Another well told tale of that pack of liars known as humanity. Luis didn’t know that he was really going to die when he did what the grunts call the bullet dance while trying his hardest to save his friend and as many coworkers as possible. But he did know the odds were heavily weighted against his survival and did the bullet dance anyway.
Great Ceasar's Ghost, I had never thought of lies in that light before, but it does make some sense. It's too bad that truth can be even scarier than lies.
Greater love has no man than this: that a man give up his life for his friend. Edit: you need to stop making me cry at work my dude. Someone is going to catch me eventually.
We do have a whole group of people who are excellent liars. They are teachers. They dedicate their lives to teach the young lies about the world that they can understand, so when they are older they can strive to understand a version of the truth. Teachers are awesome
I like the HFY stories that blatantly expose us to ourselves for who and what we are. It proves the importance of science fiction of looking into the mirror from the point of view of the outside
Some people want fantasy works(scifi included) be more escapism from what we are. Some enjoy the mirror gazing but those of us who do it know it's not pretty so I can't blame others for not wanting to.
Obligatory Terry Pratchett's Hogfather reference here (Paraphrased) You have to believe the little lies (Hogfather) to believe the enormous ones (justice, fairness, etc)
What is this obsession with pointlessly listing what position you hold in the comments?? No one other than the person posting said pointless comment care smh

Agro always chooses good stories then narrates them with the greatest excellence!
I don't know why, but him saying end of story makes the stories more fulfilling to listen to
"...they are borne alone, and grow alone." Believe it or not, it made me drop a tear. I miss my parents...
I'm sorry... Hopefully you can tell a story or two about them or just reminisce about fun times.
The Onion Ninja's snuck up and got me again.
TY for the great read.
I too enjoyed the story, ninjas and all.
Yup. I have to stop listening to these onion ninjas ones at work. We need a warning or something.

Great men and good men rarely overlap
But we should always strive for truth even if it sucks.
Lies to help soften the blow and ease us into the truth.

I know lol I'm a baker, throwing croissants in the oven and suddenly I've got tears Dripping down my face!

No great love hath a man than to lay down his life for another.

The worst lie of all is the one you live through but the liar does not...all to protect you.
Hell of a lot of truth in a story about lies!! Off to find more from this author.....
This story is verry well written, and Agro´s narration is spot on! Hats of for the both of them!
Brilliant. Kudos to the author, that didn't go the way I expected.
Deep emotional response
Very interesting take on human psychology. Good story.
This one was worth doing again.
I think ill have some purple vapors in his honor.
This was beautiful 😻
Thats may be one of the best
Now that humanity are all know liars, let me tell you about a sweet deal I have on landon alpha centuries
I've got some self sealing stem bolts if you're keen
Alpaca wool is pretty soft and expensive on Earth. I wonder if it would have been a better deal to trade.
I was expecting him to find out he would have made bank on the deal

What a great story
thanks
Hell of a story
For the Algorithm, for the Author(s), for the Disembodied Voice!
I had a bad feeling the story was gonna turn out that way when the attack started.
Holy fuck onion ninjas!
the old ones are excellent, as if you run out of good story's to tell
Well, that was quite poignant. [Edit: 2,206 views and only 383 upvotes. That seems a rather poor show of appreciation.]
I have a few vapors after that
These damned onion ninjas... truly a wonderful story, however.

People just like to mark their existence. It's not really a big deal.
It's the Wizard Merlin 🧙♂️, probably some kind 'o spell or some such.
Might be in touch with the Great AL Go Rythm.
Sometimes we elect them President. 😮😮😮
