Experimenting with Watercolors on Miniatures

This is just a look at some experimentation I've been doing with watercolor paints. Specifically these Qor paints from Golden Acrylics which you can find here - amzn.to/3WJrGej

I use them instead of oils for washes sometimes. They perform much the same way. Thin, apply, dry, wipe off. In some ways it is easier and more controllable than oil and in others is harders. Its a trade off. Can also blend in the same way you would with oils. Apply a dot, clean brush and feather. Fun for weathering. Another fun point : weather pencils you can buy are watercolor, so they exist in the hobby already. Am waiting for one of the big channels to realise this and start frothing over them.

Using them really thin like that would make for an interesting blanchitsu-style effect. You can still get that rich color, but diluted and wiped away they might give some cool effects. (and I'm a sucker for any quinacridone color. they're so earthy and rich!)

The more I play with them the more I think they'll make it into my regular rotation.
