This is my full review of the AirPods max clones from aliexpress.

Easy tail sign that saves you 20 min or video. Fakes typically don’t have the little holes when removing the ear cups to separate the headband. 2 little holes on the upper potion of headphones
Some fakes have them as well, 1:1 copies won’t be distinguishable that easily.

The other thing would be pair them. If they don’t show up on find my iPhone with the ability to make them play a sound etc then they’re fake
@@BlackGirafe100 just break it, if it's fake or not, listen and ANC and Sound are terrible with fakes, but ANC is very bad with fake
@@BlackGirafe100 Fakes have been reported on Reddit that show up in Find my iPhone so thats not relevant anymore unfortunately.

I unfortunately received a very convincing pair like this from eBay. They sold them as if they were a brand new sealed AirPods Max. They even had the Apple style plastic wrap around the box. But I opened it and it was a little dusty. Trying out transparency mode absolutely proved they were fake. They sounded really bad unlike my AirPods Pro. Luckily I can return them at no charge through eBay. I’ll just stick with a real retail store for these. Your video helped me spot a fake!

I recently bought a pair on ebay for just around 300, and I'm first fear was that the seller might have sold me a pair of fakes, they haven't arrived yet so I'm not sure but I fear they may be at that price, as a backup plan I just went and ordered a pair off amazon as they're an official partner/reseller with apple, luckily I think ebay has a pretty good money back guarantee so I'll be heavily judging the pair I got and if anything looks off I'll try to return it, if they're real then I got lucky but I believe if something is too good to be true then it usually is

@notoriousalien they were fake and I think the guy who didn't want any issues so he refunded me literally right after I reported an issue with them, I didn't even need to get Ebay involved tbh. But just another reason to know that if something seems too good to he true it usually is. Anyway i still got it from amazon a little under retail directly from apple so that's something I guess
On another note if I hadn't watched any of these types of videos I wouldn't have known they were fake but its something I always tend to do when I'm buying something I check out research to know how it should be look feel sound etc
@@BourneIdentity45 damn luckily you bought through ebay so you didn't have any problems. a lot of these scammers will sell through something like facebook and only accept cash so you can't track them back. glad that you didn't get scammed tho
Mate, thank you so much. I bought a pair of what I now know are fakes months ago. I’ve been fighting with random issues, but always thought they sounded pretty good. Good to finally know for sure why. Costly mistake on my part. Live and learn I suppose. Thanks again.
Also, on the back of the box, there is a typo in “Apple Inc”, it reads “Apple Ine”, as well as a reference to “APPle watch”. The little things.

The ear cups on the fakes are close to black and does not come close to space grey.
These were very early clones (quite old video) but I’ve been told the newer ones are even more convincing visually.
I have tried AirPods Max in the Apple brand store and I was pleasantly surprised in terms of comfort, sound quality, noise reduction, etc. It is an excellent product!😀

Sound is okay, but you have to max them out, anything below half and there’s almost no sound.

Nobody should be buying clones on 2023, you’re just throwing your money away, either buy a different brand or save up as AirPods Max 2 will be coming very soon.

Well, I got the originals: Despite Apple's patent arrogance about only being able to update them via Apple hardware, and other restrictions for Android/PC users, I can say they're worth every penny (now that the price has gone down considerably). Balanced, detailed, "open" sound across all frequencies, splendid ANC, superlative transparency mode.
Exactly, taking the ecosystem out of the equation the AirPods max are still fantastic headphones with the best transparency mode I’ve come across, but in the ecosystem there’s nothing even close to what they offer.
Bro you did a fantastic job Im amazed… watching this video is great basically your giving everyone an experience of the real AirPods max before purchasing it… I have 2 genuine ones honestly it sounds exactly like it iPad tracking amazing sounds like the iPad was on my left like actually there in the room, instead of my phone. I thought it was only me, I wear mines all day theres been multiple times I forgot I had it on due to the sound I’m so immersed into it

I don’t have the sellers details anymore so if you want the clones you’ll have to just search for them and pick the ones you’re willing to go for based upon the video.

In transparency mode, do you need to turn the volume down to hear people talking to you still?
If you have the volume cranked high it’ll obviously overpower your surrounding but set about half it should be manageable.
Depends how loud they’re speaking.
But compared to ANC or just off settings there’s a big difference.
I’m of course referring to the genuine items, the clones stopped working long ago.

You will get some leakage as the cups will work as a speaker when turned up
love realizing i was scammed 😂ty for this video! Now that i’m stuck w these replicas, is there any way I could get the buttons replaced with the real ones? there’s no way the apple store would fix this for me right? the clicking sounds are so bothersome.

aw shoot good to know thanks! I was also wondering if you tested whether or not the headband of the fakes come off like the real ones? because most covers need the headband off to cover the ear cups. my headphones are missing the hole that the real have to pop the headband off@@MATechTH-cam
Without the hole it’s not possible
You can try to update the firmware… the fake unit not able to do it
There’s no manual process for firmware update on AirPods anyway is there?
Much easier to just listen to them as the difference is obvious.

They are but the ones I’ve seen aren’t very good quality, not sure if they’ve improved as I did get sent some replicas around the launch time so maybe they’ve improved their quality by now

No, as mentioned many times AliExpress links always change as soon as the seller has sold their stock so no point listing a link, just search for AirPods Max 1:1
That being said if you watch the video you’ll see I don’t recommend clones especially now that you can usually find the original on sale quite often anyway.

what about settings? does the serial number show?
I’m pretty sure I have a pair of these clones. They do show a serial number that checks out as valid on the apple validation site.
They usually use a clone serial number in my experience
Can try to check and update the firmware to confirm whether it is original

They stopped working over a year ago but from what I recall it was pretty tinny and bad.

If anything my video shows why you shouldn’t buy the counterfeit item as it’s garbage.
Besides AliExpress shops never stay for long so the contact in this video (which is a few years old) will have been long gone.
You didn’t show the box of the fake ones
It was very similar to original but you can just tell it’s not the same standard as Apple.
Bare in mind a lot of the replicas now (video is over a year old) will have probably updated their packaging depending on how much you’re paying as I’ve seen replicas range from £20-300.
Do they have a legit serial number?
On the box or settings? It does have serials listed but I’ve never checked to see if they show up or not, I doubt they would.

What I mean is they’ll have a number but it most likely won’t be verified on the apple website, all genuine items can be verified on apples website via their serial number.
