Thank you for offering more clarity that Microsoft does for us! One question I'd like to clarify is related to the M365 E3/E5 user set. Can these users add comments to task assigned to them or strictly only mark complete or % complete? The reason we are using Planner vs Project for the Web today is mostly because users CAN today (not on the preview yet) comment on tasks assigned to them. Thank you.

Hi, Yes, users with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses can add comments to tasks in Microsoft Project for the web.

What is required to try the premium planner in teams. I have a project plan 1 and a A1 license. But the premium appears and disappears in blink of eye in teams when click in new plan

if i understood correctly no one can read a premium plan without an additional project license? We are using MS Planner for a while and now i tested the premium features but just realized no one can read these plans and its not even possible to add premium plans to team groups (no problem with basic plans).

Hi Dave, team members that are part of the 'team/group' will have read only access to Planner 'Premium' plans, and with E3/E5 they also have the ability to update tasks assigned to them. Hope that helps 🙂

@@WellingtonePPM I found out already the problem. First finding new plans was just working with searching for his name but even group members couldn’t see it in the list. After they searched for it and pinned them access was fine. But they can’t read the premium tabs (eg gantt) without license. Just basic tabs are readable.
You can add premium plans to groups but just by choosing „ms project“.
What is extremely confusing is that Planner premium doesn’t exist outside teams. Basic plans are in ms planner web application (and can be migrated there to project) and premium plans are in ms project web application.
Even in teams premium plans are in ms project with the only exception the new planner app for teams. That’s why I could never find premium plans to add them to the channel.
