Lugh has fostered me out several times over our decades together. Brighid, the Cailleach, and Manannán were the longest stints. Re your question, I stay connected by tending a shrine in my home, contemplative time when I walk outside, being mindful of signs, and occasionally via dreams or divination. Keep up the good work!
I have been using Ogham on a weekly basis to get a grasp of how the week will go and what's needed to be done. Occasionally, I will use Ogham to ask specific questions or do meditation, meeting up with Manannán, who is my main deity and kind of a teacher for me. Being outdoors when I can is also nice to communicate. It's interesting to hear about seagulls being Manannán's crows. I heard about herons and pigs being sacred to him and for me personally also grey herons are a sign from him. We are lucky because we live near a lake with grey herons calling the edges their home. Also I can see grey herons flying by my office window from time to time, so I have the feeling, Manannán is checking in with me from time to time, saying hi.
That cleaner has it out for you! I'm still very new to the path and working out my ways. I speak to Her daily, but am still learning to listen. Divination is working well so far (all two days I've tried it so far). I'm building my meditation skills back up before attempting your guided Morrigan journey again... Although now I've said that I want to try it again right now. Or at least go to the beach (the beach was quite exciting as I realized it was my happy place to hide in my head when stressed out when I was younger. I have a sofa there, because why not). This is very rambly, apologies. Thanks for everything you do!
I am just now formalizing my connection to Spirit. I have promised to get up early in the morning 5:00 am to spend an hour meditating, to sit quietly and listen to for Spirit. In the past I would have fleeting moments engaged with my Matron but have been called to regular contemplation. I find that the early morning is the best time for me as the world outside is quiet and calm. I am well rested and my mind his also quiet and calm. Thank you for the suggestion of your meditation information. I look forward to exploring your content.
Hi Lora, well i half arsed my irish connections to land and sea gods/goddess dieties etc coz i was tryna deal with the usual Persian Greek and native American lives before and trying to put them at bay while i connected with my country and its greatness, although I seen a lot over the years it really all started with one of ur weekend courses in journeying and then opened up more with ur irish magical course 💪❤ but as a 5yr old passing over the liffey and seeing a giant bearded man staring up at u surrounded by seahorses i always new water was a special place for me and our lakes and rivers are teaming with otherworldly beings and tramore is just ❤🔱
Some point make me shocked here You have say it but I will sent to you my question about it in email because is was personal to me so I can't asked in comment here , And I hope I found answer from you 🙂 And am really appreciated about all your work , You're really amazing Beannachtaí 🙂💚💚💚💚
i feed the neighborhood birds, the most frequent visitors are crows, ravens, jays and doves. but the process of gathering the supplies, cleaning the feeders and water basins, making sure the bee stones are in place, is all just a quiet moment to give my time. lately they're more demanding of my time so i'm studying and practicing physical and mental self care daily. i usually get mental flashes that definitely don't feel like me if i'm being particularly obtuse.
I try to notice synchronicities and when I do, I try to meditate on them and often I will journal something or draw something. I will do something that is kind of along the line of automatic writing. Badb has given me some prophetic prose and poetry through this. I also try to honor and venerate the Great Queens at their altar even if it’s just minute or two acknowledgement with a couple candles. I also sometimes utilize other types of divination lucid dream, use pendulum, tarot etc...
Last week I decided to notice synchronicity, and the same day heard two unrelated instances of "down the rabbit hole." Decided to pay attention and see if a third appeared. It did, in the form of a 2 year old TH-cam comment, which led me to watch a video. The first thing the person started talking about was how important it was to pay attention to synchronicity. I am now a fan.
Hi Lora, you asked about hearing from deity. For me the keys seem to be daily meditation or journeys, divination, and "being mindful of signs, and occasionally via dreams"--as Brian Walsh says below. Sometimes music and scenes in shows or movies speak to me. Messages can come through other people, unbeknownst to themselves, for the most part.
I have to listen and be mindful of what happens about me. I actually am learning to play the tin whistle and offer up music to The Mórrígan. Where I am from in the States, it is very uncommon to see Crows or Ravens. So I take heed when they appear. I am learning to follow them or where they lead. Sometimes I don't and I find she becomes unresponsive after. So definitely need to follow those signs everytime. 😅
I work with the Morrigan predominantly but I also work with Brigid, Dagda and Cernunnos. I figure she has no issue with it, considering she's my primary Goddess, but working with her husband and (possibly?) daughter wouldn't bother her. Cernunnos is a given as a green pagan, but still I don't work with him and dominantly as Morrigan. I also see it as being 'on loan'
The Morrigan allows Mannanán Mac Lir in my life as well. I believe that Morrigan is open for me to experience other Gods and Goddesses because she knows that I can love her and others.
I am currently in a small crisis of faith. I am a Traditional Witch but have not had the time to spend doing as i should, so i am currently on Sabatical till i can get my proverbial shit together. But I believe that other Goddess are calling me. I have always had a love for and appreciation of Epona and Macha and Morrigan. I have always been very careful about not promising something if I do not feel i can fulfill My end the Gods are not ones you want to ignore. I think I am going to take your suggestion to have a time to meditate on what my service is about.
I am not entirely sure about her. I cant jump into the sea now with everything closed and we have to wear masks. Dont know what my dues would be living in a strict Muslim household.
