i think groundchuck is meant to be a nod to wild west c.o.w.boys of moo mesa since the creator of wild west c.o.w.boys of moo mesa wokes on ninja turtles
The primetime special! So I didnt make that memory up after all. It was real! Awesome.
Yup!! It only aired once in my area, in prime time. Once I found the aneurysm encodes, they had split it up into two episodes. It's been said that it aired in repats on Saturday mornings, but I know that's not true; at least in North America. I didn't see the full-length version until the DVD set came out. Part 2 isn't missing too much; some filler dialogue from Shredder and another of Herman's sabotaged weapons; plus the scene where the Turtles find the sleeping Herman in his lair leads to a rushed commercial break.
@DeletableMan: The year before "Planet of the Turlteliods aired (1990), CBS also aired the TMNT fourth season episode" The Big Cufflink Caper" in Primetime. Really enjoyed watching both of these episodes, and Planet of The Turtleliods quickly became a favorite episode of mine thanks to reruns and my eventual purchase of the fifth season on DVD. Despite never purchasing either Groundchuck or Dirtbag's action figures as a child, I am sure that I would have enjoyed playing with them. Especially since unlike many of the other characters whom only got one appearance because their action figure was in stores, these guys appeared twice in the cartoon and made several appearances in the video games.
Really hope that they do show up eventually in the Saturday Morning Adventures comic books, since many other forgotten characters from the classic cartoon have returned in its pages.
I loved um both! Was nice seeing them return Shredder's Revenge!
Awesome video and I like both Groundchuck and Dirtbag I think they’re pretty interesting characters and I never had the original toys but I do have the NECA figures and maybe we’ll get ones from Super 7 in the future and too bad we didn’t see them in any other TMNT animated series but the comic book version I haven’t seen yet but I’ll look forward to seeing that in a future video.
By the final appearance of Kerma, Dirtbag and Groundchuck the Technodrome was in the city’s river.
Groundchuck was in TMNT 2 on NES.
@@nehemiahpouncey3607 I see.
Ground chuck was supposed to be call Bullseye. Just look at him, the name suits him so much better.
I love those two. I had Groundchuck as a kid and my brother had Dirtbag. I wish they were as prominent as Bebop and Rocksteady are.
He was also in the TMNT 2 game on
NES.
Remember groundchuck was also
In the TMNT 2 game as the boss.
I think that was part 3. But I'm not sure.
@@gjergjaurelius9798It was part 3.
Although the story around them was quite.... conicidental, i really liked them. No one beats Bebop and Rocksteady though, but they were interesting characters as well. I was so excited to see them in Shredder's Revenge.
Thanks for the video ❤
I remember watching this on TV when it first aired. It was some hour long special or something, right? I think I just turned 6 so the memories are foggy. I do remember it though
Yeah.
Alot of people have forgotten about Zack the 5th ninga 🐢
He has a video on him!
My favorite TMNT duos are
Bebop and Rocksteady and Tokka and Rahzar.
but I rarely like Groundchuck and Dirtbag and Wingnut and Screwloose.
RIP David Wise
I’ve always liked them both ever since I got their toys when they came out.(got the Neca toon versions too) I remember loving that prime time special because I was so excited to see them! Wish they had more toon appearances. And sucked they were never in the Archie comics. Loved seeing them in the games when I’d play them. They definitely don’t get enough love. My 2nd favorite duo after Bebop & Rocksteady.(Tokka & Rahzar 3rd) Can you imagine if we had Sgt.Bananas & King Lion Heart to back up the tmnt in this ep too?!
There's a lot of cooooooiiiincideeence in these episodes.
That joke was horrendously unfunny. I had to slam the forward button on my keyboard to throw the video ahead every time to get it away.
Oh well, it is unlikely that another video will have these many coincidences.
I love Groundchuck. I had a figure of him for a long time. Love me some bull characters.
Wingnut and Screwloose were good, outside of the cartoon. :) Maybe as bad guys, in some games.
Mole and bull
if I recall correctly, in the italian dub the mole (Dirtbag) is actually "Bang Bang" ...not sure why in Italy they picked this name, probably because he's a miner 😂
Take a look at the bad guy in a movie "Arena" looks just like groundchuck.
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES PLANET OF THE TURTLOIDS!
Could it be possible that Rocksteady and Bebop gained memories from the animals they were mutated from as part of the process?
If that was the case, they would be the only mutants who gained memories from the animals they borrowed genes from.
🎶 Coincidence!!!🎼
Will there one day be a video covering the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from the TMNT Adventures distributed by Archie comics?
Maybe I could cover that particular story again at some point in the future. But you can already check out the Mutanimals video for it.
@@TheTurtleNexus if the four horseman were to be in one of the adaptations, which one do you think would have fit for them? Not sure about the 80’s incarnation, maybe the 2012 incarnation with the tales episodes.
This is right around the time I stopped tuning into the TMNT show. Love the game still and some of toys but I was just done!😂
Well I don’t why Grundchuck has to wear that metal piece on the right of his head as he looks like Taurus Balboa from Darkwing Duck and speaking of you know about Alex Winter aka Megavolt.
I find them very boring because I would have like to the lion and gorilla getting mutated what’s next a tiger and Jackal, a Penguin and a Walrus or a toad and a Sabretooth (Deadpool and Wolverine if you didn’t get that reference)
Speaking of the IDW I guess you can do Armaggon and what about Dogpound and Fishface in 2012 series?
For some reason, I never made the connection between Groundchuck and Taurus Bulba; more accurately his F.O.W.L.-enhanced form that returned in the revival comic. I of course knew the Megavolt connection since that was one of the few Red Sky episodes that aired in my area.
1 Bebop/Rockstedy
2 Toka/Rahzar
3 War/Armagon
4 Gen Tragg/Sgt Granitor
5 Groundchuck/Dirtbag
Sever/Bradford 😅
That's not how you spell dirtbag...
@moonlightdawn7249 you think😂
Absolutely the most wasted/forgettable mutant duo ever!
Suffice it to say that they were so irrelevant that they didn't even appear in the 2012 series!
PS: where do the scenes where "coincidence" is shouted come from?
The "coincidence" running gag comes from "Arrested Development."
Groundchuck didn't appear in the 2012 series, but he did some sort of cameo in the comic based on the show.
Tattoo broke the mutagen plot logic... up until this episode, humans or animals could mutate into anthropomorphic animals, but never had an animal turned into a normal person with all human traits.
That whole thing really annoyed me when I saw this episode as a kid for the first time. Not only how nonsensical it was to have a hamster mutate into a sumo wrestler, but that they essentially "wasted" one of the characters in such a stupid way.
Dirtbag was in that handheld game? Was he the level 4 boss? I always assumed that was Leatherhead.
Also, why does he only wear one boot?
The one boot thing was a common rule for many playmates toys. Generally, not two legs looked the same.
You seriously abused that coincidence gag to the point it got irritating.
I could have ran the gag for every single coincidence, but decided to only do it for those few. Sometimes one has to test where the boundaries are. 😋
It was perfect
@@t045tSKT no. I'm sorry to say. But no.
