At a new car dealer ship what I did with the used cars I bought at auction is I added 100 to the total. Then used that money to mark down my hit list of used cars on my lot that were there to long or I bought wrong. I took my top 10 cars every month and moved that money to the ones that were old. So hopefully eventually I would be right in the cars.
I work for a major auto manufacturer. I have the option to get a great lease through the company and the vehicle would be registered and insured by the company. It’s still more affordable for me to own two used cars that I keep well maintained.

Depending on who you listen to, since the covid thing used cars went up by about 48%. They have come down by about 25%. Still about 23% higher than before the covid thing. Still too high.
Right you are. As we keep our older car repaired and on the road , and new car prices rise beyond our means, that make used cars the most attractive option. That also means that as demand increases for them, the price increases also . A shortage of quality used cars will always make those cars more expensive.
What is also annoying 2me is that these "brand new" vehicles sitting on the lots for 7-8+months leads to problems , tbf slight not major, & issues yet these dealers won't budge on the new prices ( unless they have to based on the market ) u see rotors rusted , break lines not being optimal ,etc - they would rather eat them instead of giving a deal - idk who tf is buying a 100k truck that doesn't even last 10+ years - EVERYTHING made today is disposable

Where is your dealership at in North Carolina? I need a car for my son.
@DrakeButler-x1pwhat makes you think a private seller is honest?
What state are you in and what is the name of your dealership?
I need to get ahold of this guy to see if they can source me a 2009-2011 Civic within the next 5 months. I always see at least one in the back ground of his videos. If I can get them to find a good one I will drive a few hours to buy from him.
A bad indicator for upcoming car sales is the discounted tools at Lowes and Home Depot aren't moving like they do in most years. People don't have disposable income.
They really got some shitty vehicles at auction!
Good Stuff... Very informative
Do you see that new car dealers are sacrificing quality to get you in a new car sooner and pay 100,000 new truck or suv. Seems like any car before 2007 lasted longer than now
Love your vids. Keep it up 👍!
I really miss my car. Was halfway paying it off until i got into an accident. Wanted to keep it.
Brandon, I am coming down there in January to buy one of your cars that will hopefully get me back to New Jersey, last me a year or two, and still look decent enough to pick up a date in. I am 65, and I would rather drive multiple cars over my remaining life, then buying one crappy retirement car and getting stuck with it till deal do us part! Can't wait to see what I will be driving home in.
Before long, a $20 bill will get you a date....
I know you're not pushing your loc, but that Ford Ranger back there, if it turns and dials...that's a nice find if you're selling it for $5k (even with a little rust). I've seen owner sold trucks 6+ that would make the baby cry.
NOT DODGE,RAM,JEEP,ETC. 35% OFF MSRP OR STICKER PRICES ACROSS THE BOARD. ALL NEW VEHICLES & LATER ON NEWLY USED TOO.
Been saying this stuff all year nothing is changing
I'm saying used prices are about to go up... Haha I don't think anyone even watches these videos before they comment
My last car purchase I spent New Year's Eve evening at the car dealership.
Im so blessed to be financially comfortable & retired b4 age 50 & only have 2 years of payments left on my 2021 camry w/41k miles @ 195$ a month - i drive maybe 1-2x a week & thats like total of 10-15 miles , of my sons sentra breaks down in next few years ( ugh cvt transmission) ill give him my Camry & get into a 0$ down lease - no Fn way im going to look @ these trucks that have msrps of 100k just fn insane - i have tremendous empathy for people who still have to work 15-30 years & are forced into needing a vehicle in this insane market , if my son can make his car last & gets a well paying job in his feokd when he geaduates ill keep my camry for 15 more years - only drawback is that living in a snow state the rusting of cars is a problem - when id be down south & see a 2003 maxima im comfused & have to do a double take bcuz that old of a car , no matter how well maintained, wont last in a snow state ( pa maybe bcuz they use sand & not salt or other corrosive chemicals ) bol to all out there
If i knew where you were, i would buy a plane ticket and bring cash...I need a reliable work suv. My last 5 k went into one that can't be fixed and its name is chitty chitty bang bang....shes nearly ready for the scrap yard...
This year is over and nothing special going on!
I'm seeing prices come down, but not much. Couple grand off a $65k truck isn't much of an incentive. I'll continue to wait it out and stack $$$.
The what I paid and the auction day videos are my favorite videos from you.
Glad I bought my 19 Cruze new in late 18. Since I made the fatal mistake of paying for my car with a check and not finance it, I had to pay the full MSRP of $19,999.
I worked for a cash only dealer back in the 90s, they bought for 150-400 and sold the
Nice title switch
Car prices are already rising at auction here. I’m holding over 200 for late January ish.
Watched and commented on your videos for years, there will never be a used car crash when new cars are expensive, and used car inventory is tight. Before covid mnheim Baltimore would sell 30+ Chevy malibus a week. Now less than 10.
200. Holding them as not offering them for sale?
I have bought several new cars, I got my best deals at the end of November.
The concern with 150k plus mileage vehicles isn't rust my friend. Let's not create that narrative.
I have 1997 Buick La Sabre with zero rust. She is going strong, as all Florida cars.
I live on the coast in Florida and my 99 Mirage accumulated some roof rust over the past couple years. This past summer I took a weekend grinding out the rust, and patching up with fiberglass resin and Bondo. Now she's rust-free. Cars WILL rust in Florida if you live near the coast. My car was purchased here in St Pete brand new in 1999, never left the state. The rest of the car, undercarriage, etc, not a spot of rust. Immaculate.
270k on a fixed oil leak and alternator radiator upgrade new struts 2005 or older sc300 is good to Lexus is300 going for 500k timing belt is soo about 150k over due lol .not my fault but the right engine and 3k to 5k oil changes not 8k to more lies they say .change coolant with top shelf evey 50k and ATF 30k at 100k a full change
If you're not in the rust belt. Otherwise, it could have 100k and be unsafe. If you live in the belt, you have to give things a hard look.
You must not be in the rust belt then
"Build it and they will come". You sure do go the extra mile to take care of your car buying customers Brandon.
NC requires an inspection and no check engine light. Do you just clear the light and it will come back on with in a week of driving it off your lot? Also do you address other codes that don't cause a check engine light?
You can't just clear a light and get it to pass... Cars have to be driven a lot after a reset to set incomplete monitors in the computer before inspection. You can't just trick the inspection computer.
Go to drive time and check out their used cars.I feel sorry for the people getting taken from them.Older 4 door sedans with 180k miles for $18k.Sad.
New car dealers cannot do anything to help sales on their way overpriced, cheaply made, low quality soon to fail vehicles. I bought my very last new in 2002 and still have it among other great running older vehicles. I will maintain what I have myself.
Depends on the vehicle and the brand.
@@jamiemcgill67 No it doesn't, they are all made to fail at some predetermined point nowadays. Most of the last few or so generations have no clue how to do anything on a vehicle besides put gas in it. Some can't even do that.
@@jamiemcgill67 Not nawadays it doesn't.
Exactly. All businesses do it. I was a watching a pickup. At this dealership and all of a sudden the price went up on a 2 year old truck that's been sitting and rotting with under a 100 miles on the odometer. When I confronted the salesman he looked like a deer in headlights. This happened on 12/19/2025. 🖕These dealerships
Are you from the future?
so how many miles are on those trucks? 200k?
I got two 2006 cars with 130k and 330 respectfully Tundra and oddesy but I do live in Vegas
I have a question. You talk about ur vehicles not have rust so supposedly, you say they last longer. We'll the motor and Trans is what really makes the car run. At 150 or 200 miles, that's a last leg life spand. I could be wrong.
Not for a Honda or Toyota. A Ford, Chevy or Dodge maybe🤔
I once bought a car that had a new motor and transmission installed . It was rusty but it ran great. It was a {700 dollars} 1978 Ford Thunderbird with the 302 . I prefer the 351 which I had in another Thunderbird and it was super nice.
Is that a 2010 Civic EX-L? I have the same one in silver I might want to buy yours too.
Do u have a website to see the cars you have for sale
Watch out for all the flood damaged cars this year.
Prices aren’t coming down because of inflation because of reckless government spending and endless spending to Ukraine
...and Israel...and every other ungrateful 3rd world country.
I try to explain this all the time and a lot of people just don’t get it.
Please , put the link for your car lot... thanks
alot of wholesale is happening online with nicer vehicles that dealers aren't willing to run through a lane and get lowballed
Let's see a 91 Marquis hit 48000 with 250k miles, no tires, stereo stolen, no vin no history known, ass end beaten to hell, interior panels missing, dash torn apart, only a driver seat that's torn down to the foam if not less than, headlights and taillights missing, no windshield, but HEY! ITS A GREAT CAR 48k msrp
Am I missing something where is your dealership??
He keeps it a secret because he wants to limit sales to the locals for their benefit.
@@joewoodchuck3824why would anyone in sales ever want to limit their sales?
I havent found a decent car for under 4 grand in about 3 yrs. They all have high price tag even those with check engine lights on that wont pass a DMV inspection🤔
That's actually a good turnover rate you have. Some new cars and newer used cars are well over 365 days on the lot....
Makes me wonder....
Do you ever haggle or are your prices in stone?
It only takes four hrs to sand buff and clear a set of headlights. Does it not attract enough attention? Or is it just a lack of time and employees? I thought having clear instead of cloud. Would make a lot pop more
Where are you located in NC (city)? I would love to see your dealership. Very informative video.
Ehhh no crash, and increased prices..... Keep your beaters peeps fix em up and drain the dealerships out of business. Return your new cars, save up the payments buy a used cavalier or stratus from owner fix anything wrong, get the modern touches you want yourself and look up a TH-cam video on how to install it yourself. Hell if you got 5 to 10k for a down payment buy a car for 1000 and get all the new shit installed for less than that mark
Here in ny 20 year old v8 trucks with 200k miles are selling for 15k+. I haven't seen a $1000 car in 15 years
That so many Americans depend on their tax refunds to put towards their cars, is disappointing. They view it as some kind of springtime bonus.
My tax return is directed to my child's education fund.
90% of majors in College is a scam , 70% of college grads in 10 years after graduating have jobs unrelated to the degrees they obtained - def not saying your wrong saving ur tx return 4ur kids future education just hoping they get a degree in something that will provide them w/ a job & financial security
Ok.... I am in the rust belt! so let me tell you if you get a 4x4 truck with 150k I would pay the 5k AND have you ship it here!!! That is how much a rust free truck is worth to me.... I have two that will need to be replaced or repaired .... and even if repaired it will never be rust free! same would go for a car... especially if you want to keep it... like a convertible... muscle car and so on... I can do everything to repair a vehicle mechanically but not erase the rust!
Do you every see any classic cars? Im going to get rid of my 1991 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo
You may want to watch out? All good thangs come to a end. The more people not working, the less the tax returns are. I do wish you well.
I reckon his low end segment is growing as people get poorer
I thought used car dealers tried to reduce inventory around January 1 to reduce the property taxes they pay on inventory.
I have heard you speak about the new car dealers floor plan costs, but who carries the actual cost of the vehicle? Is it a "consignment" deal with the manufacturers and this is how manufacturers can give incentives?
Where are you located. Do you have a web site to show your inventory?
Where are you? Where can I buy today?
Very informative episode Brandon, I'm from Canada and with the looming effects from American tariffs, could have a major effect on, the auto industry, and Elon Musk having Tesla, could his influence, be a reason for sending the American auto into choas for Elon's Musk gain.
All that's happening is dealers will buy used to survive. They can't sell new so used is their survival
Is there a 'Dealer Obligation' in the US on used cars to fix things that break the day after it leaves the lot? Here in Au it's 3 months or 3000 mi but only for cars with less than 100,000 mi and less than 10 years old. Outside of that it's nothing.
Looking for a toyota 4 runner were are you located?
Your generation has never experienced a major down turn. No one will be buying anything in just a short time. Study economics and reduce you inventory now before it is too late. In 2008 people walked away from new and used cars anything they owed money on. Be careful
No one should be living paycheck to paycheck. Save at least 10% of your paycheck.
I like that HHR in the background.. had one as a commuter.. put 160K hard miles on it.. and it was very reliable.
Tough little lunch box.
Those are some of the biggest pos you could buy
@@wrenchone5003 I am just telling you my experience..
I bought it brand new as a commuter. 2009 Base LS with 5speed stick. Zero options.
Rotors, pads, tires, oil and gas. The only minor expense I had was replacing the struts and shocks myself and it was less than $500.
It got rear ended twice.. both times I was able to drive away. Both times the car that hit me were totaled. (Kia Sedona minivan and a Mazda 3)
Got 28 - 30mpg.. surprisingly roomy when you dropped the back seat.
The drivers seat was not very comfortable for long drives.. but damn it did its job and did it well.
Yeah with all the rock chips on the front of it, it looked like it had gone through reentry, but it was nimble in traffic.
Gave it to my niece and she put another 20K miles on it before her cousin backed into it and totaled it.
Mine was in better condition than the one he is selling though.
Wow I've heard those are "junk", but seems like you were on top of maintenance & used common sense driving ( letting it warm up properly etc ) it's comforting knowing a new "cheaper" American car lasted a while 4ya - congrats 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Car Manufactures must Love Salt Roads !
In 5 more years you will have 2018 Tesla Model 3's that are 12 years old with 350k+ miles on your lot. ;)
No it wont crash, the car that was $1800 is now $4000 the car that was 7,000 is now 12k and so forth because the used car will be on demand due to the insane new car prices.
