i wish dir en grey got more recognition for their contribution to metal and music. As an english speaker that has loved dir en grey for almost 20 years.....no words for how much i appreciate them
too bad their last good album came in 2005, after Withering and Kyo's throat surgery it just went too deathcore and weird for my taste but yeah, their first few albums should totally get more recognition
@@i_to_gawa different compared to what? if you look at what's popular these days, everything these guys have done is quite different to that you can't deny they style didn't change after Withering to Death, aand even before that, rest is just matter of taste

This song has been one of the most important songs to me since I've heard it (which was years ago)... No other song makes me feel so emotional, it almost feels like I am the one singing it. Every time I listen to it, it's very surreal...
Does anyone else wonder if the other guys in the band are ever watching what Kyos doing and is like, “uhhh, is he ok? Should we stop him? We didn’t rehearse this!?”
I think the same. I have the belief that Kyo at that time was not well at all. Maybe he really had ideas about killing or hurting himself. I think he used the theatrical performance at concerts to really hurt himself but make it go unnoticed.
Kyo has had his share of issues, back when they were touring for Withering To Death there was post-show backstage pics floating around where Kyo had scratched his chest so deep he was still bleeding after the show
@@kris.tea.p Theres interviews where kaoru talks about it. He said he and the other members trust him not to cut to deep or kill himself and also in another interview he said it was hard to watch
This song feels like something so private to me. I don't know if anyone knows this feeling, but I have shown this song only to a few certain people because it feels like showing my true thoughts
Thank you thank you thank you for translating all DEG songs and analyzing them! For me, Kyo's voice always manage to get me emotional...and on top of that, the Kaoru and Die on GUITARS, Toshiya on BASS, AND My Hero SHINYA on DRUMS, even their instruments seem to bring out MORE emotion! They SPEAKS TO YOU! Amazing band
i love this live so much... its like the same feeling i get when i first heard the second scream of ware, yami tote. the really intense one? i feel so bad for kyo, hes had to experience this horribly nasty, gut-wrenching feeling all the time. its so sad what hes been through. i love DEG, such great musicians.
Since Diru is known for making very sad songs, everyone, in your opinion, what is the saddest/most heartbreaking song by them? in my opinion it's Zakuro, especially watching the Blitz 5 Day version of it is very heartbreaking...
I have been listening to this song for years and I have never seen a performance that more closely resembles what I have been through. It's almost scary.
Just a little correction, "watashi" is used as pronoun for both genders. The feminine version is "atashi", without "W". This, considering romanji version. I think this is why many japanese songs say "watashi" when the character's point of view is seen in first person. It's directioned to both genders.
Men mostly use "watashi" in polite or formal language. Using "watashi" in an everyday situation will make you sound feminine, uncomfortably formal or like a grandpa. But yes it is gender neutral.
Wasn't this the song he wrote for his best friend that was in another band but he passed away? I don't really think its from the viewpoint of a woman or himself.
The song you mean is probably "Vanitas". "Mushi" is about a break-up and there is little room for interpretation that it's not from the viewpoint of a woman because Kyo uses a female/neutral version of refering to himself ("watashi") which is rather uncommon for guys (nowadays) who use the neutral "boku" or more harsh sounding "ore". Kyo has written many songs (the vast majority even) that weren't from his point of view or from a woman (such as Kasumi or Embryo or Tefu Tefu, to name a recent one). He also stated in interviews that he has done that.
"I scream for those who can't" - Kyo
exactly
I love that quote ❤❤❤
I heard this song when I was 17 and I thought I couldn’t continue living anymore.
Today, I am 30, and that feeling has crawled back, eating me alive.
Enjoy the darkness
you will make it through this, just as you made it through before. hang in there okay
Meditate, eat wholefoods, be physically active. I've been there myself. Don't let the darkness consume you.
I’m here for you, hope you see this

Absolutely do that when you get the chance. I saw them in NYC at the Bowery and it was pure magic.
I always come back to this song. I feel every word Kyo sings. I cannot hold my tears with this song.
My favorite Dir En Grey song. Kyo is an absolute god of vocals, the pure raw emotion he puts in his songs is just unmatchable.
2021 and I still come to this for a good cry
