So sad to see the whole estate in ruin. The deposed king seems to genuinely care about the people of Greece. It’s good to know that he is able to go back to visit Greece with with his family. It did not make any sense that the Greek government required the deposed King to apply for citizenship. There is something wrong with those people in power. I am glad to see that the King fought them and won the case. As he said, he was born Greek and will remain and die Greek. I admire his love for the Greek people. He avoided and did not cause civil war just to cling on his throne. I truly respect him for what he did. He save a lot of lives, not only his family but the lives of many of the Greek citizens by leaving the country in exile. May God continue to Blessed the deposed King Constantine of Greece and his family!!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I really respect the King. He seems to want what is best for his country and doesn’t push for the citizens to take HIS side. I see some comments on how he should have done things differently during the coup. Even a couple of the talking heads criticized what he did. But I don’t think a person who has not been confronted with such a chaotic, life or death situation can really judge. It seemed like he wanted to avoid a civil war and it looks like he was successful in that. He doesn’t complain about his life or what could have been. He simply gets on with it. Good on him.

The coup lasted 7 years, no one asked him ever to come back after that cause he is not wanted.

Talk on board among the Greek crew and English passengers was that of disbelief and among the Greek crew and passengers I didn't hear a single one say anything other than how devastating it was and utter disbelief.

Lea, were you travelling on the Greek ship, Ellinis? My family and I (six of us) travelled from Southampton to Sydney via Piraeus and the Suez Canal in November 1966 on the Ellinis. All for £10. Money well spent. This documentary is excellent and I would love it if he could return to Greece, it would boost tourism even more. Princess Anne (Prince Phillip's mother) was exhumed from the King's grounds and she was finally laid to rest in Jerusalem. It's a family with an amazing history and it's nothing short of rediculous that they cannot resume their life in Greece.

@@ritageorge2348 Great information Lea. If you're in Melbourne be sure to go to the Immigration Museum, it's in the former Customs House. There is a cross-section of a migrant ship in the Museum, complete with stow-away rats and cats! The cabin is identical to ours. They even have that strange smell of the ship captured in the museum. There is a computer were migrants can write their story. I did, including going to school and studying Australian poems and songs. One was about a jumbuck and a billabong. My three sisters and I knew that we were heading somewhere very different. We've never looked back. The story of migration is a fascinating one. All the best Lea.

Loved this video and very moved by the King and the history of his family. I started to learn about his royal family a few years ago by accident when reading books about the last Czar of Russia, Nicholas II. From there it went to Czar's mother, Empress Maria of Russia, also known as Princess Dagmar of Denmark before she married to Emperor Alexander III, father of Czar Nicholas II, as well as Grand Duchess Olga Constantinovna of Russia, a granddaughter of Czar Nicholas I and an aunt of Nicholas II, who married King George I of the Hellenes - a prince of Denmark before becoming the king and a brother of Empress Maria. Then, it went on to Queen Alexandra of England, wife of King Edward VII and Queen Victoria's daughter-in-law who is also a sister of Empress Maria and King George I. It goes on and on... even today there are well known members of royal houses in Europe who come from Greek Royal family, or have connections with Greek Royal family in blood, such as Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, whose father, Prince Andrew, is a brother of King Constantine I of Greece, grandfather of King Constantine II shown in the video. So Prince Philip is an uncle of Constantine II. Did I hear King Constantine II mentioned Prince Andrew burial place in the video? This video provided some valuable insights in Greek history that are very fascinating.

Constantine II, Elizabeth II, and Prince Phillip are all third cousins through Victoria of the UK, the "Grandmother of Europe". Constantine is also third cousin to Elizabeth through Christian IX of Denmark, "Father-in-law of Europe", and second cousin once removed to Prince Phillip through Christian. Phillip is not an uncle to Constantine.

Sad how this relationships between the Royals of Europe failed to stop the WW1 and WW2!!! As for Constantine Buhayer criticizing King Constantine for not saying 'No' to the Military takeover of government in Greece as a sacrifice for his people, I wonder how Buhayer wanted the King to do that without a troop of his own!!! He would have just been sacrificed by the Military officers who carried out the coup, with a bullet to his temple, if he had said 'No', and that would have been the end of him!!!
