyrides" video

Yea we didn't, cause to make it faster with a sprocket you need a smaller one than stock and only one made is 42 tooth but that has way to low torque, increasing top speed with a sprocket is pointless but getting a sprocket to increase torque is worth but this video is not about that its about power mods and sprockets don't count, also wanted to talk about stuff that no one covers on here everyone has a video about sprockets

They don’t make tires for the Surron or Talaria that will stand up to 100 mph.

I have a KO kit installed. It can actually run with ASI controllers.
Running a KO motor + controller w/ 72v chi battery, surronshop extended swing arm, dvo onyx front fork, arma MX rear shock, woodys wheel works 12" mini motos etc.. entire bike is modded front to back.

@@1a2a53 no I'm using the KO controller but I have a bac8k on my other bike. Tbh I was in a riding accident and am fresh out of surgery so I haven't tuned it yet cuz I have 7 weeks of recovery still.

Stock motors can handle 10kw easy ur not getting anywhere near 100mph. QS is worse than a sur Ron lighter also ko is good but can’t do the 30kw it says
