The only thing I know from 1980 that looks this good after all these years is me. Although ya still gotta put a drip pan under me when ya park me.
Tank looks like Royal Enfield Bullet !
Factory HD
Very impressive, Todd. Good find.
How in the fuck did you find that , That's a grand slam.
steve kwall LOL Steve, I looked
+steve kwall Craigs List, and LUCK
Even with 3200 you think you would find some blemishes and no dry rot on the the side walls amazing good find
steve kwall the bike is shocking in how nice it is. Look through the pictures www.flickr.com/photos/34150794@N04/albums/72157653388662913/page1
Wow that is about as clean as you can find!
It looks to have only 32 miles on it. Amazing!
Thanks todd
Fantastic find.
Amazing find, nice one
That really is amazing. It must have been stored in a vacuum LOL
+midlantic1 Best 1980 i've ever had
@@HuntingHarleys did you ever get the story on how this bike eas stored? Absolutely amazing
Heated and clean environment
HI Todd, I was going thru some of your past vids and came to this one. I have to ask if this bike ever sold. Normally I think that owning a bike is no good unless you ride it a lot,but this one is so unique, I'm inclined to believe just the opposite. I hope that the new owner has a museum. There's still lots of these still available with a blemish or two...........Thanks and take care!
+jeff brown one of the many I wish I could of kept.
big twin heaven omg keeper
Call this one bubble bike as it was stored in a vacuum bubble for 35 years!! You would think the gaskets would need to be replaced at least from just lack of use......WOW!!
clean as a whistle
WoW!!!
sounds like you want to keep her.
jojojeep1 that's the problem with this "job", They are all mine until I sell them
+jojojeep1 one of the many I would of loved to keep
It’s got gold decals, 1980 candy red used silver, u said no tire rot, the Goodyear’s had rot sitting on the showroom floor,
I was there, bought a grand new 1981 FXS Lowrider. You're incorrect
HuntingHarleys don’t understand what is incorrect, 1980 candy red bikes have silver and black decals, got it new oct 15 , 1979, in 1980 blue also had silver & black decals ,
There was more then one decal type in 1980. I've had dozens of OP 1980s
HuntingHarleys all the sportster and fx’s had the bar and shield in 1980, black bike gold , red, blue bikes silver decals, with AMF on top
Wow either 1 they really took good care of it, and or 2 they didn't use it at all. Which why would you by any bike for if you aren't gonna use it?
I've bought bikes 20 years old with 600 original miles, more then once
This is very nice love it.. Just wondering how much something like this sells for in the USA?? Poor to good bikes in aus go for 10to12k but this would be a 25k bike in my eyes
Rylea Peehi depends on the year and model, they can go 5k to 25k
+Rylea Peehi this sold for 10k, T O P dollar here
Hy Todd , is it the "mummy's bike" or the bike of the mummy ? thanks for your bikes videos .
Ritchy's Polishing this bike is truly amazing, best 1980 FXE I've ever had
Cool 1980 the yeare Christina Ricci was born. I'd say she's the cutest chick of the 80s. Well let me clarify. Remember i'm blind. So cutest sounding at least. No comment on looks as I can't see. So can't judge.
I just can't understand why anybody would go to the trouble of caring for this bike all those years and sell it. It must have been an inheritance.
jeff brown He died, the widow sold it
+jeff brown he died
re remember when you posted this video originally and was blown away then. How much did the lucky buyer end up spending on it?
Been too long, I forget
Nice machine but I would lose the windshield it doesn't belong on this Bike.
I thought they went to the 80" in 1980? I am just a young fella getting into the game sorry if its a dumb question.
knock harder not Dumb at all. 1978 saw the introduction of the 80 cubic on a special edition FLH called the 5H FLHS. Mid 1978 Harley started making select models in an optional 80 cubic version. During the 1978 model year, HD also offered an expensive "hop up" kit to 80 cubic of new flywheel assembly with pistons and cylinder's in their accessory catalog's. The 1200 continued to be offered as standard fair in the 9D model FXE 1200, 7E FLHS 1200, 7H FLH 1200 Shrine Edition and the 8H 1200 FLH Police Edition throughout their introduction of said models until the end of the 1980 model year (1980's can be determined by the last two of the motor or frame number as they end in JO, the model numbers mention have these sequences as the 1st two of the motor and frame number, regardless of year, 1970 - 1980). 1981 Introduced the introduced of the 1HD1 frame number sequence, initiated the buy out from AMF to Harley Corporate and brought the entire line of Harley Big Twin's to 80 cubic inch status. At no time did Harley mention their models in advertising by the VIN call letter's I have stated. These are on the motor and frame number sequence and this is the only way to tell if the bike was produced as an 80 or 74 cubic machine on the machine itself as I have pointed out people could and DID convert 74's to 80's. In 1980, it was a big thing to have an "80 80", even though many Big Twins produced were still 74 cubic (1200cc).
Wow! Thank you for the history lesson. I am incredibly interested in the history of The Motor company. I enjoy all of your videos. But am especially excited about the shovelhead era because thats what I can afford. You do us a great service in making your videos, so sincerely, thank you
knock harder it is my life's dream to put together a complete history museum of Harley history 1999 back, before more of the real history is lost forever.
That is one hell of a dream and so damn awesome! I hope it happens for you because I sure as hell would go check it out. Thanks again for the online history
knock harder if your going to reach, might as well reach for the moon, you just might get there :)

lol, brother I figured you would know I was joking (hence the wink smile after the ridiculous price). I had no doubt it was long gone. If it was a current sale, believe me, I would have made a much better offer.
I did, so I made a sarcasm right back at ya
