By request, this is my how to blow a Mondo duck call. The best way to learn how to blow a duck call is to work one on one with a person that calls well. Find someone that calls the way you like, then learn from them. I've spent some time during lunch one day to teach a co-woker some basics on the Mondo call. Thanks to Dennis for being a part of this video and learning on camera. Thats no fun. As you try these techniques, record yourself and listen to yourself and try to make the tones you like. Which Mondo would you recommend as a transition call to somebody who blows J frames?

In my opinion, the bigger the bore, the tighter you have to constrict your mouth cavity. Like a water hose, pinching the nozzle tip generates greater velocity. You need that extra air speed to move those thick cutdown reeds through that big bore. So more velocity rather than more volume. If you blow more volume, with a wider throat, you can't keep up for long and you'll pass out. Tighten up your throat, like you ate some sour candy, and blow it tight. You'll be able to rattle those trees for hours.
