- Ok guys - time for our first Evan and Katelyn cooking video! We thought we’d start it off with the recipe we make the most… and gasp it’s NOT tacos! Recipe and tools (I mean, utensils?) below! 👇
🍴 RECIPE (for 2)
• Broccoli (2ish heads, enough to cover the bottom of large skillet)
• 1.5-2 tbsp minced garlic
• Salt (generous sprinkling all over)
• Pepper (to taste)
• Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)
• Olive oil
Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-high. Add broccoli and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Once broccoli starts to soften, add garlic. Stir pretty frequently to prevent garlic from burning. Cook to desired crispy level and serve with pasta :)

Okay, not gonna lie. Seen this a month after the fact. But! Here is my take on why we need an Evan and Katelyn cooking channel:
You're down to earth, like good food. Those are good things to have - we know it'll be real food and not something that's fancy just for the sake of it
You're pretty practical people and busy, so the food is probably going to not take ages to make, which is really helpful for those of us who have energy deficiencies
And you're actually normal human beings, so it's not gonna cost a bajillion moneys to make

Evan, eight and a half years ago: “I know what will impress that Katelyn gal I fancy - MAGIC BROCCOLI!”
This was in Katelyn's darker phase where she had a blue streak in her hair, she asked if Evan could get hold of some magic mushrooms and Evan, with his childlike innocence didn't understand and thought she wanted a nice meal. He planned to make garlic mushrooms but the store was all out of mushrooms, they had plenty of broccoli though!
And the rest is history.

I just want to say ever since you uploaded this, this has been my families favorite dish. We add air fried chicken and chicken flavored rice to ours and mix it together and it is so good

I'm in no ways a confident chef and I'm very new to it all BUT I tried this with some minted lamb steaks and buttered new potatoes and WOW its incredible! Super simple, super delicious! Thanks guys :)

at first i thought so, too. but looking at how much oil they were adding (i think the garlic was in oil as well), that amount will probably fill you up either way. i love broccoli and steam it a lot, but i usually dont add fat at all - which means i can easily eat a whole head including stem (peel the stem and include it, its perflectly fine) without feeling too stuffed :)

This looks absolutely delicious and I'm not a huge broccoli fan. However, the crispiness might do it for me. Gotta try this now.
Broccoli magically changes when it has those crispy edges. Another method is olive oil, cracked salt and cracked peppercorn in the oven and I can eat it like chips

This is going to be my dinner today
I make a similar broccoli, just oven roasted so it’s all super crispy and toasted (I like the “too burnt” pieces lol). Lots of garlic, then I sometimes add a bit a good sprinkle of Parmesan at the end of cooking (don’t want cheese to burn, so I do it at the very end or just after I take it out of oven), and always end it with a healthy squeeze of lemon. Yummm.

Now he saw you eating broccoli and he begged to make it, so we did. It was so much fun and im so glad to see him eating healthy. We made it with some rice and it was amazing!! I Maked this today and its AMAZING! Just advice for People who uses fresch garlic to use maximum one spoon cause its stronger.
Broccoli, and specifically broccoli this way, is my favorite veggie hands-down. I totally didn’t think other people cooked and ate broccoli like this. I do this (though I don’t add salt, and I don’t season it ‘til after) and now I have to try it like you guys made) and add some chicken breast in there and serve it over pasta, either with just the garlic and oil or with alfredo sauce. This video validated me.
Do you put raw or pre cooked broccoli in the flat pan? Cause raw would probably taste better if freezing, but pre cooked needs less time in the flat pan, so less difference between pieces and thus less burning/raw pieces
I do steamed/microwaved broccoli with ranch dressing (or homemade ranch seasoning + yogurt, etc) over mashed potatoes. Pasta works, too. Jack cheese on top. Sounds horrible, but actually tastes great. Finally served it to my father (who hates ranch) without telling him what it was. "This is good!"
@@ninao8460 Pre cooked? Do you mean par-boiled prior to freezing? (Dunked in boiling water for a few seconds.) Because if it was actually cooked cooked, it would be mush when you go to use it.
My mom always managed to make every vegetable she cooked soggy (plus rice, which is disgustingly impressive) and the second I saw someone cook vegetables in oil and make them a little crispy? Life. Changing.
