[ENG sub] DIR EN GREY ● Undecided

This live is from the "TOUR08 The Rose Trims Again" DVD.
"Undecided" has always been one of my most beloved Dir en grey songs - music- and lyrics-wise. Back then when I first read that they would remake it, I was immediately filled with so much anxiety... but when it finally came out on the Glass Skin single, I actually fell even deeper in love with it...
This is a re-sub. I was rather unhappy with my old translation from 2011, so I re-translated the entire song, fixed the video quality, and also included the gut-wrenching aftermath of this song this time.
Notes:
1) 2:01 - Just a small detail: In the original song and the Blitz5Days live Kyo uses "僕 - boku", the softer version of the male "I", to refer to himself. In the newer release of "Undecided" and in this live, however, he uses "俺 - ore", a rougher, more harsh sounding version.
2) 4:42 - Most of the time "deai" ("meeting/encounter") is written as "出会い". Kyo used "出逢い" here, making it even more obvious that he is talking about a romantic encounter. ("逢" = meeting, tryst, date, rendezvous)
4:46 - Also: There is no "again" in the last line, but it is very much implied. "You and I will meet again" is a contextual translation. A literal translation would have been bland and inexpressive.
3) 6:22 - I'm not entirely sure I heard the last few words correctly as Die's guitar pretty much swallows all of them.
This song transitions right into "Higeki", by the way, which I've also re-subbed a while ago. • [ENG sub] DIR EN GREY ...

I’m actually learning Japanese at the moment, and the more I know, the more I believe that you just _get_ it. You manage to convey the meaning of Kyo’s lyrics in an impeccably succinct way that no other fansubs have. I just hope one day that I’ll be just as adept at translating Japanese as you have been, because as long as anime and Dir en Grey’s music exist in the world, there’s always a need for a deft translator.
