I love this! Also to share a tip about meal prep: the whole meal doesn't have to fit in a container to microwave. You can do a mix of cooked vegetables and protein for the week, then put the exact same thing on top of a salad, then in tacos, then over rice, on a potato, etc. It helps with not getting bored of what you made.
That’s exactly what I do! Interestingly enough, contrary to most of my ADHD friends who prefer the consistency (not having to think about it 🤔😨😅) of eating the same thing every day, I crave a little bit of variety, but having staples ready when you’re short of time saves me from a ton of guilty cheating and unnecessary money spending when outside and unprepared 😰 Thank you Sarah!!! 🥰🙏🏼
Really appreciate the incorporation of 'semi-homemade' elements to balanced, overall healthy meals! Having that flexibility is so much more sustainable and realistic. I love making stuff from scratch, but getting into the mindset of having to make everything at home, just because I'm technically capable (and its fractionally cheaper or healthier) is overwhelming and paralyzing. Thank you for this video. I hope the waning days of winter are gentle ones for you. Signs of spring are nigh!
I just love your videos so much! I have them on repeat constantly, so rewatchable and comforting. Currently struggling with alcoholism so I am also trying to optimize my diet to be healthier to hopefully help counteract the negative affects of that, appreciate the content!
Thank you for watching! Hopefully this video helps anyone who's also just trying to keep some semblance of a balanced diet during this last stretch of wintertime. Adding an upvote for glass. The black plastic I wash in the dishwasher gets white spots. I think my dishwasher powder isn't washing off. Unclear. You can't wash off the white.
I think vegan is the answer. I'm desperate to be healthy. Both of my parents had dementia, so I left work and had to defecate and urinate for a long time on my own. Last year, they both passed away after 3 months. It was stressful. After my parents passed away, all I had was physical and heartache. I got a brain aneurysm and two brain aneurysms on my head. I even had hypothyroidism and suddenly I gained 15kg. Anxiety disorder Panic disorder I'm still experiencing insomnia. It's been a year since my parents died and I'm still in treatment, but I've only started again. I've had the courage to share and communicate, so I started TH-cam, took a walk, and traveled. Now I want to be healthy. I want everyone watching this video to be healthy. When you lose your health, you lose everything.
Random but Sarah, you have outstanding knife handling skills and I love it. I get stressed/anxious when I watch people with poor knife handling Lol. Your videos are relaxing for me to watch because I can tell you know how to work with sharp knives lol.
Been a while since I've watched a video of yours, things are looking great for you! I have been getting back into taking better care of myself too, even getting myself my own little fridge. That last one looks soooo good, I may have to copy that recipe for my dinners this week!
If you buy containers for meal prep, I would recommend getting some with two chambers. That way, you can keep your rice or noodles separate from the rest incase you make something with a sauce like an indian curry for example (which is by the way a great dish for vegan high protein meal prep!)
I always boil my tempeh in plenty of water, I feel like the more water I use the more it 'washes away' the bitterness Btw this video was literally at the top of my subscription box when I opened the TH-cam app to look for some vegan meal prep vids. How perfect!
I've been looking for an honest review on a tofu press. So many opinions online, but I trust yours as I've watched you for years and we have similar cooking preferences (except I'm as crazy for onions as you are garlic lol). I really like your use of Impossible sausage and the fajita meal prep. I always want savory and spicy, so I'll have to give these a try for my take to work meals. Thanks for the video!
I'm a long time viewer. Not vegan but mostly wfpb. I love these recipes and will def use them and adapt 'em when desired. Thanks for a great, straightforward, no-nonsense meal prep!
You just being you and talking through your thought process on things, like why you might just use salt and pepper on the fajita veggies, is so therapeutic for some reason lol. Like a lot of it is relatable but also super eye opening for me and making me realize how I can simplify certain aspects of my life. I love your videos so much.
I love the simplicity of this meal prep. Just so you know, the link you added for us to click on to get the recipes was not hyperlinked or blue so we couldn’t click on it. Great video! Keep up the good work in the gym. And keep the simple meals coming. Thank you
Thanks so much for this! I've been vegetarian for 20+ years and for some reason never thought of cooking tempeh and tofu together. These prep meals are a good idea for me as my job keeps me on the road and it's so hard to eat healthy AND vegetarian eating out.
I follow this Channel, but came to this video after seeing the short. ( Would love to see written down recipes or a plan) I love meal prepping. I need the inspiration, for simple, healthy, easy but tastefull meals like these. Thank you!
One of the things that's really helped me with that mental 'oh my god I don't want to cook for myself' kind of vibe is having pre-cut frozen veggies. I recently found a bag of mixed plain bell peppers, a bag of diced butternut squash (no peeling required!) a bag of mirepoix - things I hadn't really noticed since they weren't broccoli or cauliflower. You can oven roast things straight from frozen, too. I've also found those little cubed hash browns convection baked in several tablespoons of oil crisp up better than regular fries if you're craving crunchy without as much guilt. You could add those to breakfast burritos, too. This video made a few meal prepping ideas seem more approachable. Really eyeing that fajita style bowl! Now to just get myself to stay in the kitchen...
Good tips, thank you! Speaking of hash browns, I'm obsessed with Strong Roots Cauliflower Hash Browns which you buy Frozen, I bake mine in a 400 oven for 25 min and they are delish with maldon salt and Sriracha.
I friend at my gym told me about you so I came here to check out your content. I am new to the plant based way of eating and so far I am really enjoying it and feeling good. I am 46, a former competitve bodybuilder who regularly consumed pounds and pounds of red meat, whole eggs and well, lot's of saturated fat Looking forward to getting my blood work and health markers checked Thank you for all the great meal prep ideas Keep em coming! New subsciber here for sure
This is perfect timing bc I’ve struggling to make high protein meals lately! I started powerlifting training and guzzling protein shakes gets so old so fast
hey melissa its your bro adam i would like to make peace with you. i love you, please understand it was an accident you texted me while i was in the middle of playing with myself and i shouldn't have picked up my phone to reply it was really dangerous, im so sorry. im traumatized by it aswell, never wanted to hurt someone i care about dearly, you're still family to me. please respond just once. discord is also in my username.
I like the simplicity and ideas, and the fact things don't have to be perfect. I way over think things I am still learning to be plant based with whole foods, needing to learn how to balance meals and understand what I need daily in each meal to be a healthy vegan can you explain this to me please, thank you.
Not that it really matters if you're eating a ton of veggies anyway, since the difference in nutrition between white and brown rice isn't huge.....BUT, I have found that soaking brown rice ahead of time and then cooking it exactly like it's white rice results in a texture that's almost indistinguishable. If that extra gram or two of fiber is desirable to you, but you dislike brown rice, give it a try! I also recommend venturing out with grains or mock grains or pseudo grains. Try farro, buckwheat, barley, millet, amaranth, sorghum, quinoa, wild rice or steel cut oats anywhere you'd use rice. I usually have a few portions of most, if not all, of those in my freezer. You might end up liking one even more than rice. My personal favorite is farro. I love inviting people over and then giving them a choice of what to put their entree on top of. People usually choose something they've never tried before and that's fun.
Soaking rice is a game changer, I've started doing it after watching a lot of great Korean cooking vlogs and it really works wonderfully, the rice is so fluffy and delicate.
saved it to make these during the week! i'm starting classes again tomorrow and i'm trying to not get too sidetracked with my health this year, thanks Sarah!
This was so Helpful I just became vegan A few months back This is so Helpful for me Thanks Sarah. ( by the way my friend showed me this channel he said it would give me tip's on Vegans foods and how to Cook them.
Sometimes ramen chips and soda are self care! glad you're back on track with your eats and gym! Do you have a link to the little mat you have your dish soap on- ohhh and your tapestry ? please and thank you
Great vid! The beginning was cute! It can be hard to feel inspired during the gray months of winter. We feel your pain here in NY. Thanks for the inspo! 💚💚🥒🥒
1 question I have for a vegan what do you have for a Sunday dinner/roast. I'm non vegan and don't eat fruit or salad so my dinner is as follows. Lamb, roasters, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing few peas and a few carrots.
Love your meal preps but most of the 1st 2 are ingredients if here in Jamaica will be very expensive The 3rd & last i will give this one a try definitely. 😊❤🇯🇲
I love your Meal Prep videos. I'm saving them in a folder for the day I finally get around to meal prepping. (Which I swear is always 'next week' 😁) Thanks!
Wow!!! Where have you been hiding??? FANTASTIC meal prep, thank you. I struggle sooo much with what to eat and so I eat frozen pizza, a ton of coke and other milk sugary drinks instead of eating. I've just subscribed, I'm here for this content! I'm trying to lose weight. My BMI is 36 😢 hopefully I can learn nutrition from you!
Love your channel and how simple you can make what can otherwise be a daunting way of eating. Do you happen to have the Mexican Red Rice on your site or did you just wing that? I am always looking for ways to improve otherwise boring sides.
Thanks for your videos. Unfortunately for me I need vegan, gluten free, and soy free options but yet still get decent protein. A lot of times I go without protein due to my limited choices and budget. White rice isn't good for me either so I usually go with mostly quinoa and sometimes brown rice. My lunch typically ends up being a green shake and a protein bar. I would like something simple that doesn't take a lot of prep and is budget friendly.
Omg 10 seconds into the video and you described my whole meal "plan"... eurgh! You mean ramen and protein shakes aren't good enough?! Ill probably be shamed into doing better now. Vegan for life 😂💖
im not actually vegan i just really hate having to handle raw meat and cook it so i guess i tend to eat vegetarian when i cook. i still live at home and dont get to choose what i eat majority of the time so itll be a bit before i get to do this. im doing research before i start tho lol

yes and such a good way to save money.
This is such a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
How long do the nutrients last anyway?
I guess the cooles food looses its nutrients pretty fast

I have been using 90 second rices to help with making easy meals. Toss a little froze. Veggies and a little protien and it's ready.

do a mix of white & brown rice. I usually soak my brown rice before cooking it in a rice cooker, but I like the nuttiness of the brown rice .
Great meal ideas, thanks! Way more greens in the end product as far as I'm concerned. Agreement on the glass containers versus single-use plastics.

I love your videos Sarah 💕. Thank you, they are very helpful.
You should freeze your tofu before pressing/cooking. So good. That's how my Grandma taught me.

Brown rice has less arsneic because its less processed/cleaned, so it's actually better for you to eat white rice if you're eating rice regularly!

I’ve loved getting ideas for plant based cooking! Try Aldi’s Simply Nature Quick Cook brown rice. It tastes just like white rice, and it’s non-gmo.

I have a love/hate relationship with tempeh. They eat a lot of it in Bali.
I also used to prefer white rice until I discovered that hack, only reason I felt compelled to share:)
Rice cookers are one of the few kitchen appliances that have stood the test of time
