My current favorite EPG ship is the fleet nova. It can do pure EPG but it really shines as a scitorp bomber. It can spam torpedoes with the eagle console because it's a pilot ship, and also do incredible damage with the hydra console if you use attack pattern lambda and reinforcement squadron first. Better than the maelstrom torpedo. Plus it's just incredibly fast and makes staying on target to maintain DPS easy. Also: Universal seating is so good.
Another fun trick: put the maelstrom torpedo on the back, fly past your target, and as soon as you're behind them, use torpedo spread. You'll get the raider flanking bonus. Having it on the back also helps to not waste its charges.
@@GalacticGaming96220 Not 100% sure yet. I did not know what i was doing when i started getting into epg so im flying the titan as a scitorp atm but i really want a Temporal ship. You gave me a lot to pick from.
I would like to see a build that has the most different types and random rifts/Space anomalies/toxic space trash going on. that would be kool to see. 👍🏻 great video. enjoy your day.
Only because you mentioned the Event Campaign near the start, if I may offer some clarifications (I'll avoid specific spoilers and just reference the ranking numbers where needed): 1) Legendary ships are unobtainable with T6 coupons. Legendaries are Bundle-only ships in their respective Legendary-themed Bundle. You mention the Legendary Bundles in those sections, I just wanted to clarify the Event Campaign relationship just in case you have some relatively newer players watching this or for those who don't understand exactly on what their T6 coupon can and can't be used. 2) The #5 ship can't yet be obtained with this year's Campaign-awarded T6 coupons. However, once it's no longer a "New Item" ship, it *should* be allowed. 3) Since the #3 ship came out this year (you mentioned that), it can't be obtained from this year's Event Campaign "Premium T6 Starship Choice" box. However, assuming we get the Event Campaign again for 2025 (with the Cryptic-to-DECA handover, I don't think it's safe to 100% assume anything), and assuming they keep up the practice of including all Lockbox/Promo ships up to the end of the previous year (so for 2025, it'd be up through December of this year), it *should* be a choice for that box next year. EDIT: I like the list, don't get me wrong! I just wanted to clarify some things in relation to the Event Campaign(s).
Thanks for adding onto those points! Yeah, I guess I should have considered those things you mentioned, and I feel like I should have specified that. My bad
@@GalacticGaming96220 It’s all good. :) When you have “the best EPG ships,” if it *only* included Event Campaign-claimable ships, I think you’d be doing a disservice. Only 2 of them that *could* be obtained by an Event Campaign reward just won’t be claimable until next year (most likely concerning the #5 ship, almost definitely with the #3 ship), so to only have 2 “misses” on the Event Campaign side of things isn’t horrible. :)
The Verne and it's variants are probably the best pure EPG ship/s in game. I do like your picks for the most part, but if I were making a pure EPG boat no Tac abilities, the Eternal, and the Lukari would be my top picks. The Fleet Sutherland is also a very good EPG platform, though it does miss out on a full Temp ship mechanic. The Console from the Verne is probably the best CD reducing consoles in game as it reduces all CD's not just Uni consoles, but everything. Not so useful on torps or DEW builds, but on a pure EPG build where Cool downs are long and drawn out, it makes a huge difference.
Those are some good alternatives (though personally I can't see what other's can in the Eternal). Also, I wonder how the Tipler Cylinder and the Vovin's console would interact with each other? And btw, if you're running Photonic Officer 2 and Improved Photonic Officer, cooldown reductions beyond that aren't necessary because practically everything will be on minimum cooldown
@@GalacticGaming96220 PO is great for bridge officer cool downs, but not for Universal consoles or Captain abilities. P0 paired with Uncon Systems is amazing, but the less time waiting for anything as an EPG boat, the better. Though I do admit that there is such a thing as overkill since minimum CD is a thing, hence why no one should really be using Boimler and Improved Photonic Officer together to reduce CD.
Your general volume is a bit low and the intro phaser is incredibly high by comparison. Id like to make an honorable mention to the Eternal Temporal Multi Mission Science Vessel - Ive been flying it since it came out and its just a wonderful ship with unique consoles. But its got LtC level of engineering.
They could do with allowing us to freely swap between the Verne/Sui'Mor/Qul'poH skins for these ships. It's not like they allowed the Rom variant to have a singularity core and powers. They're the same ship, with different clothes on.
I'll be honest, so many people swear by the Eternal, and personally I jus don't get it. Sure the spec seating combo is decent, but when you're running an EPG build, you don't want much Engineering seating, and the Eternal has a Lt Command Engineer seat. I personally wouldn't recommend the Eternal, but if you can get it to work for you then more power to you I suppose.
@@GalacticGaming96220 Yeah, same here. Sci ships with a LtCdr Eng seat CAN perform well, but they reach their ceiling much quicker than those without one.
Hey, thank you so much for this video! I love the Legendary Vesta, but dont really know how set it up. If you could give tips or maybe even have a chat with me how i could set it up, I would be extremely happy (And yes this ship is annoyingly squishy)
I'll be honest, my Vesta is not set up at all for a proper EPG build, and the Vesta in particular is geared towards DewSci, which I am not superbly good at, so you would probably be better off checking out another channel for that ship in particular. Sorry I wasn't able to help
The Trailblazer is more suited to SciTorp builds than pure EPG, mainly because of it's spec seating. It COULD be done, but it would not be the best by any means
@@GalacticGaming96220 Not need to be the best, (I'm the kind of player, who put the cloack console on a Lexington just to get a cloack on it) if it's more or less decent, I'm happy with it.
for a pure EPG build, the Chekov's trait is superior to the Trailblazer's (there are some banger sci builds that lack any tac boff abilities whatsoever.)
No, it's straight up worse. Because all science ships have inbuilt subsystem targeting, which procs the Trailblazer trait and (if you're using it) extra EPG and Control skill from the Revolutionary Deflector
@@GalacticGaming96220 Well then they should put that in the tooltip, "While this trait is slotted, the starship enjoys a bonus to Exotic Particle Generators while under the effects of Cannon Scatter Volley, Cannon Rapid Fire, Beam Fire at Will, Beam Overload, Torpedo Spread, High Yield Torpedo, Dispersal Pattern Alpha, or Dispersal Pattern Beta." which says nothing about subsystem targeting"
TMM? Edit: If you're referring to the Eternal, the reason why that ship is not on the list is because of the forced Lieutenant Commander Engineering seat. Lieutenant Engineering is already too much for most EPG setups, having 3 engineering slots is just excessive
