Great video. Thanks for update. This is a lot of fun! Nice job. I think you’re going to sell more than 50 but I get u don’t want to get stuck with them.
Me too, I get the rinseless/compound spinoff mist everywhere. I don’t see how Yvan cleans his pad right next to the vehicle in his cart. I keep mine just outside my garage. I went full cordless this year with a 4 piece shinemate cordless polisher set, and a good heater for my garage shop. Having to go outside is my last issue, was thinking about a camping shower curtain to contain the spinoff. This would make it all work. You Better get a hundred. That deal for 2 is great, if I mess up and break one, I have a spare. Great deal. Count me in for 2.
The refining part of the FDM printing they are doing should be pretty easy id think so you get less lines. I do it all the time. There are also other materials that may be stronger. of course cost changes. But id think ABS should work fine. I think you should add a little something into the cost for you to make something at least any expense in development plus.... Lots of products have various steps of development costs etc. As well as Its a good idea and something I think people would want. Sign me up for one Jeff. Please!
@@improvedgarage Thats ok, I think "as is, no warranty" would still get a ton of interest. It doesn't look super fragile or anything, especially with the corner 45 degrees, and at the end of the day could be considered a consumable wear item like pads, towels and most things detailing. just let me know where to send the payment :). Of course, a little more R&D on your part is well appreciated ... I can wait a bit longer, but etsy is ready for you now if it remains as is. 😀
Black or yellow is a good choice and I like the focus on durability . What size screws are they so i can get some stainless screws when mounting ? Looking almost there. It is currently in Chinese new year so that will affect delivery times.
I’ve found it so much easier to just use Velcro tape on a board and stick all my used pads on it. Has been so much easier and saves me time instead of having to clean one at a time.
Seems like a great idea, Jeff. I, and I’m sure others, appreciate your desire to keep it affordable. Out of curiosity, what is your day job? If you don’t mind sharing, of course.
I would take one for sure if you will ship it to Canada, I don't care what you charge me. I currently have to take my LC4000 outside to clean my pads, not really an option in February when it's -25 C outside.
Honestly, you could prob save money by purchasing a lower-cost printer and producing them yourself. An Ender 3 Plus or a Neptune 3 Max costs around $300, and a spool of PETG filament is about $23. From a single spool, you can likely produce ~25 units (?). You could also prototype without the delays and costs associated with a vendor. If you send me the file, I can calculate the raw filament cost and weight for printing one. Additionally, you could easily design a version in two (or more) interlocking pieces for smaller machines, which I’d find interesting. Creating custom guards with logos or names would also be straightforward.
I thought about it, maybe if it took off.. a printer large enough to do this in one piece is 1600$ then I still need materials and have to deal with the idiosyncrasies of 3D printing. 50 of these would cost me 600$ and I literally just need to click a button
firs……second, dammit ghost! 👻 have you seen my bucket dolly handles that i’ve been building? i’m working on a version for carlos serrano, that will turn a gritguard bucket dolly into a polishing cart with a polisher rack and your IG-Guard would be great especially for the dolly cart idea
@@improvedgarage For sure. My only point here is the exorbitant cost they are asking on all pad washers. I can get a basic 5 gal bucket for $5 and a bucket with dirt trap for $18
Looking good. Always nice to find solutions to problems
Fantastic idea Jeff, I can’t wait to get mine!! Looking forward to no sling finally!! 👊🏼
Great idea! Nicely done
Good jobs
I have the system 4000. I'll take one when you get them in.

Hells ya bro !!!!! Lets goo !!!!
Dang, great idea. I want one

Looks like you're real close. I look forward to seeing V4 and will probably snag one when you're ready to make them available.
This is perfect video timing. This is the exact issue I have. The yellow ring is cracked now and something like this would be awesome
Im in Jeff...
I'd like one!

I would take a V3 as is. Looks great.
I’m just worried people will break it. I won’t have margin to have a warranty. I’ve real close

@@AlexDetails matt from OG tried that and everyone freaked out over pressol..
id take one, i always make a mess with my LC cleaner spinning out the pad
Interested in purchasing one when they are available. Counter me in!
Have you considered a piece of inner tube rubber or something similar to close the gap while still being able to pump the unit?

I’ll post the screw size on the final. I had something laying around and I’m not sure the size they were
Hi Jeff .. you count one customer in me if you decide to go through with this. I already have a lake country pad washer and could use this

I work for an IT firm that does IT for around 300 small businesses in Central California. The detailing is just a passion for me.
@ Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Would you consider shipping to Australia?
ill ship anywhere someone is willing to pay for it.
@improvedgarage DIY Detail Facebook group I meant ^^

an ender 3 isnt large enough to print this. i would need something that could do a 13" print like a bambu
@@improvedgarage Elgoo has a 16.5 inch build volume on the max
Might want to think about buying a printer. Would keep costs down and you can control the whole process. Lots of people do that as a business.

@ right on brotha, whenever you get a chance
Problem is, why should people have to spend more money for a $170 piece of bucket plastic that can't even stop the slinging in the first place
i dont sell the LC4000, i would jsut recommend that you dont buy it in the first place. this clearly isnt for you.
