That’s the thing with Barry, it’s got lovely sandy beaches. It’s the shame about the water. I remember when I was a kid, I thought sea water was like that everywhere. Then one day we went for a holiday down to Seaton on the south coast. My mum was sitting on the beach close to the water’s edge when I went paddling. I couldn’t believe I could see my feet in the water. I shouted loud as hell to my mum several times."look mum I can see my feet in the water". She was so embarrassed that she had to come and look, just to shut me up. Love the video👍👍
Yeah it's definitely not the best, our Welsh Water should be ashamed what they allow to be pumped in the the Bristol channel 👊🤨 Glad you enjoyed the & brought back found memories 😊👌🏴

How the weather has changed since you filmed this. It had been unusually dry. Have you seen any snow yet? Nice to acknowledge challenges of life and to keep going regardless - inspirational Steve mate ❤
Just think the romans went swimming on these beaches 1000s of years ago. Of cause the land was different back then. I wondered what they called that place 👍👍
The only thing I've heard of it being called was Fish Island, I think it was due to it being shaped like a fish before it was connected to the mainland 🐠 😎👌🏴
That’s the trouble, sometimes people don’t appreciate what they have on their own doorstep. They think by travelling somewhere else, it’ll be better. My ex was the same, she would say. Let’s go to porthcawl for the day. I personally think Barry island is far better.
I love Barry Island & fell in love with it after my first visit! What's not to love? First of all, the 'magical train' takes you all the way to the fun fair which is mins walk to the beautiful sandy beach! The chippy on the corner serves the best Irish chicken curry & chips, the ice cream at the cafe that features in Gavin & Stacey is as Stacey would describe 'so lush', as is the gelato at the other end of the esplanade! Everyone I met was super welcoming, very warm, friendly & chatty, which you don't find everywhere, plus in England, we don't hear the Welsh language on the train (obviously 😂) , which makes you feel like you're abroad, which makes it even more exciting! There's also a lovely, cosy little Indian restaurant nestled somewhere along the back streets behind Wetherspoons too and, you can even walk up to Trinity Street where Stacey & her Mum & Uncle Brynn lived! Awww I have such fond memories of Barry Island... Where all the magic started & will never end! :) Ps Don't forget to tune into BBC 1 at 8.30pm Christmas Day for the very last & final episode of the one and only Gavin & Stacey! 😊 😢 😢 The only complaint I have is that Gavin & Stacey & the rest of the cast don't actually live there! 😔 😢
What I heard but I don’t know if it’s true or not. That the rents for those units are deliberately high. So then they can apply for planning to turn them to small apartments. If they’re not rented out.
By any chance do you mind me asking what medication solved your back issues as iv been in a rough way and recently joined a private cannabis clinic in Cardiff and iv never been so mobile so I just wondered if the same meds had solved your back issue if its to mutch of a personal question I understand my friend, but being able to self medicate and still keep my driving licence to be mobile has changed my life so I was just curious ?
