It is highly likely that the fitting broke because you attached the oil pressure sender to the side of it. The pressure sender is quite heavy, it is mounted at 90 degrees and when you introduce vibration into the mix the aluminum is simply not strong enough to take it. I think you would have broken it even if you had put a top quality fitting in. I highly recommend to get better engine management that has built in fail safes, like turning the engine off when there is no oil pressure. I wish you the best of luck with the engine!

All of thr mechanical issues had just been sorted out, it was time for paint, suspension, fun stuff, and someone texting and driving happened.. beginning of july, just like you said, summer time, love driving it, and wanted to enjoy it

When you have pulled the oil drain plug, and there was literally no oil I am so surprised that the engine is in such great shape! 😳 That damage is like just like a no damage at all, so keep your head up Sam, it will be more than alright sooner than you think about it. I'm saying from a point of waiting for working car for 6 months when in my EG is garage, and 6 years from crashing my EJ. an oil pressure gauge and an oil pressure switch hooked up to a led and some kind of sirene is a must have, so if you loose oil pressure u can shut of the car immediately

First of all you don't mount oil pressure sensor like that, it should be in a p-clamp. Vibrations took that inlet out but the sensor did not help there for sure
hey im an aircraft mechanic for checking oil filters you should cut the paper out completely then squeeze it in a vice to remove the oil then open it up and use a magnet to figure out if its steel or aluminum

Sam, I feel your pain, my 240sx s13 started having misfiring issues and now I only have a crank no start, some of my cylinders got filled with fuel and I think I’ll be getting a rebuild or a second used engine , I love your s13 and her color, mine is still yellow from factory

All is not lost. If the piston got stuck in the bore a machine shop can rebuild it unless the block is already at or very near max bore size (ie been rebuilt before, or the piston really damaged the bore). You’ve made it this far.
Hope your engine is all good! I would definitly put the pressure sensor somewhere on the block. that fitting would have broke even if it was higher quality ,thats too much weight being vibrated and hanging on it.
it is sad sam but keep your head up you have a ton of very good friends who will help you get everything right and feeling better than before. shit happens dont sweat it.

I had this happen on my VW, the factory oil light didn’t come on and my oil all got pumped out, it’s been apart 2 years to get it all back together even tho the machine shop did the short block in a month. A stupid €10 part wrecked my motor and cost me hundreds.

Use steel tee fittings and not aluminum on the oil feed line. And even consider remote mount for the oil pressure sendor to remove stress from the fittings. The weight of the sendor+horrible vibrations from the ka broke the aluminum fitting
No pany , to było karygodne zaniedbanie... żadnego alu w takim miejscu! Też miałem taki dylemat w CG13DET- do zasilania turbo używamy gwintowanego broku w głowicy. Uwaliłem sobie że wstawie tam czwórnik z autogauga- ciśnienie, temp i turbo oil feed. Wkreciłem i zerknałem jak to wygląda i mówie- nie. To sie od wibracji urwie z głowcy. Za ciężkie żeby tak sterczeć. Dorobiłem do tego bracket który to usztywnia, wygląda jak kupa ,ale u mnie zawsze function over fashion. Jak zobaczyłem wasz patent to aż mi sie włos zjerzył... żadnego chinskiego aluminium, nigdy i nigdzie! Mam ze dwóch kumpli którzy by sie zabili przez fejkowe, "duraluminiowe" nakretki do kół D2 z allegro... Element który pokazałeś, wyglądający jak przejsciówka pod czujnik urwał sie własnie przez czujnik, w sensie jego mase. Niby w rece zdaje sie lekki, ale jak silnik ma mikrodrgania, to każdy gram ma znaczenie... Wszpółczuje Sam, tymbardziej że miałeś szanse uratować motor gdy skapłeś sie że nie ma boostu. Prawdopodobnie turbina już wtedy stała z braku oleju, gdybyś wtedy odpuścił była szansa uratować KA24... Swoją drogą- to co wisi na urwanym przewodzie to, o ironio- czujnik cisnienia oleju! Nie wywaliło warna na zegarach? Nie zazdroszcze jak bedziesz chciał remontować, chyba że macie dojścia lub znajomych kumatych szlifierzy. Ja sobie uwaliłem remont CG i przeżywam katusze. Praktycznie nie ma części. Kumpel ze 2 tygodnie sie boxował z hurtowniami żeby ściągnąć panewki do QG (co ciekawe, bo popularny silnik) dopiero uruchomienie wtyki w CerMotorze uratowało sytuacje... Pozdrowienia i trzymaj sie! P.S Tak dla potomnosci- Nie wiem jak z innymi nissanami ,ale w CG (produkowany w UK) gwint we wspomniamym otworze w głowicy jest BPT zamiast NPT!
maybe you can find someone who has swapped something cool into an s13 chassis before to help you do it quickly and without having to figure out engine/trans mounts, electrical wiring etc on your own

maybe you can find someone who has swapped something cool into an s13 chassis before to help you do it quickly and without having to figure out engine/trans mounts, electrical wiring etc on your own
