My thoughts exactly. Unless it actually scratches products, rather than cleaning them, the $3 cloth is the only thing I'd buy, and better value than Apple's $19 cloth. In fact, I'd be better off buying Ifixit's cleaning cloths compared to the Apple ones!
It's great that you covered both cheap and expensive clones of earpods!! Most people only cover cheap ones and conclude it's easy to tell them appart.. I was just about to comment that you should have bought more expensive fakes, but the reveal of the black ones got me 😉
it still wasnt a good clone, ive had two clones of the airpods 1 and the 20$ clone was significantly worse than a 30$ clone which sounded identical to the real ones
@@LovroSabljak that is very untrue, you can get 1:1 clones of all airpods except max from an agent called Jenny, just google Jenny airpods and you'll find it easily. Both the sound and the ANC quality is exactly the same, there is absolutely no reason to buy retails.
@@SejLifts eh, you can very likely just check the part codes and you'll find them right away, of course not boards but batteries, speakers and such are definitely off the shelf parts. The only problem is when they decide to scrape part numbers on ICs and such, I hate this stupid behavior. On another note, they even copied the worst part of the originals with the pentalobe screws.
For the AirPods Max, at least here in the US, I believe they're still wrapped in plastic. It's just the new models of things that have moved to the paper tabs. Could be that they're moving inventory that was already wrapped, or the factory for them hasn't been changed away from shrinkwrap.
Thanks for the overview. Yeah, i wouldn't buy any of the electronic items that you have shown, except maybe the big Airpod (to gut out and put better quality internals in). However, I would buy the cleaning cloth, becauae $3 for a cloth is better than $19 for a cleaning cloth.
You said they all not worth buying. But what about the cleaning cloth? I think its a great deal cause the orginal is heavily overpriced and does the same thing
I've seen many people on FB Marketplace selling those Airpods Max and there are the ones who actually tell you those are clones and others who try to pull the "lightly used" or "unwanted gift" trope, which is sad, because I've heard some of the clones of smaller Airpods are good for what they are and really good budget alternatives, but the people who try to pass them as originals are the worse, seriously.
Bought 120$ fake airpods pro 2 years ago and finally got real pro 2’s. While the fake ones dont have noise cancelling they sounded great and maybe even better then any other 100$ earphones. They lasted me all this time and even thought theyre fake. I cant deny how good they are for a silly mistake. (They were listed as refurbished)
These Airpod Max. The Kamino cloners duplicated every small detail but failed to provide a correctly programmed Bluetooth codec. I saw a video about Amazon returns, where the quality Airpod fake is returned instead of the original, causing a rolling problem to successive Amazon's customers. Thank you Mr. Jeffreys for your warning video...
It's not the codec or anything that's the problem, it's the tuning, which is how emphasised certain frequencies are, bass focused headphones boost low frequencies heavily, hearing aids boost high frequencies heavily, etc, these headphones have the low frequencies boosted beyond the point of insanity, causing the distortion even at the lowest volume level, if they turned the low frequencies down, they could be decent.
These fakes are also one of the reasons why Apples pricing doesnt make any sense. Gives scammers more reason to try and scam people with fake products when original price is crazy high.
Given the ever increasing RRP of Apple's wares, I have been tempted to look out for some of their recent products on the 2nd hand market - particularly Airpods / etc. The ear-wax factor alone is pretty off-putting once you start investigating... but the amount of fakes on eBay ultimately just makes the idea seem fraught with the likelihood of ending up with non-Apple garbage. So thanks for answering the other question - should I just go for some non-Apple knock off. And the answer is no.
I consider myself pretty savvy when it comes to scams, but I feel I would have been fooled if I thought I was buying the genuine product with the AirPod Max. Good video.
The bit expensive airpod max would worth it if you could access the motherboard. I fcking love the design but not worth its original price so it i could easily swap the fake one interior and just be happy with it.
It's absolutely INSANE how these companies basically take crap and style it up to the point where the clones look extremely similar to the original! Completely blows my mind!
This isn't a video I'd expect from this channel, but since he clearly had fun with it and didn't just do it for the clicks, I quite enjoy it and would like to see more alongside the regular stuff
I am so surprised how people can think something 5 times more expensive can be that cheap or better say as you said just buy from real shops as some do have real discounts and you can still get a real thing….
2:41i find it incredible how they seem to always nail this cheap look. even from a video i can feel the texture of the cheapest possible, hear the creaks and feel it bend to the touch and yet be brittle as they come.
It would be great if you could purchase and review some of the units that are commonly sought after in replica groups. My daily driver are some knockoff Airpod Pros from Jenny, and they're surprisingly accurate besides some iffy 3D sound and not quite up to par noise cancellation, at around $50 USD before shipping.
I have those too! However they don't support force touch like the originals. It's just tap which is annoying since it summons the assistant each time I put them on
i was sold fake airpod pros from aliexpress. they put them in a real airpods pro box and even came with a lighting charger AND the case actually used lightning connector. but the audio quality was bad and muffled, and the dying sound is what gave it off for me 😅 i was out $70 but its fine, i only buy from official refurbished shops now tho.
I have been using the "AAA" Airpods Pro for some months now, my cousin gave it to me bc the right one stopped working... Just want to add that overall are not that bad, the iPhone recognises it as a genuine airpod so is cool, and the sound quality is acceptable, the gain is crazy tho, I have to use it with the minimum level of volume and sometimes it is too much for my ear haha also the microphone is terrible, people can barely understand when I pick up calls with those, so those fake airpods are just fine if you didn't pay a cent for it but otherwise is not worth anything, if your budget is kinda low but you appreciate quality make the effort for some Sony
I think that it could be repeated with some stuff that might really be worth buying - such as replicas of apple usb-c cables, power bricks (with teardown and rating of components) or some magsafe wallets.
Aliexpress become also quite expensive marketplace to buy in last 2 years. Their prices twice or more than Taobao, the real chinese huge market. Ali is basically a store window, only export oriented, only for foreigners (many chinese complain how they want order there and buy, but can't, don't allow delivery inside China), only a preview of chinese market. Chinese can't buy on Ali, foreigners can't on Taobao (of course if not using third-party).
i had those P9's headphones, it does have a looooooot of base but the bad one, and after 1 month it died, then i bought a neckband Samsung ITFIT headphones, miles better and it's almost 2 years old and still going strong.
Some products cheaper to buy local from big brands, which can hire factories, like Active noise cancelling headphones on Ali started min from like $70, but locally french Auchan sells same under umbrella brand Qilive only for $30 near you. I can't believe people travel without such on airplanes, a real miracle to ears against noise headache.
