I see this is quite an old video, but the "willow leaf" blades on the arrows used in the hunt penetrate thick hide better than 3 or 4 blade broadheads. The narrator was correct, it was a lung shot. That is the most common shot on all large game shot with a bow. Yes, an animal as large as an elephant has a lot of blood and it takes some time for it to expire from an arrow shot. Since Noah got off the ark man was to eat meat. After Jesus ministry, it is clear that all animals are clean/fair game for Dinner. The elephant had a long, free life, and was harvested to be eaten. Make no mistake, elephant hunters were a big blessing to the locals. Your McDonald's hamburger however was raised in its own filth, shoulder to shoulder with its own kind, on food it was not designed to eat for its whole life. Also worth mentioning is the fact that if it wasn't for those hunters before our time, that saw the need to preserve these animals, and hunters that continue too, there would be no elephant left. That goes for countless other species as well. Hunters took action to set aside refuge and limits for these animals long before governments thought about it.

@@zeedub10there are videos on TH-cam of current bows that are rated the same as the indians would have used during bison hunts of old. Those videos show arrows consistently going into and passing through and through many big game animals of today. (Grizz, black bear, tiger and lions, all of the deer family (Moose, Elk, White tail, caribou, and etc) so thats enough proof to back up your statement and prove this contradictory / argument lover above ^^^

DDog, I’ve put many, many arrows through game that had no idea they had even been shot. They look around at the noise, walk a bit, get wobbly legs and pass out...it’s irresistable as they fall into the night as gently as can be. Much less traumatic than a rifle shot or the pellets from a gun.
