The throw by Jorgy was one of the greatest plays in MLW history, unreal play
If Dan does't slide would the outcome be different? I don't like the slide there.
@@robosburn5621 What I imagine Dan was thinking was that, since throws home are usually aimed higher to hit the NET rather than the player, he thought sliding would put his upper body out of the line of fire. I also don't think Jorgensen meant for his throw to be as low as it was, since the ball hitting the ground slows it down. That play was, more than anything I think, a series of crazy factors.
His whole series was pretty good. The Gators are scary. If they can get some hits they are hard to beat.
Not like he meant to do that. He just threw it as hard as he could trying to get it to the net. Dan stuck his leg right into the path of the ball. If he just runs across the plate without sliding hes safe. Still a crazy play nonetheless
@@robosburn5621 I think that if he didn't slide, he probably would have reached home before the ball had a chance to get to him.
Szerlag went from getting carried by Cheetam and Jorgi last year, to saving their skin multiple times this season.
I have been thinking the same thing, he's taken his game to a new level this year.

I'm not a proponent of allowing a pitcher to go all three games. I think the limits should be the same as the reg season. This would also cause teams who have one star pitcher to look for a second in the draft instead of just looking for the best hitters. The Gators need to find some depth - just for certain situations that come up during any random game. Great going guys (not giving away the winner).

I completely agree tbh there's no reason to ever play more then 3 guys as long as ur pitcher is a stud. Makes it kinda boring would allow for more strats if the limit stayed the same.
Agreed. What sport changes the fundamental rules in the playoffs? They qualified to the playoffs with 2 pitchers, seems ridiculous that they can choose to use only 1 in the playoffs. And way less interesting to watch imo.

Crazy series. Also wild how the Gators are back in the NLCS but it feels so different this year. Szerlag career year has been huge!
If you don't want spoilers, don't read the comments before you watch the series. That being said,
this loss by the Eagles comes down to one thing. Poor management. Sorry Dan. Keeping Blade Walker out of the series after how he performed in the last series was an unexplainable mistake. You K'd all day long and still didn't pinch hit for yourself in the bottom of the 4th, 3rd game. I don't get it. Blade can not only hit, but he can take a walk too. I hope you at least learned something. Congrats Gators. If Jorgy is on, the DBacks are going to have some competition. Szerlag is shining at the plate.

WOW. Who knew a series long pitchers duel would be so incredibly intense
and fun to watch. One of my favorite series of the last couple seasons.
Takeaways:
Game 1
- WOW WHAT A GAME 1
- CHRIS CHEETAM IS THAT DUDE. Balls of steel to not walk Daniel.
Ugly game for Chris at the plate but that was easily the best I've
seen him pitch
- Daniel pitched a gem as well. Super high pressure situations for
both guys and they were both able to get out of jams. That was honestly
the best pitching duel I've seen all year. 17K's combined for them both.
- I know Cheetam has the power and Jorgy has his streaks but is Szerlag
the Gators best hitter now? Dude is unreal.
- The Eagles relay in Game 1 then the Gator's peg in the 3rd were defensive
gems.
-Easily one of the more fun and intense games of the year.
Game 2
- NO HITTER FOR DAN THE MAN. Dialed in on the mound all series. Gators were able
to put the ball in play a few times but he had them popping out a lot.
- That may have been the best I've seen Jorgy pitch all year as well. Insane
movement. Tons of K's. Dallas just tagged him on a couple pitches and it cost
the Gators.
- Gators realllllyyy struggling to put in runs. They've had a couple innings
where they get guys on base but strand them, and then other innings where they
go 3 up 3 down.
- Dallas Allen, ROY. Enough said.
Game 3
- BRENDAN SZERLAG LEGACY SERIES. Once again. This dudeeee.
- Cheetam with another gem. 1-hitter. 18 K's on the series. My guy
needs more respect as a true ace in the league. That was the most dominant
he's ever been.
- Daniel needs credit for the series he pitched. Went all 3 series and gave
up.. what, 4 total hits? You can't fault the guy.
Series came down to elite pitching. You can't fault the guys at the plate
when Daniel, Chris and Jorgy were pitching the best they ever have. It literally came down to 4-5 ABs that swung whatever game it was. Literally a game of inches. Eagles have a solid foundation as they continue to transition to this new core. I don't see any big moves they need to make as Dallas looks like an easy future All-Star and Blade looks like a potential future roster mainstay.
Happy to see my Gators moving on and continuing that title defense...
Gators. D-Backs. Insane. D-Backs deserve to be Vegas favorites. Their pitching depth could really mess up the Gator bats but this is the best the Gators themselves have pitched all year. Our final four is set ladies and gents.

I’ve gotta say, not walking schultz bottom of the 3rd in game 1 was really ballsy and I love it.

Game 1 ending was epic! wow. This series hero was quite unexpected, good to see! Didn't know the Eagles had 12 guys on the roster!

As a self-proclaimed MLW Analyst, here are my thoughts on the NLDS;
-It is most defiantly safe to say that we were pretty surprised by the outcome of this series. All season the Gators looked too inconsistent but look who pulled through at the end of the day.
-Eagles absolutely could have won this series. I was looking around and saw a comment about the poor management, and that's completely true. Dan could've taken advantage of his depth in players but instead didn't, which ended up costing him the series.
-Can the Gators beat the Dbacks? Nope
Didn't even give Blade a swing after his 1.727 OPS series against the same team.
Hands down a deciding factor

This series really illustrates how dominant pitching is over hitting in the league. It didn't help the Eagles here, but that's why I'm not a fan of no innings limit in the playoffs--you really shouldn't be able to ride just 1 guy on the hill through the playoffs (if you so choose). Just my opinion.

Did anyone else notice szerlags enthusiasm right before stepping in the box and hitting the most clutch Homer of his career?
