I've really been enjoying watching your reactions to this series so far. You don't talk to fill the silence, so you're able to catch all the bits you would miss otherwise. Looking forward to diving (no pun intended!) into your S2 reactions shortly!
Season 2 manages to hit hard even for people who thought "Surely I'm used to Made in Abyss by now". That being said, it is definitely worth going on. The small glimmers of light this show has hit so much harder specifically because of all the darkness you need to sit through to get to them. And season 2 is an all around amazing experience that you should not deprive yourself of simply because you know it is going to be soul crushing. That is honestly how I would describe the progression of this series: Season 1: Heart breaking The movie: Gut wrenching Season 2: Soul crushing Anyway, enjoy!
Yup. You watch season 1 and now that you've tasted the darkness you think you're ready for what comes next, and then the movie gut punches you and reminds you that is the Abyss. And after the devastation you just went through, you're thinking that there's NO WAY it could get worse and that you're ready to take the next steps. And then season comes along and once again reminds you that THIS IS THE ABYSS! THERES NOWHERE TO GO BUT DOWN BABYYYYYYY Tsukushi is a master at one-upping himself, and there is absolutely no way we can tell what's gonna happen next. I can't wait to see what horrors the 7th layer holds!
@@Dragon-Believer for me, season 2 is just… different kind of experience, different kind of sadness- it isn’t worse or better, just different, I can’t compare
yea, at a glance he seems like a regular mad scientist, but as you learn more about him and dive into his dialogue, he is just a motionless "machine" that seeks extreme efficiency.
@@wolbing9948 But not su much people talks about the metaphore at the end, when he recover a new body. He was at his peak of madness, because he was very close to have a 'blessing body', and he reachs his goal at this end of the movie but Reg and Rico destroyed it. And after that he tells to Nanachi that is focus is now to help them into their journey, and when we last saw him we see his face with his new body witch is a real human face. In a way the Rico's team gives back his 'humanity' to him by their bravery, kindness, and love.
And don't forget that his research and inventions have improved the lives of the people who live in Orth. When you consider that his goal is to enable returning from the literal point of no return, what's a few dead orphans in the grand scheme of things?
I would recommend you to take some time before reacting to season 2 because it will hit hard.... I read the manga before and even with knowing what was going to happen, i was not ready to see it animated, anyone was.... And I'm scared for what it comes next in the manga....
Hah if you think I'm responsible and smart enough to do that you've got another thing coming. There might not be anything left of me within the next couple of weeks but I'm getting through this show.
The movie made way too many omissions compared to the manga and didn't do Bondrewd justice at all, which is obvious as you seem to not have changed your opinion at all even after watching the whole arc. and still wish him dead. If you have time and are interested, you may look up a couple of explanation videos on TH-cam that go into the manga and help you understand why this character is far from a black-and-white "villain" and even has so many fans.
Some people really like Bondrewd thinking he is not really a villain and some hate him completely, some people understand that he is not black and white and a very intriguing character but still think he should die for all the things he did. And this happens both with manga readers and anime onlys, i don't think the omissions in the movie make people hate him, its just that people judge and value things differently.
I didn't do a very good job of explaining my feelings in this as I was just drained but I did go over this in my reaction to the first episode of season two.
IMO season 1 was the most emotional of all. The movie has not depicted all the scenes, but from the manga it's clear that Prushka knew about the cartridges since a long time ago, and intentionally sacrificed herself for Bondrewd's (and of course also Riko's) sake. Also, if you think about it, becoming a white whistle is probably the only practical way she can really "go on an adventure" with Riko. (Also, her spirit lives on in the white whistle and is able to converse with Riko, as you'll see later.) So while the story is very thought-provoking and the movie is well-animated, the emotional impact is not the same as Mitty's part.
Halfway through the movie: "I hope Prushka can join Riko on her adventures"
After the movie: "Not like this... not like this 😭😭😭"
But she did though whats wrong? Bondrewd best dad ensured that
Well she did say that she wanted to become a white whistle...
Bondrewd always provides 🤣
but prushka still happy
all of the soundtracks are bangers. Kevin Penkin is a true legend
Absolutely I've had some tracks on TH-cam going the past few days

I'm so glad you enjoyed! I seriously can't wait for season three though I'm not sure I'm ready for it.

I thought Season 2 was fine. It was sad but nowhere close to Season 1.

"yes, i think i can manage that, prushka."
I cry every time I rewatch it too, man, it's painful
Now this is a reaction... just raw emotions... we're crying along side you sir o7
Prushka made the cutest juice box!
You are never emotionally ready for Made in Abyss
There are also 4 mini episodes of "Marulk's Daily Life" that came out after the movie if you want to see something happier before S2.

I think it does him justice you just have to think and pay attention to what he says while also putting hatred aside to think rationally
