last week it was 12k now 8k, but, the market is coming out with 7 new 8k pickups by ford, chevy, subaru, mazda, hyundai & more at....$8k or you lose koji sato, ceo for toyota. best fix engines first. if you make trucks in mexico, 200% usa tarriff will not do you well. still gotta get quality control as mexico is not japan nor usa. inexpensive work truck. not fancy stuff, just engine, stick, a/c . skip the radio. bare bones.
You can buy one in Thailand for about $10,000 +$5000 shipping to U.S.A. We must not forget about Uncle Sam's import duty taxes ? Also, U.S. insurance companies may not insure the truck ???
There seems to be a pattern in these videos with fluctuating prices. One week, they are at around 8000.00, then the next week they've gone up to 25,0000.00. Times are getting tougher financially, and these auto makers keep pumping out these trucks that are 80,000.00 $ that's why it was refreshing for a second to see these automakers touting a below 10.000.00$ truck. I'm beginning to think it's all hyperbole, and these low-cost trucks are nothing more than a ploy to drum up interest. After dealership markups, you'll be lucky to smell less than a 20,000.00 msrp. Trucks were originally made for work and utility purposes, but automakers decided to yuppify these trucks as if they were luxury cars. I've known people who buy 4-wheel drive trucks and never go 4 wheeling, don't haul anything, and never tow anything. I'd personally would want a truck with a second cab, a decent sized bed, a reliable motor, with the only power feature being the breaks, ac, and heater, and that's it. Keep your infotainment, navigation, and all the other unnecessary features. Had a bare bones Mazda B2000 in the 80s 5 speed manual transmission no power anything except the brakes ac and heater, cost a whopping 6,000.00, and was a blast to drive. What is even a greater disappointment is that the qualty seems to have dropped as you hear about all those recalls. Only time will tell what happens
