The beach is about 17 kilometres long, from the Kongo river to the north and Galu beach to the south /the southern point of reference is an old Baobab tree/. Diani is one of the most prominent tourism resort areas of Kenya.The indigenous people of the area are Digo, one of the nine ethnic communities known as the Mijikenda. Today the area includes Kenyans of various ethnicities who have migrated to Diani, drawn by the promise of a tourism related economy Berman, Nina. Germans on the Kenya coast: land,Charity and Romance, Indiana University press, 2017 5-21 . With a population of over 100,000 inhabitants, the Diani/Ukunda urban area is one of the largest at the Kenyan coast and forms part of the larger Mombasa metropolitan region. A small airstrip is located between the beach area and the Mombasa-Lunga Lunga road. The water remains shallow near shore, with some underwater sandbars near the surface which allow wading with a clear view of the sandy bottom. Inland from the beach, there is extensive vegetation (see photo at right), including numerous palm trees which cover the coastal areas, unlike the dry acacia trees of the mountainous Kenyan Highlands. The Mwachema River flows into the sea at Diani Beach. [1]
The general area is known for its coral reefs, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and for the closely located Shimba Hills National Reserve, a wildlife reserve which looks out over the Indian Ocean. Diani Beach has restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and several shopping centres.
Diani Beach is also a popular kitesurfing, sky diving, jet skiing, and snorkelling location.

OMG! This is awesome! Such beautiful footage and scenery. Question: how did you carry your drone into and out of the country? Hand luggage? Did they ask you any questions or were they just cool about it?
Hi thank you. just risked . because drone import is prohibed in kenya. but if u bring and use drone only one the beach nobody care about u. they just hate drones in national parks. i do not recomend carry in hand luggage. i recomend carry in big luggage . if u have 2 luggages take seperatlybateries in another luggage. they will be see only bateries on scaner. a lot scaner checking in kenya.

Zdravím, krásné video 👌 chci se zeptat jak je to s dovozem dronu do Keňi? Mám Mini 2 a přemýšlím jestli ho vzít sebou do Keňi nebo ho raději nebrat, ale ty pláže bych si rád natočil. Díky
Ďakujem . Pokial sa podmienky nezmenili tak drony sú stále prohibed zakázané . Riskujes že ti na letisku skonfiškujú dron . Má som asi šťastie že tipek pred do mnou mal dron a jemu zabavili. Mne sa nevenovali . Je ti vswtko risk. Ja som lietal len na plazi . V national parku som nepoužíval rešpektoval som že to tam je zakázané. Na samotnej plazi nemal so mnou nikto problem.
Děkuji za info. Já jsem právě chtěl pár záběrů z pláže, že bych dron schoval do kufru a baterky si dal k sobě do batohu...ale asi ho nejspíš nakonec nechám doma.
@@lojzazpily430 to už je samozrejme vsetko na zváženie. treba zistit podmienky či sa nezmenili. od vtedy ja som bol 4 roky do zadu. peknú dovolenku ;)

Hi kristina. Drones are prohibed in kenya. i just take it and risk it. If u bring drone to kenya u risk that will be confiscated on aiport. if u land on another coutry where is allowed drone its easier bring drone to kenya. if u land to tanzania then pass boards to kenya its no problem nobody check. if u will be fly on the beach in kenya overaly is no problem with drone on the beach. nobody care about u. in kenya drone is
strong prohibited in national parks. i did not used there. just on the beach

There is a general ban on drones in Kenya. Did you fly illegally?
