I've reverted my service menu back to default and I agree the colours look better and overall picture quality is more crisp. This latest firmware is great.
I follow your channel closely. I have been using a 65S95B for 8 months. The first detail that caught my eye with 1622 fw is that the TV is now flowing like oil :) It is surprising, but I did not expect such good motion detection. THANKS SAMSUNG
Thanks for following me! Yes, the motion is awesome now with 1622! I highly recommend everyone to upgrade to it shy of anyone on the O.G. Firmware 1098 (which is not likely since this was back in March of 2022)
I have read that the combination of keys to enter the service menu with firmware 1640 it doesn't work anymore, i have an QN90B with 1602 and i woud like to update to 1640 but only if i can use mod lux ! Someone knows something ?
Hi bro,so i updated my s95b to 1622,sound is the same i think, remote works so much faster, thats what we need, motion is little bot better,i just checked if my settings stay the same, blur 4 and judder 4 but i noticed they erased google voice from tv☹️
BTW I saw a video of vincent comparing HDR10 and dolby vision and how if you properly set hdr10 to about warm 50 it should be fine, is there any advanced hdr settings we can toggle by chance?
Hi bro✌️ i totally agree with you,i notice same issue when changed ana peak 2 to 1023,tv was way more brighter but i notice hdr was too strong, whites also was too bright,i cant watch hdr at night cause this,i even turn down brightness to 10 but still was something wrong,i am still on 1520 but i will update to 1622 soon, great video, thanks for sharing✌️ greetings from Scotland🫶
Hi! Custom just means you can manually set DCI-P3 or BT.2020. As far as my 2-point settings, I will not give those out as those are for professional calibration and even if you were to use those settings, it will not looks exactly like my TV as there is panel variance. I know people give those out, but they aren’t supposed to as it will not look exactly the same and will affect accuracy. Professional Calibrators will not give those out either unless there’s an error with the TV color itself, and generally it’s its one color to be adjusted a few clicks.
@@icemanandbobtechandgaming oh yeah sry, I mixed up the 2-points with the color space settings. Do you have specific numbers there aswell or are those different between units also? 🤔
Hi! I'll try and do that, but it would mean messing up my calibration once again. On Firmware 1622, it doesn't matter if you only have one turned on or both, it messes the colors, crispness, and detail of the image regardless. It used to be an improvement, but not on the latest Firmware (1622). I don't recommend it if anyone is on that firmware. Previous firmware versions are a different story and you will see an improvement to do the Service Menu Mods.
When using FW 1622 I do see your settings for HDR do I use the OEM numbers ? Also game mode is in auto , and HDR tone mapping is on basic with game hdr on ,is this correct?
Hi! The OEM numbers will be what anyone will have by default on Firmware 1622. I recommend using my settings as a foundation and tweak any specific setting to your liking from there if you aren't satisfied as this will give you a solid foundation accuracy wise. Regarding Auto Game Mode HDR Tone Mapping, that is correct, yes. I haven't spent a ton of time with it on Firmware 1622, but it appears that all the Game HDR Tone Mapping is working correctly now.
There was a slight increase in nits full field, but it wasn’t a huge difference full field, but there is a noticeable difference in smaller windows where it really counts. This will increase the perceived brightness overall.
@@icemanandbobtechandgamingI got my S95B with update 1448 so I never got to experience the SDR brightness from 1430. I like as much brightness as possible. How would you say 1622 SDR full field and windows compares to 1430 full field and windows? And have you had a chance to test PC Mode much? I've noticed that PC Mode SDR Gaming is noticeably brighter compared to using the standard PS5/Game Console SDR Game Mode. Have you ever noticed this?
Hey iceman have a question so when im playing games on my s95b in hdrin bright areas if map my tv has a significant brightness in crease but when i move in game from that area it snaps back to extremely dimm never noticed this issue till i updated how do i fix this? All eco settings are already off.
Hi! Once we update to a firmware version, it's impossible to go back to a previous firmware version no matter the TV or brand. When you said, "revert back to the original" do you mean the day one firmware from 2022, or were you on another firmware version? I'm just trying to understand your reasoning for wanting to reverb back to a previous firmware when this one is superior to all the others, only possibly shy on the day one firmware back in 2022.
I have a question I followed your settings and everything looks wonderful but when I play Top Spin the settings changed even the color space . Is this normal that the settings change on sports titles
Hi! I believe Top Spin is still currently on SDR, and does not have HDR available (unless they updated it without my knowing). This would drastically change how the game looks being that if you've been playing HDR games and then go to an SDR game, it will automatically alter the picture presentation. If this is the case, this is normal. Another possible factor could be somehow your Game Mode is switching from say RPG to Sports (which will have different picture settings unless you match them in all Game Modes). I would bring up the Game Hub when switching between Top Spin and another game to be sure that isn't changing.
Sorry for the late reply! On this firmware (1622), you don't need Ana Peak adjustments, it actually ruins how the image quality looks despite measuring brighter. They've changed the Tone Mapping on Firmware 1622, so I wouldn't recommend making Ana Peak changes. I would definitely turn off the screen dimming option and leave all the others as is.
The OEM numbers are what it will default to on Firmware 1622. No one has to put those numbers in unless you want to reset your picture settings after making adjustments (it will default back to the OEM numbers). My recommended picture settings will give you more ooomph and still retain accuracy if you want a little more in the image without ruining the picture quality.
RTINGS showed a considerable nerf of HDR brightness. I currently am with 1310 and the brightness is good, without any SM mods. Whats the motive to go 1622 really? Thanks.
Hi! Did RTINGS show a nerf of Firmware 1622 brightness? I'm not sure how as I have not seen that from measurements or actual content, nor have anyone else mentioned this. Firmware 1622 is better than 13XX across the board. Motion is better, the accuracy while still maintaining brightness, no need to go into the service menu to gain any brightness, detail and clarity are better, the UI has been greatly improved, and a few other things. Normally I would say stay on an older firmware, but this is a definite recommend to update. The only con is the TV speakers seem to have less volume after the update, but if you use a soundbar or receiver, it won't matter. They can fix this though in "another" update.
@@icemanandbobtechandgaming I've read that compared to 13xx , there is an SDR Nerf (~165-370 nits) and Game HDR is undertracking so you might need maxlux. What you think
