Thank you so much for tuning in to today's video. I hope you're having a great week and enjoy this vlog. I'm so excited to share a sneak peek of my first bridal themed sewing project.
I've been gifted the most incredible vintage wedding dress that originally belonged to my Fiancés Grandma. This Chantilly lace dress hasn't been worn for 73 years and I have the honour of being allowed to alter it for our wedding celebrations.

Both design ideas lovely. I do like the halter style. ❤
I'd go with the first option, especially since it seems more straightforward. This is going to be a challenging project anyway, and I don't think it's a good idea to overcomplicate it. The simple style is elegant and looks lovely on you. I'd leave off the extra buttons.
What a gorgeous dress - and what a challenge for you. I like both your ideas but the 2nd option is my favourite - I think that neckline really suits you and it emphasises your beautiful long neck.
I think the cowl neck compliments your body so well. Whatever you do it's going to be a beautiful dress.

I just recently soaked my baptismal dress made from the skirt of my mom's wedding dress which my youngest wore this past year for her baptism. I just soaked it in Oxi Clean and it did wonders ! I also 100% vote for the cowl neck... And only using the buttons as buttons 😂 ! Have fun with it !

They are both beautiful but I prefer the halter style dress and I thinks it suits you better.
Lux Soap Flakes for a delicate hand wash..... love either design...could you rehash the sleeves... getcsome large pearls from a haberdashery and create a plaited neckline and tie straps? Might look pretty 😍 x

I think the first option is beautiful and so elegant. I am sure you will look lovely whichever design you end up choosing.

I love both but if had to pick, 2. I'm sure there is some kind of cutting magic that will make it happen. There use to be a guy on TV here in the states who's show was about cleaning stains and laundry stuff. I'd definitely research that one, whew.
Option number 2 flatters you the best. Both are beautiful, but the second design is definitely your style. The dress is gorgeous and have fun designing.

It's such a beautiful dress. I like the first option with the halter. Just some more ideas, you could probably do a keyhole back if you use some extra fabric from the sleeves. You could also probably save the cuffs of the sleeves and add different fabric for the upper part if you wanted to have sleeves.

You have to take off any buttons before you soak because they can rust.

Oxi-clean works great. I soaked some vintage lace overnight and it worked magic.
Option 2 cowl neck is really flattering on you.
I prefer option #2. It’s more goddess-y and ethereal, very you. Option #1 reads sporty and not in keeping with the vintage inspiration. Would you also consider an off-the-shoulder option? It would be in keeping with the overall vintage look. I think your shoulders are lovely and feminine.
Gorgeous. What an opportunity. Option 2 deffo. I would imagine some kind of laundry whitener would be the way to go when soaking. Good luck. 😊
I like the drapey cowl neck but you can't go wrong with either design. In regards to laundering it, in the US there's this product called Soak (soak wash) that you can clean things without rinsing them. I use it for delicates. You could also try washing it with something called woolite, which can be rinsed out. As for stains I like Grandma's Secret Spot Remover a lot but I would patch test it.

I think the second option has more style.
It’s lovely. I would soak it in lukewarm water in the bath with some soap flakes and not a regular detergent.
