Or aged guitars. Yup, that makes sense and these should be whitebordered with the classic frame to match the look of Unlimited.and Revised. Make these cards that were really expensive and then saw a huge drop in price like Goyf.

Having just re-watched the Beejlander episodes, there was a Ben v Ben fight where Ben(U) suggested having a gravel playmat to really drive home the 'schoolyard magic' feel that they got because Beej was starting to calvinball with the rules a little. :p Also Nelson talking about scratch off cards reminds me of an ancient, long passed card game called Battle Cards made by Steve Jackson? The cards represented warriors, and you would take your opponent's card and scratch off a 'body part' circle, and sometime there were blood drops underneath, and if you defeated your opponents fighter, you kept the card, and it had a 'bounty' circle you scratched off for points... which you could then send back in to the company, to trade for other cards. This is now all in my local memory and I don't know when it's going to leave. Thanks, Nelson! '
Legacy Horizons. This set will be Legacy legal only (it's inexplicably not Vintage legal). It will feature a power crept version of every single card on the reserved list, since the only thing holding reserve list cards back from being reprinted is that WotC can't make any cards that are exactly the same functionally in-game. For example, untapped snow duals. Dark Lotus will add 4 mana. Time Run is just Time Walk at instant speed. Tabernacle Down the Street from Pendrell Vale also gives planeswalkers an upkeep cost.

I think Arena needs a feature that allows me to tilt out. Like, I don’t want to salty rope people, because that’s just rude. However, I want something that expresses my frustration more than just the “concede” button. So, how about a “tilt out” button. It’s exactly the same as conceding, except, rather than your avatar just blowing up, you get a video of the cards on the table flying everywhere and the background becomes skewed. The game also gives you a 10 minute timeout before you can start a new game, to give you time to calm down.
Bad idea - A set where Fateseal is a major mechanic and every game has half a dozen turns where at least one player is locked out from drawing anything useful

Terrible idea: Add the ability to cheat on arena. Have an option to palm an extra card during a card draw effect or manaweave at the beginning of the game. For each cheat option, there is a specific emote to call it out and get your opponent disqualified. Each emote costs $5.

I used to play at an "LGS" (and I use that term loosely) where you had to stand to play FNM or whatever. They had lots of tables, all covered in tons of back issues of comics. So they had built these plywood covers that would rest on top of the comics to provide a playing surface. It was awkwardly high, even while standing and you were sort of adjacent to the table and standing next to your opponent. Why I subjected myself to this more than once is beyond me.
My bad idea: New policy decision, every time the community complains about something, anything, just put a format staple on the reserve list. Oh, you don’t like our new secret lair, lightning bolt is reserved listed. Don’t like the new tournament structures? Good bye scalding tarn (and just scalding tarn) Etc.
I was thinking about this secret lair called "power nine". It is nine creatures with power nine but in the style of the Yargle Day secret lair. So every of the nine creatures features one of the power nine in the card. So for the Moxen and the Lotus, the creature poses with them, or is shaped like the specific mox and the other 3 are the creature posing like the people in the original art of Time Walk, Ancestral Recall and Time Twister. I guess 9 cards is a lot for a single secret lair but they could make it a super drop or something. Also players could use the cards as "totally official" proxys for the power nine.
Common drafting is not even a bad idea. My LGS has been holding free drafts with random common cards that are complete garbage, so that people can learn how to draft. Each pack had two cards of every colour, an artifact, a land, a multicolour card and sometimes a garbage rare. All the cards were bad, they were just taking up a lot of space. But we loved drafting them. there was a certain challenge to it. And also we could learn how to read signals, how to build a funtional deck out of whatever we managed to pick and most importantly: how to play our games with a limited mindset. Most of us learned how to properly draft through drafting repacked shitty common cards.

Bad Idea - In the same vein as the Fetchlands Secret Lair we do Secret Lair - Snow Duals. Snow versions of the OG Duals ONLY available at your local games store for just £10,000. Isn't that a lot of money for ten cards? Absolutely, which is why the box it comes in is 5ft x 5ft x 5ft so you know you're getting value.
batllecruiser set. no cmc is belo 5, every card does exactly nothing to get you closer to a win but is an insane value engine. i am talking like "whenever a land enters the battlefield create a splurge token, gain 3 life, draw a card" on a common. splurge token: sacrifice 3 tokens named "splurge" and return a card from your graveyard to the battlefield. all cards are basically multicolor but generic mana only and each and every card is aimed at prolonging the game. much like an archaeomancer+cyclonicrift stalemate in edh. you just draw more cards, shuffle your grave back constantly, revive stuff, gain life, get tokens (that cannot attack, like most creatures they'll have defender) and just no way to end a game. you know, just like battlecruiser decks.
So, all of your ideas focus on the cards and gameplay. But, as we all know, the story is also a big part of things, and we're really getting into it. Like, major characters are being killed or turned into Phyrexians. So, my bad idea is as follows: after March of the Machines, they're doing that sort of encore set, Aftermath. My story idea for that encore deals with Teferi. See, we currently don't know where, or when, he is. However, he is a time magic dude. So, first, you finally release the show. It's just a Bill and Ted rip-off, when he's trying to get back to the present, but keeps ending up in the wrong year, and hijinks ensue And, of course, it culminates in a big season finale that's also the story for MOM: Aftermath, where Teferi's time meddling just blinks the entire story back to War of the Spark.
I'm thinking there are some really neat opportunities to explore the potential story overlaps of Teferi's storyline with the plot of Kung Fury. Though now that I'm thinking of it, a secret lair of just Teferi reprints styled for different time travel stories/franchises might actually be pretty neat.
With MTG being about community and gathering, we should bring full text and audio chat to arena. The initial rollout may just be the players, with future iterations paired with a spectator mode, so your friends can chime in on the fun.
An infuriating idea for a decent amount of players: have an option in arena where your lands are above your permanents and it's set like that to default. So you don't realize it until your in a game and have to go through a menu outside of the current game to fix it

So my bad idea is a series of Secret Lairs, called "Are you sure this is a Magic card?" in which you find cross pollination of names of Magic cards from other TCGs, or similar effects, and print the Magic Card name, and rules text but as if it were from that card game. So like a Yu-Gi-Oh border and art for Yawgmoth, Thran Physician as Dark Magician, and four other either Iconic Yugioh cards, or just ones that happen to share a name (Like Metamorphisis I think is in both?) and then you do the same for the Pokemon TCG, Flesh and Blood, Digimon, Weiss Schwarz, and any other TCG willing to play ball. I don't really have specific cards in mind, but honestly, I'm kinda into it. I'm also not sure how many of the LRR chat is legitimately into feet, and how many of us do it just because it's a funny joke that has spiraled way out of control. Though, no one will actually admit if they're in the first category, because of how much the bulk of the internet basically bullies anyone that admits to liking feet. Regardless, I feel like if you really want to twist the knife, you make two versions, one of Female-presenting feet and Male-presenting feet that's all the same cards, but redraws the art to be whichever gender it is. Also, Rob Liefield Secret Lair could also just be a fun horrid idea as well, completely separate from that.
that episode was crap and i loved it. the concrete slab made me think at a gp they could pore curb height "side walks" with black top in between. you have to play on the concrete while shitting on the black top. think no more peesky folding tables and chairs.

I'd actually kinda dig an Ulgrotha do over. Good call Graham. It scratched my particular silly itch. I have a running gag, with myself and excel, with every new expansion I count how many non reprint Minotaurs got introduced to the game. Its the only true and objective rubric for determining a sets overall quality. Homelands had 5. Amonkhet, Theros Beyond Death, Theros, Hour of Devastation, and Born of the Gods have more. Therefore, all other expansions are deemed "Worse than Homelands". That does mean that Coldsnap is "better"(?) than every expansion set on Mirroden/New Phyrexia and Innistrad combined.
Bad idea: a draft in which the finals are played on the backs of those not in the finals, who are planking side by side to create as much playing space as possible.

I would have Arena replicate the obnoxious card flicking sound whenever you or your opponent reorders the cards in their hand and tie that to each volume slider so it is always at the highest setting.
Bad Idea - In the same vein as the Fetchlands Secret Lair we do Secret Lair - Snow Duals. Snow versions of the OG Duals ONLY available at your local games store for just £10,000. Isn't that a lot of money for ten cards? Absolutely, which is why the box it comes in is 5ft x 5ft x 5ft so you know you're getting value.
batllecruiser set. no cmc is belo 5, every card does exactly nothing to get you closer to a win but is an insane value engine. i am talking like "whenever a land enters the battlefield create a splurge token, gain 3 life, draw a card" on a common. splurge token: sacrifice 3 tokens named "splurge" and return a card from your graveyard to the battlefield.
all cards are basically multicolor but generic mana only and each and every card is aimed at prolonging the game. much like an archaeomancer+cyclonicrift stalemate in edh. you just draw more cards, shuffle your grave back constantly, revive stuff, gain life, get tokens (that cannot attack, like most creatures they'll have defender) and just no way to end a game. you know, just like battlecruiser decks.
So, all of your ideas focus on the cards and gameplay. But, as we all know, the story is also a big part of things, and we're really getting into it. Like, major characters are being killed or turned into Phyrexians. So, my bad idea is as follows: after March of the Machines, they're doing that sort of encore set, Aftermath. My story idea for that encore deals with Teferi. See, we currently don't know where, or when, he is. However, he is a time magic dude. So, first, you finally release the show. It's just a Bill and Ted rip-off, when he's trying to get back to the present, but keeps ending up in the wrong year, and hijinks ensue And, of course, it culminates in a big season finale that's also the story for MOM: Aftermath, where Teferi's time meddling just blinks the entire story back to War of the Spark.
I'm thinking there are some really neat opportunities to explore the potential story overlaps of Teferi's storyline with the plot of Kung Fury.
Though now that I'm thinking of it, a secret lair of just Teferi reprints styled for different time travel stories/franchises might actually be pretty neat.

An infuriating idea for a decent amount of players: have an option in arena where your lands are above your permanents and it's set like that to default. So you don't realize it until your in a game and have to go through a menu outside of the current game to fix it
Bad Idea - What better way to get someone to buy more cards than for them to lose those cards? Bring back Ante, and make it obligatory on Arena.

As someone who never plays with rares or mythics, I would *love* a common-only draft stream.

So my bad idea is a series of Secret Lairs, called "Are you sure this is a Magic card?" in which you find cross pollination of names of Magic cards from other TCGs, or similar effects, and print the Magic Card name, and rules text but as if it were from that card game. So like a Yu-Gi-Oh border and art for Yawgmoth, Thran Physician as Dark Magician, and four other either Iconic Yugioh cards, or just ones that happen to share a name (Like Metamorphisis I think is in both?) and then you do the same for the Pokemon TCG, Flesh and Blood, Digimon, Weiss Schwarz, and any other TCG willing to play ball. I don't really have specific cards in mind, but honestly, I'm kinda into it.
I'm also not sure how many of the LRR chat is legitimately into feet, and how many of us do it just because it's a funny joke that has spiraled way out of control. Though, no one will actually admit if they're in the first category, because of how much the bulk of the internet basically bullies anyone that admits to liking feet. Regardless, I feel like if you really want to twist the knife, you make two versions, one of Female-presenting feet and Male-presenting feet that's all the same cards, but redraws the art to be whichever gender it is. Also, Rob Liefield Secret Lair could also just be a fun horrid idea as well, completely separate from that.
that episode was crap and i loved it. the concrete slab made me think at a gp they could pore curb height "side walks" with black top in between. you have to play on the concrete while shitting on the black top. think no more peesky folding tables and chairs.

I have a running gag, with myself and excel, with every new expansion I count how many non reprint Minotaurs got introduced to the game. Its the only true and objective rubric for determining a sets overall quality. Homelands had 5. Amonkhet, Theros Beyond Death, Theros, Hour of Devastation, and Born of the Gods have more. Therefore, all other expansions are deemed "Worse than Homelands". That does mean that Coldsnap is "better"(?) than every expansion set on Mirroden/New Phyrexia and Innistrad combined.
