He was 20 years old at the beginning. His voice was raw and unskilled at that time. But, he started voice lessons and quickly began developing his depth and range. He continued with those lessons for many years until you heard him sing this song. And he continues to grow and improve with each video he produces. Thanks for watching this today and for your support of Dan.
Thank you for your comment and for walking Dan's journey with us. A special gift and I am grateful to be part of his journey. Of course, let's not kid ourselves, Dan could deserve a lot more recognition and a lot more with his vocal range and presence. But he would be forced to do what others want or want. Dan's voice is indescribably beautiful. Naturally, he had to learn and practice a lot to use his voice perfectly. But this voice could already be heard in the first video. I think he was 20 years old in the first video because the video is 13 years old. He looked younger then than he was, and that's still the case now and will remain so.

Maria, Yes Dan's speaking voice may sound the same, but if you dare to listen those early audition tapes, you will understand why Dan so often says he is not a "talented" singer. He is a SKILLED singer. He leaves some old , in his words, " cringe" videos up.
He wants to let people know that if you WORK hard and listen to sound advice, you can become the singer you want to be. Here are 2 of those early videos. So glad he kept the vision he's had since he was a child. He's said he was singing before he could speak.

I love all your reactions to Dan,and totally agree everything you say about him. I am so pleased I discovered Dan...his Amazing Grace just blew me away,and I cannot go a day without listening to him. I have two daughters with special needs and they too love listening to and watching Dan. He brings so much joy to my very stressful life,music has always been a vital part of my life,but Dan just takes it to a whole new level...he is The Best!!
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Love to see how much he has grown & matured over time. He's AMAZEBALLS!!!!! I would love to hear him do more songs like this. I would love to hear him do "Color My World" by Chicago. He would KILL IT!!!! Not to mention him playing his harmonica at the end of the song. It would be EPIC!!!!!!!!

He was just 20 in the very first video he did. He had all of the raw talent and passion back then, and now, he's showing us the benefit of those plus lessons, hard work, dedication, and a plan will equal success and a dream coming true. Nice reaction!

He's filled out a LOT more- LOL! Good grief in his latest video he's even more buff than usual ! Love this montage of his progression and your reaction! I only discovered Dan about 4 months ago - but my best new discovery by far for last year!

I’m just so happy that I came across Dan’s videos. Started watching out of curiosity and was amazed by him and his incredible voice! He sings a lot of songs I used to listen to and loved. Have to say there’s many he’s done that I like his version better. His phantom of the opera….just wow!
Dan has spoken about his change, during the time he has been sharing via UTube. He works out, he has s particular diet, he has taken voice and breathing lessons. He us focused in what it is he wants, ehich was why he chose this particular song.
He has an amazing attitude, as well as his Spiritual, Christian Faith.
He has had sevaral losses in his family, which can bring his emotions to the surface when singing. He literally feels the music, and wants us to feel it also.
I think he succeeds in that respect.

This was him talking when he first started out introducing his DragonForce singer audition. Dan is singing the song more recently. If you want to hear him sing back when he first started you need to go see those videos.

If you look right in the bottom left corner you will see the song his singing and the year it was recorded i.e the first image was "Daniel" at 21yrs old.
Dan was obviously a "late bloomer" as he looks younger than his age at that time. The short hair may be explained by his army service. He has worked very hard to get where is is now, but I think he deserves so much more! Thanks for your reaction.

I just looked through your Dan Vasc playlist twice and I’m utterly shocked that you have not yet reacted to Dan’s “Black Wind, Fire and Steel” yet! His audition for Dragonforce was in 2010, the young Dan. Him singing in this video is 2018, from 2010 to 2018 there were 100 videos and he celebrated. It's 5 years of this video and how much better it has gotten in every aspect. Tks Maria, I love you 😊❤
This is the Hercules song only better and believe me I spent many hours at Michael Bolton concerts and loved every one of them. But Dan’s version? Epic!!

He started I think about 12 or 13 years ago I’m sure someone will correct me I’m glad I would like to know for sure
His speaking voice is the same, yes, but I have to disagree about his singing voice…Dan’s singing voice has grown in leaps and bounds. Listen to the first video on his channel where he auditions for Dragonforce. You’ll immediately hear a massive difference. Dan himself says it’s cringe, but he leaves it on his channel as a reference so if people say “it’s super easy for him, he was just born with a naturally amazing vocal talent” he can show them how much of a hard grind it was, working hard, training his voice daily. He talks sometimes about the difference between (effortless) talent and a finely honed skill which requires thousands of hours of work.
