The Telus Cold Open was a thing of beauty, bu hearing the slight snort and chuckle off camera at G's "Neighbours with a U" joke made rocketed the whole episode to the top of my chart
For Virtual Boy to Pluto, I was thinking something like Video Game Consoles Saturn Saturn titles Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon Super S: Shin Shuyaku Sōdatsusen Sailor Pluto Pluto
The realization that I would not only watch a league of this but have the desire to compete in it makes me realize how the Microsoft Excel World Championships came to be.
I must have been watching way too much of “The Owl House” lately, because my mind went in a different direction when you mentioned Hootie. However, I agree that LRR-Hootie’s presence in the background really helped to sell the scene.
"Paul as Paul" reminded me of the opening of Borderlands 1, which introduces "Brick as Brick", but also, it perfectly summarises Paul. Paul, I appreciate everything you do. Thank you for being the heart of LRR for almost 20 years.
Surviving the COVID pandemic made the Toilet Paper Roll nerve-wrecking for me just because of the waste of toilet paper. I'm glad they only did it once.
Can we take a minute to appreciate that Graham's cards say The Great Indoor Games 2023 on the back? I don't remember seeing anything like that on LRL. I know it's a small, easy thing but it's so extra.
As someone who has never played League, and who hasn’t really kept up with mtg the last 20 years, watching the LOL draft was interesting because outside 5 planeswalker names I understood none of the words said. It was completely impenetrable
Always love Graham doing the cold open, and while i am not typically one to say such things, I would even go so far as to say his are my favorite (though it is rare for me to not greatly enjoy the cold opens) I also appreciate Paul's "Hello!" when introduced, always brings a chuckle when he does that
Great episode, I wish that would become a recurring thing :D BTW - For future Wikipedia competitive escapades - make sure to use private mode / clear cookies so the teams can't see which links were clicked already ;)
If you guys ever do the unknown draft again. A good prompt for character selection would be "If you're building a house, what job would you assign each of these characters and would the house still be standing at the end?"
Hot damn, I have never been so stressed as the wikipedia run. My sister thought i was dying from my gasps and screams. I definitely want to play this with others. Y'all have to try this one again. It was so intense. Sports could never.
I don't know how the system they were using only found a single link from Mt Rushmore to Victoria -- you can go Rushmore -> Presidents of US -> US -> North America -> Canada -> BC -> Victoria.
"Though I did spell neighbours with a "u"", despite Google's putting of a red squiggly, I for one feel that accommodations should involve meeting each other at minimum halfway. Thank you, neighbours.
I'll put Matt Wiggins in jungle since he's lost there anyways. Kathleen on sniper with Alex on bomb disposal is a power team right there. Cam for spy ofc. I like Cory as diplomat, Paul as point guard, and Heather as the hacker
I don't think it was mentioned in any updates, but I do remember James saying on his homestream that it is something that they want to do again, so maybe it will.
Got from Virtual Boy to DOG Pluto in 11, it could probably be done faster and better but Virtual Boy - Hasbro - Pawtucket, Rhode Island - Rhode Island - Family Guy - FOX - Disney - Mickey Mouse - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Pluto
Ok, hang on, engagement for the algorithm, so my 10 favorite letters aaaare... K, R, S, T, A, Q, Y, L, H, and yeah, sure, Z. Why? I dunno. Head empty, vibes only 😎
Paul's disembodied voice saying "hello" just warms my soul and brings a smile to my face every time I hear it :)
2nd best cold open G has even done, just after him telling us about his cancer. Man, that was a weird thing to type...
Twenty years of comedy and improv paying off with excellent delivery.
I think the Big Mid Quiz also had a pretty killer cold open
I dunno, the Big Mid Quiz intro was also amazing.
The Telus Cold Open was a thing of beauty, bu hearing the slight snort and chuckle off camera at G's "Neighbours with a U" joke made rocketed the whole episode to the top of my chart
39:52 seeing the Virtual Boy at the bottom of the screen there was KILLING ME!
I just paused and scrolled down to make this exact comment. I died.
The Wikipedia Relay was so much fun
For Virtual Boy to Pluto, I was thinking something like
Video Game Consoles
Saturn
Saturn titles
Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon Super S: Shin Shuyaku Sōdatsusen
Sailor Pluto
Pluto
@@LadyLunarSatine bro my first thought was Mario Galaxy lmao
The realization that I would not only watch a league of this but have the desire to compete in it makes me realize how the Microsoft Excel World Championships came to be.
Ben going to the Galaxy and then jumping over going to The Sun seemed like a missed opportunity to me
I think that Hootie's cohosting is what really brought this together. I mean, look at that range of emotions
I must have been watching way too much of “The Owl House” lately, because my mind went in a different direction when you mentioned Hootie.
However, I agree that LRR-Hootie’s presence in the background really helped to sell the scene.
1:06:35 Cam pivots reeeal hard from "Putting your fist where it's wet" to "Clean athlete, clean mind" huh? 😂
The Wikipedia relay was delightful and unexpectedly intense. Great hashtag content!
You definitely need to do that again.
I'm glad they only did it once.
the wikipedia relay was exilerating, would love to see it make a return
Graham: I did spell neighbors with a U.
Me (from the States): Graham, ye son of a bus!
Cameron very subtly doing his best not to corpse during the 'fist' portion of his & Serge's commercial break is delightful.
The Wikipedia relay was definitely the highlight
The LoL planeswalkers conversation was fantastic and perfectly within my particular brand of nerd. I could watch Ben play LoL all the time!
Graham, the "Great Outdoors" is using great as a superlative of 'large', not of 'good'.
Can we take a minute to appreciate that Graham's cards say The Great Indoor Games 2023 on the back? I don't remember seeing anything like that on LRL. I know it's a small, easy thing but it's so extra.
Ben clutching Pluto was amazing there!!!
As someone who has never played League, and who hasn’t really kept up with mtg the last 20 years, watching the LOL draft was interesting because outside 5 planeswalker names I understood none of the words said. It was completely impenetrable
Alex in a Live! You love to see it.
Cinnamon Roll Planeswalker LoL teams was an excellent segment and I'm the exact target audience for it. Kudos!
Always love Graham doing the cold open, and while i am not typically one to say such things, I would even go so far as to say his are my favorite (though it is rare for me to not greatly enjoy the cold opens)
I also appreciate Paul's "Hello!" when introduced, always brings a chuckle when he does that
Paul calling out "hello" never fails to bring a smile to my face.
also, Wikipedia relay was a absolute blast
Oh the Wikipedia Relay MUST return.
Aw yeah! Love these shenanigans.
It's amazing how much I've learned about dishwashers from this episode
Great episode, I wish that would become a recurring thing :D
BTW - For future Wikipedia competitive escapades - make sure to use private mode / clear cookies so the teams can't see which links were clicked already ;)
If Outdoors is so great, why is there no Outdoors 2?
That's called Second Life, I think.
I started cracking up during the cold open, can't wait to see how this goes XD
I'm 8 minutes in and this is the best segment ever done and I wish I caught this LIVE.
Thank you for the conversion for those of us south of the border, and Paul's "hello!" gets me every time.
Ayyyy I got a shoutout during Ben vs Serge :D Love you too guys!
Cameron saying “We would like to put our fist where it’s wet” and following up with “clean athlete.. clean.. mind.”
>And Paul will be Paul
"Hello!"
It's a simple bit, but by god do I love it every time! lol
I literally jump for joy when I see a new Live. Keep it up, LRR!!
If you guys ever do the unknown draft again. A good prompt for character selection would be "If you're building a house, what job would you assign each of these characters and would the house still be standing at the end?"
I once again have to figure out how to get my friends to play these games/segments 🤔
Good stuff!
You know what's weird? Graham mentions commercial brake before dishwasher game and YT showed me a dishwasher ad.
Just when I needed something to watch LRR to the rescue
Brilliant!!!
Hot damn, I have never been so stressed as the wikipedia run. My sister thought i was dying from my gasps and screams. I definitely want to play this with others.
Y'all have to try this one again. It was so intense. Sports could never.
Loved Ben vs. Serge in the alienation corner. I was just thinking how niche that topic was, and also that it was almost made for me!
Wet Fists is the name of Love Fists debut album. their title track "Love Fist Fury" rocketed up the charts and made them a household name
And all I could hear through Ben and Serge's draft was "Your Honor, League of Legends... DEATH."
It was great that you were there, Serge
I was expecting mastermind, grifter, hitter, hacker, and thief for the heist team. Leverage anyone?
Loved the wiki relay. That was intense.
Sunday funday, baby! Let's gooooo
Awesome!
1:25 For some sweet head-dancing
That was a lot of fun!
I don't know how the system they were using only found a single link from Mt Rushmore to Victoria -- you can go Rushmore -> Presidents of US -> US -> North America -> Canada -> BC -> Victoria.
Xenophilic, Quaint, super good Atmosphere
How did you do an ad read for feet without beej
Definitely think requiring no backs from checkpoint articles makes sense as a rule
"...and Paul will be Paul." Yes, but why is he Paul?
Ample supply?
Better question - How is Paul? No one ever asks how he is...
"Though I did spell neighbours with a "u"", despite Google's putting of a red squiggly, I for one feel that accommodations should involve meeting each other at minimum halfway. Thank you, neighbours.
God despite watching Neighbours in the 90s I was struggling to realise where the U was in it during the opening.
I'll put Matt Wiggins in jungle since he's lost there anyways. Kathleen on sniper with Alex on bomb disposal is a power team right there. Cam for spy ofc. I like Cory as diplomat, Paul as point guard, and Heather as the hacker
AMY WONG for BRAINS ?! :P
I want to see a Wikipedia Relay-type game where you have a group that can discuss.
*Flipping through a commander deck, crosses the card Damn*
Beej, 4:50- OH, DAMN!
How
he's a level five superjudge, duh
The return of the lrrlympics from that one Commodore Hustle
Wikipedia relay, AKA the topic flow of ADHD people having any conversation
Hoping someone makes a highlight reel super cut of Kathleen and co freaking out during the Wikipedia searches
Quick question, are new episodes of comadore hustle in talks? I binged all the episodes and wasn't sure if more were to come
I don't think it was mentioned in any updates, but I do remember James saying on his homestream that it is something that they want to do again, so maybe it will.
Temptation is such a good song, though, I guessed it as the one that they both picked
I want to see Kathleen do the WikiRelay again!
Got from Virtual Boy to DOG Pluto in 11, it could probably be done faster and better but
Virtual Boy - Hasbro - Pawtucket, Rhode Island - Rhode Island - Family Guy - FOX - Disney - Mickey Mouse - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - Pluto
it's like competitive 6 degrees of kevin bacon, i like it
Is it bad that when he said “Palmer” in the open, my first assumption was that he was talking about jackin it on your patio or something?
NUGS: apply directly to forehead.
Ok, hang on, engagement for the algorithm, so my 10 favorite letters aaaare...
K, R, S, T, A, Q, Y, L, H, and yeah, sure, Z.
Why? I dunno. Head empty, vibes only 😎
What about y'all?
Daretti number 1
the new moderner olympics
Wait, did they get rid of the bottom lane? Does no one care about the bottom lane? They said top, mid, jungle, adc, and support.
Engagement and interaction with creator to please the mathemagics that choses what gets seen or not.
Kathleen tho!!!
No one took One Week?! Shame.
