    Please don't leave your spent cartridges on the ground, take them home.... Thank you!

    If the CO2 cartridge doesn't have an insulating cover, slip on a cut-to-size section of hybrid bike inner tube. Prevents frost burn!
    Great videos btw.

    I'm not a fan of throw away products, inflating with a pump takes 2 minutes and you generate no waste! I could see them as the only option when time is of the essence, say for example at a race with no team support; but for training and general riding use a pump.

      I don't like the cartridges either, I've seen spent ones on the trail. :( Don't be lazy, use a pump.

      Ya but, you know that aluminium is 100% recyclable..not as your chain lubricant, damaged tires, and all plastic..even the sealent d
      That cannot be reused...maybe you don't know how much difficult is pump air when you are so fuckin tired after 30 km in 1h 1000m h
      Uphill n you need to come back home..believe me, cartrige are not so bad for enviroment. Just my two cent..

      @@stefanoboi6334 The cartridges are not aluminum, they are steel.

    I have a turnable valve, even better. The valve allowes full closure so I can reuse what's left of CO. I always pre-inflate with a minipump. With 16 grams I can inflate two roadtires to at least 6.5 bar.

    What size cartridge do you recommend for 35mm tubeless gravel tire - FOR RE SEATING BEAD AFTER TUBE REPAIR? Thanks

    If you use a full size frame pump, instead of those ridiculous short things, pumping is no problem. But, weight weenies will say, "A frame pump is heavy!" If you carry a mini pump and a CO₂ inflator have you saved any weight over a full size frame pump? Not really. Plus, weight weenies should really know that, at the same inflation pressure, the weight of carbon dioxide in the tire is 45% more than the weight of the same volume and pressure of air! If you use 16 gram CO₂ cartridges, that comes to 5 grams per tire of rotating mass extra using CO₂ over air.

    • @acruzp
      @acruzp 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +1 simply because you considered the weight of the carbon. That's just weight weenie gold right there.

    What psi/bar can you achieve with CO2, (road tire)

    • @bikedawg
      @bikedawg 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the width of the tire and the width of the wheel rim.

    PRO TIP: use only 12G CO2 cartridges for road tires. They don't need to be inflated to more than 90PSI, especially on newer wider wheels.

    • @Methodical2
      @Methodical2 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the tire size. That is good for a 23mm tire. I tested my 16g cartridges on 25mm tires (28mm when inflated) and only go 65psi. I will now carry 20g cartridges which gives me a bit more. See cartridges spec table below.

      COMMUTER TIP. It takes a 20g cart to fill a 700x32 to around 90 psi, perfect for my 32mm Gatorskins.

    how much g cos do i need to seat a tubeless tire that went off in the trail? is 16g enough? I am just trying to seat the tire, I have no problem pumping it to the desired pressure by hand. but I dare anyone tries to seat a tire using handpump.

    • @artscyclery875
      @artscyclery875  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seated a tire with Co2 is super tricky. If there's any leaks, you will lose air quick. I would opt for at least a 25gram co2 for attempting to seat tires.

    • @artscyclery875
      @artscyclery875  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ni Nick, most cartridges inflators will only be compatible with presta valves, so I'd recommend bringing a 20" presta tube and a 16g cartridge & inflator.

    Everything is always silky smooth on youtube until you are stuck in the middle of nowhere with mosquitos about to suck you dry and you are helplessly battling some co2 catridge that won't inflate the tire. I used one yesterday, it was the threaded one, noone told me once threaded, you have to finish using it otherwise, it won't stop releasing air. so, stop with the lies, you can't reuse a catridge that is already threaded. Long story short, I lost the air both in the catridge and the tire I was attempting to reinflate. Luckily I had a gas-station just 2 km away.

    • @artscyclery875
      @artscyclery875  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that! With most threaded inflators, you can thread the cartridge all the way in and get a seal. It isn't perfect and typically leaks slowly over a week or so...but in your situation would have saved the air.

    • @charliedee9276
      @charliedee9276 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly why one should practice the technique in the comfort of one's living room or garage if married. It WOULD be silky smooth if you knew how to do it ahead of time.
