LYRICS:
I've got no place
Buildin' you a rocket up to outer space
I watch you fade
Keepin' the lights on in this forsaken place
Little star
Feels like you fell right on my head
Gave you away to the wind
I hope it was worth it in the end
You and my guitar
I think you may be my only friend
I gave it all to see you shine again
I hope it was worth it in the end
Us against the world
Just a couple sinners makin' fun of hell
If I keep you here
I'll only be doing it for myself
Little star
Feels like you fell right on my head
Gave you away to the wind
I hope it was worth it in the end
Yeah, I hope so
Think you may be my only friend
I gave it all to see you shine again
I hope it was worth it in the end
I know this thing is broken
So I leave my door wide open
Been some time since we've spoken
One day we'll meet again
Some distance when you're older
You'll come laying on my shoulder
Tell me that storm is over
That day we meet again
Feels like you fell right on my head
Gave you away to the wind
I hope it was worth it in the end
You and my guitar
I think you may be my only friend
I gave you away, mm-mm-mm
I hope it was worth it in the end
I was a heroin and fentanyl addict my entire 20s. I'm 31 and I'm almost 2 years sober. This song brings tears to my eyes EVERY time. Please remember there's someone that loves you, everyone.
Congrats on your sobriety, this shit isn't easy. Keep fighting the good fight ❤
We all love you. Congrats
We love you too and are proud of you❤️ Keep going❤️
Same.
Congrats on being sober! Keep it up
This version is 10 times better than the official song released. One of my favorite moments of the show.
Hasn’t even released yet bruh
@@heyyou9692 it has on Tidal, Apple Music, and pretty much everywhere else. wired, Rolling Stones, and a slew of other outlets have reported on it. Dominic has even commented on it…broski
100%

It made me upset that so many people hated this scene, I absolutely love it
I don't know how you can hate this scene....this was so emotional and beautiful
Why did they hate this?
TRUE omg I completely melted watching Elliot sing this. The melody and lyrics got me crying
But suddenly I see everyone saying they hated this scene, like WTF did they even pay attention to how beautiful it is?
@@Arianabrownfield are peoples attention spans really that short?
This is so meaningful, i even repeat this scene to pay more attention for the lyric. I cried a lot
I was all for this scene. I was actually surprised by the negative reaction. It really was a beautiful moment.
Those are the people that do not appreciate music and the raw emotions it creates.
Realised half way through it was a goodbye song to Rue and that shit took me out. So, so beautiful. The song said it all.
Right like shittttt full blow tears 😭 so good!
I think they'll meet again :)
Can you refresh my memory, how did they end up?
Can you refresh my memory, how did they end up?
@@Emily-yz1uu Well, after he ratted Rue out to her mom about using drugs she stopped talking to him and Jules. But then, after she got clean, she eventually came around to tell him she forgives him-in this scene- and he sings her this goodbye song.
This was one of my favorite moments of the finale. I can't believe people are hating on this. What a scene.
Yeah, for sure. It's a great scene. The lyrics are what's important. Reading through Sam Levinson's scripts, he often makes notes for the actors to *listen* to the music closely because it gives insight to the scene.
Why would they hate this? It’s beautiful
Who is hating on this??? This is literally the best scene...my lifeeeee
Cried my fucking eyes out during this scene. It was perfect.
Bruh this scene is so cringe (respectfully)
This scene had me in tears, Eliot knows he is flawed, and I know ppl are upset abt he and Jules but in reality his connection to Ru is so much deeper than Jules and her placement- they have a bond based in drug use and secrecy. IMO they were closer- he knew Ru at her rock bottom and how she really felt abt Jules- this song was heartbreaking- I think it captures what he knew he was risking and for the payout that he could save her- although he won’t stop using himself- it says a lot abt what she means to him - although it was romantic I also think Euphoria likes to push the bounds of relationship dynamics, the power of platonic relationships and how they bleed past what mainstream represents, there’s definitely love here btwn them.
When she asked if he was still using it broke my heart bc I already knew his answer & she did too
He knew the side of rue that was hidden to the world. He passed zero judgement to the part of her she hated to love. To her, it was the only person she could be her most “true” self around. That shits deep in a different way.

shit made me cry bro. He was glowing differently in this episode...maybe it was just rue visiting. I think he loves her.
i hope that’s true, even though jules cheated with him
@@acaciak4261 I honestly think he told her about it. She definitely stayed longer than what was shown & he definitely cleared things up. It would explain why rue didnt say shit to Jules and just kissed her head and walked off, right??
@@dragon55855 I doubt he would of told her with it not filmed. Also, he would know that telling her could be the catalyst to send her down the drug path again. He just appears happy that she's clean and free and I think the song acts as the farewell, the lasting memory (or that we know of right now).
@@zootxgames it not being filmed has zero to do with it happening or not. At least not the way I see it, and the song didnt seem like a farewell, lol. He asked if they could still be friends after. Doesn't really make sense 😭
@@dragon55855 Well it does because that has something to do with the plot lol. That's like saying Laurie kidnapping Rue to get her money back happened but it wasn't filmed... That's a hole in the narrative. There’s literally no proof to saying they cleared things up so your point remains redundant. It's a ‘could have’ with no viability. The song clearly acts as an apology to Rue and in regards to the friendship, if you listen and decode the lyrics (or watch the after show) it's obvious that he's referencing a future friendship not the present now. Sam even said it's awareness of them going in two different directions.
This part made me cry so much. I love Elliot so much. Them letting each other go is so heartbreaking but necessary 😭 Like you love it because you know they need to go their own paths, but you hate it because they are such beautiful and true friends.
Same.
I feel like this song is so powerful not because it shows the relationship between rue and eliot but because it shows how hard it could be to watch someone you love so much hurt themselves and all you want to do is help them but you can't help someone who doesn't want to help themselves so all you can do is watch them slowly fade away and hope that someday theyll come back better and you can get the person you knows they can be back
i’m one of the few ppl who loved how long this scene was i felt rues emotions fully. i really hope they don’t let each other go. they can still be friends and not so drugs like jules and elliot bro
“Im still working on it” is such a powerful line
the original room recording puts the digital master to SHAME
They, For Sure, Need to release THIS version!!!! I’ve come back to This Too many times ♥️
This was a really good scene, it was a beautiful display of love. Love without conditions. Everyone in the show wanted transactional love (not including fez/lexi) but Elliot truly loved Rue, so much that he wanted nothing from her but to see her live
I knew while watching this that I felt something different. Hearing it a 2nd time made me realize that I love this song so so much. It’s beautiful to see Rue’s character feel true love and care. She always got it from her fam but this was the moment she actually felt it.
I just remember thinking wow this actors actually got a really good voice and its a great song! Writing a song for someone is a great way to let them know everything they need to
Anyone who disliked this scene/song doesn't know how hard it is to lose someone to addiction or just felt the pain of letting someone you love go. This shit choked me the fuck up. Stay safe GAIA bless..
This is a beautifully written reflection of loving someone struggling with addictiction. I don't understand why others disliked this scene so much. The lyrics represent Elliot and Rue's relationship, what he did and why he did it, and an overall good conclusion to where they are now. Elliot was new, Rue was his first real friend, they did drugs together, Elliot might feel guilty, he saw her starting to slip away, he did what he thought was best to help her in the long run, he knows she might not be in the headspace to forgive him now but he hopes "it was worth it in the end" ❤ I loved it
And Zendaya and Labrinth both made the song like omg? They really did capture the moment like how they wanted to
People who were hating on this have zero sense of art. It was so good. Lyrically it was a really sweet and sad song. I absolutely loved it.
Besides the death of Ash with dude banging on the door screaming for him to not to do this. This part was one of best parts of the show. I loved the play too. The photograph shot was the best.
Dominic Fike fans and newly “Elliot” fans will appreciate this scene
this scene was so much deeper that most people realize. 💯
idk why people think this is cringe, its one of my favorite euphoria scenes lmao
Easily one of the best scenes
Because it’s 2 minutes too long
I gave Euphoria a chance when at first I thought it would just be some kid drama but damn it was so surprising how many amazing moments came out of it like this. I cried quite a few times watching this show. Hope Elliot comes back too. He was a good addition to season 2.
thank you, i wanted this on youtube as soon as i heard it
It's too beautiful NOT to post.
I love this...Zendaya did an excellent job playing rue....she should get all the praise, recognition, and awards for playing this character 😊❤
I didn't realize but I can see their future is tied together.
THIS. This scene made the entire show worth watching for me.
YOU GUYSSSS !!! the way I have been replaying this TH-cam clip over and over in my AirPods all day. im obsessed. I really hope they release it on Spotify to apple music 😩😩😩😩🥲
SAME. Stuck on replay. What a voice. Just what he does with the word guitar alone!!
i dare say they will, labrinth released “im tired” that week that episode came out
@@callumbull4433 how long do you think he’ll wait to release this ?
@@bezaddagne12 labrinth and zendaya wrote the song but it’s meant to be published to spotify ect. on friday 4th march - i believe zendaya said so on her insta but i could be wrong on where i sourced that information from :)
@@leila.d.2257 omggggg yess I just saw the posts about the release 😆😆😆 so excited !!!
Can’t stop crying over this scene. Such a beautiful moment. Wonder how Zendaya was able to keep it together
how could you hate on this scene, pure emotion/art.
THE WAY RUE JUST STOOD THERE WATCHING ELLIOT SING AFTER HE WRECKED HER RELATIONSHIP HELPEHEUHAE
I love this song so much. His voice makes the song sound amazing 🥰 definitely one of my favorite scenes
well yes scene is long but the song is nice and its new .. pulls you into the emotion at that moment, so its justified
Everytime I watch this I cry like a baby
I loved this scene he has a amazing voice.
Its tretty strong and meaningful scene. This show has its moments, full of sadness and beauty.
This scene... was so what this episode needed. Wow. The lyrics are powerful 🖤
This scene broke me... As a former addict we lose ppl so much and not many of them understand what we go tru. This was so beautifull, trully a masterpiece💞
This is the purest thing i’ve ever seen 🤍
Just lost a friend to substances way too young. This song is giving me solace, it really captures the feeling of being close to someone who is so troubled. Thank you for creating it.
I absolutely loved this song I hate how ppl didn't like it because it was sooooo damn good
it"s my favourite song from the season 2 ! it is so moving and beautiful and it even made me cry
This song touches me in my soul... I've been there .... 7yrrs clean... but appreciate this it takes me to a place where I feel free and happy
i love this version so much more then the one they released 😩
I burst into tears listening to this
One of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard 😍
He might’ve accidentally saved my life too 😔💙
🥺♥️ this made me cry
Beautiful song and the words are extremely pertinent to the scene. All the people who hate, don’t understand self sacrifice to help another even at the expense of that friendship. They may do, one day.
I loved this. I think it shows the Elliot rlly didn't mean to cause so many problems. I think he had good intentions he just made stupid choices.
This was so beautiful I can’t believe ppl thought this was cringy….such a desensitized generation….what a future
I get people don't like the scene and I hope they don't ever have to understand why it's such a great scene and song. As someone who has lost friends to drugs, prison and overdoses this song is perfect. Some of you obviously have never begged them to stop or go to rehab while they refuse time and time again. Some of them I will never see again and some I pray I will in the future. It's beautiful!!
first time watching the show on the last episode 😭 but this scene was fyee frr . bro sounds really good and has multiple talents he can take further with the show . appreciate ya dom 🖤💯
I will never understand why people hated on this scene so much I think it was beautiful
Bethany you have been worth every moment, every smile, every tear. I am right here.
One of my favourite scenes from Euphoria!😭 I literally cried so muchhhh ahhh 😭😭
I feel so bad for ppl who dont understand the epic communication in this scene. So much emotional impact, real, raw, perfect
This song was crazy bruh dude need to record that that’s the deepest song like kinda had me feeling emotional. Dude a genius!!!

Its one of the best scene in Euphoria and the best song in Euphoria :')
One of the best scenes. In the series
These lyrics were so fitting. Beautifully done!🖤
This song makes me SOB. Hardest I cried during the whole show. 💔💔😭
IDC IDC I WANT RUE AND ELLIOT TO END UP TOGETHER SOBER 😭😭🤚
The beautiful reality and purity of this song
them forcing the viewer to focus on elliot's lyrics and why rue is crying makes the viewer remember the memories of elliot's and rue's relationship. the fact alone that elliot made this song for rue shows how much he really cares about her even if they don't really show it. the length of the scene gives the viewer more time to think and while you really listen to elliot's lyrics, it invokes its intended reaction/emotion. this scene perfectly conveys its purpose
Crazy to me everytime I hear one of his songs live it’s better than the recorded version
Fact.
Such a beautiful song. Absolutely love Elliot and this scene 😍 ❤️
i haven't felt a song hit this hard in a long time.
This song is SO beautiful 🤩
Honestly i think people disliked elliot's character way too much just bec he entered rue & jules' relationship. The resentment towards this beautiful character made them hate on this masterpiece of a song and scene!!! Agree or disagree, Elliot played a big role in creating an arc for Rue and Jules' characters.
Dominic fike, the hate meant you did good. We were supposed to be confused and indecisive in loving or hating your character. 💚
this heals sm
Its called "Elliots Song" by Zendaya and Labrinth - They talk about it in the aftershow
Excellent research. Thank you!
i love this scene so much
This is so touching.. Especially If you know how much you need this kind of words when you suffer from mental illness... 😭😭😭😭
everyone: talking about how they’re confused how others don’t like this scene or the song & think it’s cringe
me: * doesn’t actually find anyone who hates it or thinks it cringe *
Love this part of the finale searched up “rues song” just to find this.
Funny you say that, it's the exact phrase that's in the top 5 searches for our website!
Beautiful scene Great film! My favorite part of the show I can listen and listen The emotion feels extremely raw
Love this song
I relate => leaving an ex I thought I'd marry because it was so toxic.
Hardest thing I've ever done.
I cried so much! I just watched this episode! ❤ I know I'm late, it's beautiful!
People hated this scene and I thought it was beautiful. This show is so intense. This felt like a deep breath.
This episode came in waaaay too late we already know Eliot can sing at this point and its 2 episodes to the finale and we still have a whole fckn play to get through!!! Like shit really beautiful message but aint shit happened before this point we needed the action!😭❤
This scene was so beautiful the song is beautiful he is beautiful she is beautiful ❤❤❤❤😊
love this scene, this song and this show ❤️

Still not over this 🥺🫶🏾
