      @@VeganPanda4 if you get a neg test it means your immune system isnt reacting to an active infection, and are sick or could become sick soon, not that youre not a carrier / your body is a host but isnt fighting + immune-system-ing, as far as I understand. When I get tests they give papers that says a negative test is just a negative test, it is a snapshot in time, not an "all clear hall pass". Good and bag bugs, viruses, and immune systems dont act in binaries like negative or positive, so masks, social distancing, vaxes, and general hygiene are just variables that we can choose to utilize like tools, while tests are more like a photograph instead of a tool bc its just a snapshot in time not a preventative measure. Using all possible tools as well as snapshots provides the most safe equation. Thinking about things systemically instead of black and white is always a good practice. Hope that helps!

It’s most economic to get a large amount of it so that the unit cost is smaller, yes? But that means you’re spending 20 dollars on syrup right now, with the expected use of it later - whenever that may be. If you’re living below your means to the point that you can only afford $1.50 for breakfast, why would you dish out that much money? You wouldn’t - right? Sorry for the paragraph, but eh, just my 2 cents

    • @emsha6836

      I see your point but that's just how it is. Usually you also have to buy a whole packet of rice and eggs to make fried rice for example. Even though you buy whole packets the fried rice is still a cheap dish. Just like in normal life you have to use groceries for multiple meals and portions. For that reason the single portion calculation is not wrong. This videos still givea good ideas for cheap vegan meals

    • @XxFluffyxX
      @XxFluffyxX 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@emsha6836 I understand that but at the same point a large portion or rice and eggs is still very cheap - whereas one pound of silken tofu is upwards of 3 dollars. Where rice is cheap, it will also last you weeks, while tofu is comparatively (by unit price) expensive and will be 3 meals

    problem is, 14$ isn't that much. Like its not like making a 50$ dish for one person. $14 is treating yourself, not splurging. Its still affordable. $1.50 is I need to feed my family on a budget.

    I love the fact that everyone in this video is a "natural beauty" if you know what I mean. Like: They don't wear huge amounts of make up and their looks don't distract from theie skills (nothing wrong with it if some people enjoy dolling themselves up. I just think it's refreshing to see such natural styles on YT).

    I feel that the price disparity is too large and because of this the cheaper one usually wins. Maybe in future it could be more cheap to mid range e.g. $1.50 - $9

    I enjoy this series but the price breakdown kills me everytime. Tofu alone would not cost 1.50 and then you are adding tortillas, flour, salsa...and no, you do not always have those on hand. You also cannot buy 1/4 of these items like they always do. I think you guys can do the exact same thing but make the prices more realistic!

    • @chloebree7975
      @chloebree7975 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's because they are only using a portion of the ingredients bought. E.g if you buy something that's 500g, that costs $10, and you only use 50g of that product, then it's $1 for that portion.
      So of course they are spending more money as a whole, but for the portion of food they're making, their prices are pretty reasonable

    What I think is weird with vegan recipes online, is that they're often trying to replace meat instead of making vegan meals

    • @adrian.gosling
      @adrian.gosling 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Weird in what way exactly? Personally, I would describe it as quite creative. All the different foods that can be made using only plants.

    • @Boomkop3
      @Boomkop3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@adrian.gosling there's vegan recipes, and then there's trying to substitute meat in non-vegan recipes. That's always going to be disappointing.
      I'd be interested in seeing dishes that were vegan, but wouldn't require some meat replacement.

    • @adrian.gosling
      @adrian.gosling 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Boomkop3 disappointed not necessarily. Vegan cuisine has come very far in recreating and reinterpreting old time classics that people grew up eating. It's also fun to know that you can make your own meat substitues at home. What I find fascinating is that by trying to mimick taste snd texture of actual meat, the outcome isn't entirely the same, but distinct in its own right and delicious. A new type of flavour has been created and very convincing may I add.
      People's taste preference reflect the current trend in the soaring demand of meat substitutes. The market of meat subtitions is continually rising. Each year passing they are becoming one step closer to the real thing. What always needs to be reminded is that people didn't stop consuming animal products because they didn't like the taste, on the contrary, they stopped because they don't want to contribute to the needless suffering of these animals. That's why vegan alternatives make perfect sense.
      Having said that, I think what you were simply getting at is that you would like to see more recipes without any meat or dairy subtitions in it. My diet primarily consists of this form of eating (whole plant foods) so I'm 100% with you on that. There are so many traditional recipes out there of many different countries that are vegan by default which are incredibly delicious.

    Producers got so mad because someone said a vegan lifestyle is more expensive, in a fog of anger they said a burrito is $1.50

  • @Culturedropout
    @Culturedropout 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Interesting. It might have been more fair, however, to make two meals costing $14 each - then you'd be looking at this huge pile of "really good" food vs. this single serving of "fantastic" burrito. Alternatively, cut the expensive burrito into 12 pieces and serve a single one of those. Now, would you rather have this really tasty, filling burrito, or a single bite of this amazing hors d'oeuvre? Of course, I think even bad vegan tacos are pretty good, so what do I know...? ;p
