The boxes within will just jostle around and damage is unavoidable to the packaging and sometimes the content is unavoidable. Especially with DPD. The Akira XL U.S.S. Thunderchild was my first Eaglemoss ship. Absolutely love it! Started my next acquisitions with the Andromeda, Avenger, Pathfinder & R.R.W. Vastam.
The one nitpicky level of detail I notice is that the torpedo pod tubes on the roll bar is still the 1996 design where they look like they’re on a rotary wheel, instead of the updated 2014 better defined fixed positions.

I love they did this as an XL! This ship really needed a better detailed version. My impression of the pennant on the bottom of the ship is that, since the First Contact fleet is meant to be seen in quick action shots, the detail resolution is rather low, and what happened to the pennant in the Akira class is that the textures weren't shaped correctly for the hull so they got stretched and squished by the geometry. That's why some windows are also stretched out, and the pennant is wide, then thin, then wide again. It's supposed to be a regular yellow delta, but it got all stretched. Eaglemoss is just replicating a production mistake that was never meant to be noticed. Love the ship all the same.
I love the Akita class. There is one thing about mine that seems to be different from what I have now seen on a couple of channels. On the back of the saucer (where the impulse engines are usually located) mine are painted a lilac color, whereas in the unboxing videos, they are a dark grey. It is not a complaint. It’s just something I noticed. Did anyone else receive one with this alternate coloring?
She looks impressive. It always bothered me in First Contact how it flew so close to the exploding cube. I like to think it didn't have a name on the hull cause it was pressed into service before they had a chance to finish the paint. It's almost "first contact day" so it's a fitting review.
Okay, from now on may we have schematics of the internal designs? What does the bridge look like? What is like inside the ship? I liken this to showing three disconnected columns, stones, in Greece or Rome and asking people to picture the Parthenon or the Forum. Why do I have to explain this?

Ah Akira class the sexiest ship in the Starfleet. Instead of Discovercrap there should be tv series featuring Akira class, maybe USS Thunderchild herself. No CBS wont give us that.
A new series with a Sabre Class, refitted Nova ore Akira would be so awesome. And the show is set couple of years after the Dominion War/Voyager Endgame.
