Dude! If you made this the bottom of one of your drawer towers you could put your bulky tools in the bottom “cabinet” and then have a crate on top. I might make one of these to keep buckets/liners or other bulky stuff that clutters up the site
Its a real shame that we've lost a lot of the trades and apprenticeship / mentoring programs of the past. Fortunately TH-cam has allowed really smart and talented individuals like yourself to share your knowledge and experience with a wide audience who would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn. Really appreciate all the work you do and the skill and creativity with which you do it. Absolutely one of my favorite channels!!
Very good comment Dean. I agree with you and appreciate those that are sharing such wonderful knowledge and skills on TH-cam very much. I have learned so many things, increased my knowledge and hourly rate 👍😎
I'm not even a carpenter but I appreciate watching your videos. I have some small projects planned once I retire and I've learned so much from your channel. Thank you!
It’s nice to see how someone as skilled as you works “freestyle”. I tend to overthink simple projects and get frustrated with the amount of time they take. Thanks for showing me a real life example.
I really like this idea! We work in areas were our tools have to be carted for long distances i.e parking structures, inside hosiptals and jobsites. The microwave is definitely a plus! Once again great idea!
Organization is a key part of efficiency on the job. Keep up this and all videos. I have a custom tool cart that I made called the more-on, because I put more and more on it.
I like how the power strip is hidden.i had mine exposed on the jobs. Everyone seems to want to plug into one power strip and wonder why the circuit blows. Great cart
Genius! Easy for me to armchair coach this but dude, a retractable power cord, a protective lid with cupholders and a few cheap speakers with bluetooth and you could patent these, sell to a major brand and retire! Good job man. This video inspires creativity and puts smiles on working people's faces.

I love all tool organization videos. I’d add slide rails to the back so you don’t have to lift it, just get in the van and pull it up.
Great project. We use a very similar set up. When we bring it in to a jobsite with new trades on it, they love it. When getting set up & tearing down, we love it more.
Looks great. Couple things I would've considered: 1. A lid (to keep dust out and somewhere to sit) 2. A gps tracker that's powered when the unit is plugged in Just subscribed. Thanks for sharing!!
I like it. I used to bring a microwave to the job site whenever I would be there long enough to warrant it. The only thing I don't like, as a retired pipe fitter, is that you have to get down on one knee to load, set timer and remove your food from the micro.
Nice project and very useful. Yes, please continue with some project videos. They are interesting and useful. Sometimes it's a great way to recycle old items into something new.
Great job on the project and good idea, the one thing I would do is put a star knob on that handle so you can tighten so the handle can remain up when in use
I did something similar but I used a Rubbermaid rolling cooler it gets cold over here and I keep my batteries inside the insulated section. I'll watch anything you'll post you do awesome work
I love watching your content. I like the behind the scenes things like this. I had my own trim business fo 22 years. Then retired. I kept my shop and still spend time there. I’m amazed how many things you do the same way I did them. I always figured out the efficient way to do the job. Because in trimming lots of things are repetitive. I installed lots of hardwood floors. I’d like to see you try them. Feels so good to stand back and look at the finished job! I’m sure you know the feeling 😎😎
i am a carpenter as well and come up with stuff like this times to times but you are something else man bravo. you have inspired me with your van, when i was designing my ford transit van and i found some really nice tools thru your videos and those 3d battery holders was something i was looking for . for sometime thank you for all the awesome videos
Great idea. Only change I would do is to have the battery holders inside of that tote even with the holders screwed on the inside walls With me I would be afreaid to break them off since I do have tendency to hit the corner of the trolleys when making sharp turn or passing the doorway.
I was already thinking of doing this with my chargers. Might copy it with my ridgids Also thinking of making a brute 44gsl trash can dolly, and mounting long tools like levels, t squares and all my cleaning, first aid stuff to it
Awesome build. I am half way done with my charging station. I use my dashboard to hear up lunch so no need for that. But main difference on mine is everything is in the box so when inside my van it is still charging off my inverter.
Good idea. I have the dewalt tstak system but refuse to pay the ridiculous price for the trolley for them. After seeing this and how easy it can be i think i will just build my own. Thanks for the video mate.
And coffee maker! Somehow Makita got a battery powered coffee maker on the market first. I wonder if the Dewalt FlexVolt platform is powerful enough to handle a microwave.
Good job. Want to step it up a notch with desalt tough system cooler and radio on top? I built a similar cart before the tough system can out, that really gives you options. Thanks for the inspiration.
I've been using this model in and out of jobsites for going on six years now. No issues yet. I try and take care of my things though for the most part.
Painting it will also help protect it from the elements and last longer. I never got around to painting some of my plywood shelves and carts...they have some permanent coffee/oil/water stains and delamination.
Very clever. Someone like dewalt may copy this! We all know how convenient a micro wave is on job site, and the charge station rocks. Thanks for sharing.....
That’s awesome if I did this it definitely wouldn’t look that awesome and thought out. I need one of these as opposed to chargers and battery all over the FLOOR on the jobsite. Awesome job
Awesome project. The only thing that I would change are the 2 front wheels. I would of used rubber or poly, some of the places I’m in have flooring installed and I think the hard casters could leave marks especially if there’s true hardwood.
Nice build. I was wondering why you would throw the charged batteries in the tool box before putting it in the truck ? Is it so they don't get knocked off of the 3d Printer holders ?
Nice job. I’d be keen to see more videos of your setups. Not sure if you’ve done a video on your vehicle setup? I have seen a few guys with enormous trailer setups. Would be keen to see what you do P.s it would really increase the quality of the vids of you had a clip on /body mic just to reduce the amount of echo and background noise you get through the camera’s mic. I find it a bit hard to hear what your saying sometimes when you are in big echoing rooms. Keep up the good work, love your content!
Insider Carpentry after writing that comment I went and found it. Super well thought out. I find trailers are a little inconvenient on some sites with poor access. I currently just use a duel cab tray back Ute with toolboxes but can’t fit anywhere near as much gear as the big van.
Here in east Texas all the older custom home builders I do work for can’t stand microwaves on the job sites I really don’t understand it I’m serious nobody eats anything all day just a thermos full of coffee but I’d think they would even appreciate that set up lol
I see this is 10 months old has the glass front of the microwave cracked yet I was thinking of a removable front face basically a box that's an inch deep to protect the glass door when you're not using the microwave
Quick question. I´m planning to sort of commit to a single brand for the bulk of my tools. I am thinking dewalt or makita, I like both but I can´t decide which I should choose. I´m also gonna invest in some festool tools, Like the hkc55 and the track saw. So I am kinda leaning towards makita just because of the compatible systainers. But what do you think?
I am a dewalt guy. I own almost zero makita anything. I think dewalt is a great base platform and covers almost everything you could need and does it well.
I like the project. Is the whole setup narrow enough to roll through doors, say 2-8 openings? If not, the handle could be mounted on the narrow end, and the wheels reoriented.

Yes I like this video and encourage you to make more. I was thinking of building a charging station and this was timely.
Ben Franklin stated that need was the mother of all invention-sometimes we just need to chill in the shop and play with our toys.

A clip on cover for the microwave for when it is being transported in a work truck would be a great addition. Totally cool build!

I thought about that also and may do that. My other carts all pull up into my van to that may be an upgrade I make.

I'm glad that you made a ventilation hole for the microwave. This will also reduce unnecessary weight for the cart.
Great project. We use a very similar set up. When we bring it in to a jobsite with new trades on it, they love it.

For number 2, just throw in one or two of Dewalt's Bluetooth enabled batteries into the mix.
Another great video. Love watching a fellow carpenter free build to make his workday easier. A video like this every now and then is warmly welcomed!
I like it. I used to bring a microwave to the job site whenever I would be there long enough to warrant it. The only thing I don't like, as a retired pipe fitter, is that you have to get down on one knee to load, set timer and remove your food from the micro.

@@schlomoshekelstein908 you ought to learn how to read. dumbass
I like the idea of screwing the power station to the front of the tote box. You could charge your batteries and put your power tools inside the tote.

Yeah, hardwood flooring is full tilt production work. I try and stay off my knees as much as possible though.
Love these type videos, my lil boy and I watch at least once a week. He’s really interested in carpentry! Nice lil cart!
That's awesome. My boys watch creator building channels also.

Thanks, for some reason those battery holders are hard to track down. They work great though.
It's innovation and outside-the-box thinking that made America great!

Good video. Yes I would watch this type of content in addition to your usual content. It turned out very nice. Gave me some good ideas.

I like it! What do you think about putting a mini square frig on top, on sliders so you can still get into the box,

Nice, at the beginning of the video I thought you were going to power the microwave with batteries. This is a cool idea though.😎 Good Job.👍

I love this, the job site ocd struggle is real 😲 always love your vids bud keep it up 🤙
That looks like it needs a nice soft seat on the top that will hinge open and give you somewhere to sit on your lunch break lol
Second unit above the m/w and the tote to remove risk of damaging batteries on side
Nice work. Love the tough box on top! The 3D printed battery holders are sweet too! Wondering if they make those for Hilti batteries.
check out stealth mounts uk
Nice build. I was wondering why you would throw the charged batteries in the tool box before putting it in the truck ? Is it so they don't get knocked off of the 3d Printer holders ?
Correct. And it narrows the foot print so it fits where it nests on my shelves.
Would love to see a DeWalt flexvolt invertor built in. That would be hella awesome.

Is there a way to hook up an inverter so you can run the microwave and coffee pot, so you don’t need ac? Just a thought
Steve Picchi put a dewalt 1800 inventor on top. problem solved

SO is version 2 going to have a mini fridge?. Got to have a place to keep drinks on a hot day.
Believe me I’ve thought about that many times over the warm summers.

Good job bro. I would love a microwave on site
Nice job. I have several "round to it" jobs/ideas on my list. When I finally have time to do them I just want to crash and chill. :)
I hear ya. Oddly I find getting my to do list done between jobs very relaxing. Reduces a lot of stress for me.
