I got my 09 v star 1300 touring for 500 bucks. Sat for 3 years in someone’s shed. Pressure washed all the green brown and grey layers of dirt and dust off of it. Aired up the tires, charged the battery, looks brand new and fires right up. Love the bike
I recently got a 2007 VStar 1300 Touring that was well maintained. This past summer I was back and forth to Texas in west hill country. Much of my driving was backroads. I decideed that my next trip I would take the bike with me. Did my homework, as my bike is closer to 1000 pounds and I had never towed a bike on a trailer and worked the math as well as how to propperly strap it down. Best decision of my life... hit the backroad on one of the wonderfully beautiful days and the only people one the backroads were other Riders here and there. Long winding turns and just one of the most amazing rides I've been so far.
Another consideration for you might be the benefits of simplicity of a V-twin over a V-four. Double the number of valves and fuel/intake pathways, ignition coils and plugs, and the physical location of the fuel injection makes V-fours more complicated, and therefore more expensive to maintain. You might want to consider a 1700 cc Road Star instead. Just somthing to think about.
That was definitely on my mind double the cylinders double the maintenance double everything. I will say not a day goes by I don't miss that bike. Maybe I'll just buy another one like it. Thanks for watching 👍
I got a 2013 vstar 1300 tourer in brand new condition 4 months ago with 16k miles. I got it for a steal of a price. 2700 dollars. I love it. I've put 15k miles on it so far and have had zero issues with it.
Hey bro, came across your channel as I was looking for reviews on the 2011 1300, thats a nice bike you have (had) nice sound. Enjoyed your video. Watching from Australia 🇦🇺
Just got 2007 vstar 1300 tourer rode a couple hour so far its a dream when jumping from suzuki savage single cylinder carbs and 652cc 1302cc paid 2,650 with 22k miles no issues and owner never had issues before with it
@@autoavids FYI: My brother-n-law has a repair shop straight up M-53 in Almont "Northbound Muffler & Repair". I don't know if mentioning my name will get ya anything, but he can fix anything. He's a good guy.
@autoavids If it's right there then I'll have to pull the cover off to get to it. Only one bolt, but I'll check after work tomorrow when I have some light.

Mad congrats on your new bike! Ride safe and thanks for watching 👍
I prefer the Yamahas than the Harley’s, better styling & more reliability.
That's what I kept hearing from people. I really liked it but a I have an itch for a Royal Star.
@@autoavids those royal stars are beautiful, I’ve always wanted one but being 5’4 they’re very heavy for me 😭
I hear ya, they are pretty decently sized. I'm set to look at it this weekend, hopefully all works out!
@@autoavids did you get the royal star?
No unfortunately. The gentleman pulled it from the market shortly after. Hopefully it pops back up for sale now that the weather is breaking.
Royal star tour deluxe steering is very responsive smooth
Awesome video

WHERE IS MY DANG COOLANT RESOVOIR?! 😭 I have one of these bikes, and I can not for the life of me find anything on where the coolant goes into.
I believe it's by the right passenger foot peg
@@autoavids I'm going to go look now. I don't recall seeing anything there, but. I'm blind to obvious things sometimes, so. Lol.
