Shad, I'm sorry but I disagree: multiverse nonsense is ALWAYS terrible. The instant the mechanic is introduced into a story, all stakes are over. If there is an infinite multiverse then there are infinite versions of a character, which means if the character we are focusing on fails or dies or whatever, there is another version of the character that did not fail or die or whatever. That means that for some reason we are focusing on a sucky version of this character and we have been wasting our time, because this version sucks and there is a better version of the character out there that succeeded or didn't die or whatever that we could be watching. In the context of a multiverse story with infinite multiverse variants of a character, you cannot make an argument for the characters we are watching as mattering, as there are literally infinite versions that are better than this one. If we're talking different dimensions like how CS Lewis portrays different worlds like in The Magician's Nephew, that is a different thing entirely as there are still just singular versions of each character, not infinite versions.
The spiderverse movies have navigated this well so far. Miles Morales, Gwen, Miguel, Peter B, are all shown as one of a kind characters even within the multiverse and their losses would be felt.
@@littymarquis764 They wouldn't be though. If they died, there would just be another version of that character from another multiverse branch that didn't die. In a multiverse of infinite possible versions, there are infinite versions that succeed and live. Why do I care that this one failed and died? There's literally infinite versions that didn't die. For some reason these stories are focusing on this failed version and acting like the viewers should care. Why should I care about this particular version when there's infinite other versions? Both the spiderverse and the mcu multiverse have this problem. They pretend like there AREN'T infinite possible universes unless they want to pull from the multiverse when it's narratively convenient. It's cheap and it's boring and it's lazy. The idea that we're watching this specific version of this character across all the multiverse possibilities makes the whole thing pointless. No stakes with multiverses.
@@PickleLipsMiguel while this may be possible in theory, that’s now how it’s written. The writers of spiderverse clearly emphasize each Spider-Man as their own unique character. There may be a billion spidermen but there’s only one Peter B, only one Noir Spider-Man, only one Spider Gwen, etc. they’re only theoretically versions of the same characters, in practice, they are all different characters/people fulfilling a universal archetype. The MCU doesn’t have this going I’d say.
@@littymarquis764 The idea that there is precisely one Peter B, Spider Gwen, etc makes no sense in the context of an infinite multiverse. It's infinite. Literally everything and anything can, will, and has happened in a multiverse setting. That the writers ARE saying that there are precisely 1 of each of these characters is exactly the lazy and nonsensical writing I already mentioned. The writers are essentially saying, "There is an infinite multiverse were all possible outcomes are real! Also, here are some singular, specific, one-of-a-kind characters that should not exist according to the infinite nature of infinity." There's not even a 1 in a trillion chance of this happening. It's a 1 in infinity chance of this happening. They make a rule for their narrative world and then immediately break it. It's pointless.
@@PickleLipsMiguel do the writers for spiderverse ever actually say the number of universes in the multiverse? Why assume it’s infinite? Even many leading contemporary physical multiverse models don’t say it’s infinite. Even if it were infinite, its infinitude is not the point of the story, the point of the story is what it means to be Spider-Man. Treating it as, for all practical purposes, finite, better achieves that end. And even if theoretically on their model it was possible to find someone else who was like Spider Gwen in every way except a few strands of hair, who says they’d ever find her?
it's not really related to this context or marvel overall and it's pretty much beyond their writers anyway but i can't say i'm completely against the *idea* of an "anchor being". However, i guess the idea i like isn't some grand thing where the universe or whatever ends but a personal one where you just want to save that one person.

I have definitely enjoyed a few of Hitops videos in the past but yea at a certain point you start to notice his “style” and it just goes downhill from there. The simplest way I can describe it is just pretentious as fuck.
1:21:39 there’s a simple solution to the problem of Anchor beings (aside from removing the concept entirely). Just make it that a universe has multiple anchor beings, and that the Fox universe just lost all but Logan by the time the movie takes place.
Its kind of ironic how much we enjoyed the film despite the serious writing problem's. But i guess its what happens when you're starved for content for so long
It is honestly unbearable to listen to people that always want to blame money to justify creators fuck ups. When they produce something good, they are geniuses. When they do something wrong "oh! Corporations bad! Money root of evil! Management interference! People Don't understand! Who's gonna think of the children!". Stop it. If you cash the check and your name is on the finished product, you take the blame. When movies are good no one is screaming "Thank god for the producers and the finance guy!"
18:58 fringy is good sometimes but yeah X men are a huge part of why they acquired Fox. Idk why he acts like its two characters or they aren't popular, highest selling comic of all time and when done right the X Men are better than avengers and definitely have better villains.
I thoroughly enjoyed DP&W, but it is deeply flawed, and it's noticeable from the opening credits not being jokes... Cable and Domino missing is a flaw, and it could have been mitigated with a bit of dialog and story: After DP comes back from his MCU rejection (because obviously Happy doesnt know what mutants are, who the X-men are, or anything from the Fox universe so he just assumes this deformed person is deranged as well...) he is dejected and depressed. Cable, Domino, and X-Force are tired of him dragging his feat, same with Vanessa, and finally leave him to wallow. At the party, Shatterstar is there just to be a dick ("I'm you, but better") while Cable and X-Force are doing hero shit. They could have had that deeply sad, suicidal DP from the beginning of DP2, feeling like whatever he does he gets nowhere, gains nothing, he cant keep Vanessa happy doing Merc work (she disagrees) and he just cant fit in with a team. Even going back in time and fixing everything, he ends up in the same place... real Wade Willson shit. That's the opening. Now, that doesn't fux everything, but that's a start and explains why X-Force is absent.

If Deadpool is anything like the cells from Henrietta Lacks, he'll live forever.
three hours is a highlight lol
its funny about the ad, everyones ssn basically got taken... not just those from AT&T... if you have an ssn, its been "leaked"... just need to keep eyes on your credit and shiz.
Who else but HiTop could have the correct opinion for all of the wrong reasons? It's like he was tasked with solving a complex math equation, and he decided to smear his shit on the wall. Through the small chunks of corn, hair, and blood, he discovered the correct answer.
It reminds of people who disagree with the Ukraine war, not because it’s a proxy war money laundering for the US and human sacrifice, but because they just like Russian because aesthetics consumer communism. Not because war bad, but because Russia cool. It’s not that the movie is bad, it’s just that it’s too safe.
HiTop would find the solution to the heat death of the universe a day before it would happen, he’s that’s dedicated to not getting to the point.
@@nhagan001 it'd take him atleast two more days

I have definitely enjoyed a few of Hitops videos in the past but yea at a certain point you start to notice his “style” and it just goes downhill from there. The simplest way I can describe it is just pretentious as fuck.

The multiverse twitted wolverine's tipples!

1:21:39 there’s a simple solution to the problem of Anchor beings (aside from removing the concept entirely). Just make it that a universe has multiple anchor beings, and that the Fox universe just lost all but Logan by the time the movie takes place.
This is the only highlight channel out there that releases 3 hour long videos lol
Its kind of ironic how much we enjoyed the film despite the serious writing problem's. But i guess its what happens when you're starved for content for so long
You can have a good movie that isn't written well.
@@ZeSgtSchultz Well, at least an enjoyable one.
@@verified_JC_Dentonnope mauler makes me cringe how much value he puts in writing when some good movies are carried by acting and direction
Starved for content? Broaden your horizons beyond Marvel and Star Wars and you’ll find some things you like, I promise.
So your standards have lowered. That’s honestly your fault for watching so much shit.
1:03:52 Incredibly pretentious!
...That Spiderman thing at the end was a masterclass in what NOT to do.
Even the "podcast clips" of efap are 3 hours long incredible
Wolf, can we get that reaction to the HiTop parody in it's won video?
It is honestly unbearable to listen to people that always want to blame money to justify creators fuck ups. When they produce something good, they are geniuses. When they do something wrong "oh! Corporations bad! Money root of evil! Management interference! People Don't understand! Who's gonna think of the children!".
Stop it. If you cash the check and your name is on the finished product, you take the blame. When movies are good no one is screaming "Thank god for the producers and the finance guy!"

Best part of this highlight imo.
How did no one catch Fringy lying about Hitop’s opinion of No Way Home?
I fell asleep after an hour. Did Hi-Top ever got to the point?
You managed to get to a hour !
I passed dout after 30 minutes
this is lil bit too much of circlejerking for the sake of circlejerking.
I hate the wounded animal voice/ 1 hp voice.
Edit: I keep seeing this video pop back up in my feed and I for the life of me cannot get through it because of the voice always on the verge of tears...
despite how great Night at the Museum 1 is, the sequel is dramatically better.
why is Anna always so sleep during these?
Hitop is the only thing that brings me joy
58:08 That's exactly what came to my mind.
I guess, I reckon, I wager, that when all, is said and done, when all is fulfilled, when all is truly over, we will never return to form, to normality, to sanity.
Love ya tho.
Mauler have you watched Matchstick Men yet? I promise you it's a great film.
But I will admit it would have been better if they actually used what they set up in the first two movies
Oh. I thought it was a new Rag'''s'/Dogbytes video, going by the thumbnail.
As soon as I saw Deadpool using Logan’s bones to kill people, I knew that certain people on the internet were gonna cry about this “disrespecting” the movie Logan somehow. It’s such a childish mindset, I swear to god. The movie is a fucking comedy, and the character of Deadpool has been used to mock more serious comic characters all. The. Time.
Christ, Bethesda games are so fucking broken! I completely forgot how to get rid of the item, so found this video to get a reminder... and now I can't get rid of the quest. It's stuck in my miscellaneous quest list. Because of course it is.
Anyway, thanks for the help, bro. 🙏
Deadpool and wolverine is just a better version of Rick and Morty two of the writers of Rick and Morty even worked on it
Hey Wolf, I know this is unrelated (Even though it technically involves characters from different universes...) but could you answer a question? In episode 286 of EFAP Mauler mentioned that there was a website that held a poll similar to the subject matter of the video, that apparently Ezio from Assassin's Creed won. Do you by any chance know what website he was referring to?
