Including specialist and elite training) Most (and especially US) army don't want to said it loud, but almost 90% of modern warfare is build from French military ways. Helicopter assault drop infantry, move and shoot tank war, multi-arms fighting : all of it theory crated and used by French before everyone else. Other than "waves tactics" (Russian) and drones war (Middle orient terrorist mostly). Hell, even the Corp army system (aerial, army, naval, engineer, intendance), army rank and more come from them...
To clarify: The more disorganized the retreat appears, the more caution should be exercised.

We do have people that live in death valley though, and the army's national training center is relatively close to there.
