As a name, Isha actually means, “one who protects”. It’s a name from Hindu culture & I would say that also applies very much so to Isha as a character. 🩵🦋✨
This is so well thought through, I don't think I had recognized how critical a part Isha plays in moving SO many things forward, in terms of character and even plot. So true, for a character who doesn't speak, her actions and presence said SO much, and I think Act 3 will be propelled greatly by how she showed up in Act 2.
I am loving your videos. I already posted my thoughts on 2x6 so I won't repost. Also good point about Isha also helping Vi accept her sister as she is (Vice versa) and maybe is worth someone saving. Didn't think about it that way also even though Isha was meant to help heal them, just a good way to analyze it. You're becoming goated reactor and content creator, appreciate it!
Isha was standing for every good aspect of theirs. she was reminding them too many thing about being friend, sister, family... Isha's self sacrifice will effect them a lot. I just hope it will be a good thing. Because i'm really scared of we will see fully Jinx now. We might lost Powder forever. Thank you for the video 🤗
i think isha gets revived by singed as a test subject before his daughter, its the heavy parallels even down to Vi like marcus stopping them from doing something that would clearly pointlessly get them killed. through act 2 Jinx is basically going through Vi's journey
Even though vander did his best, he, just like silco passed down their traumas to both vi and jinx. Vi being burdened with so much at such a young age and on top of that vander making her feel responsible for the others too made her lose her sense of self. Constantly blaming herself for others mistakes and turning herself into a punching bag. Jinx being overprotected made her feel useless and not needed, constantly doubting herself and never believing she was worth saving or capable of doing good. Isha changed that for them. Isha showed them the opposite and what future was possible. I hope we get to see positive growth from the short presence isha had in their lives in the next act. Both vi and jinx for a long time have not known a life where they weren't always on survivable mode. Isha in hindu translates to the "one who protects", for the first time in a long time, someone finally protected vi and jinx 😭
IMO, if the writers feel bound by the league lore and the characters having to end up at their game state, thats a detriment to the storytelling. I think what they've been hinting at is that these characters can GROW PAST their in game versions. We've already basically seen the version of jinx that's in the game. Why should she need to come back at the end of the show? They could instead have you play with the jinx that was pre-Isha. Hell, the version of Taliyah in the game is like, 15? Or something, but her lore has progressed into young adulthood. This allows for them to be able to be free in their writing of these characters and take them to places we wouldnt necessarily have expected
If I had to guess, I think Jinx is going to be depressed for a couple episodes but end the series by becoming the version of herself that Isha always believed she could be. A big fat hero who protects the innocent, who frees the unjustly imprisoned, who stands up to authority and inspires the people. Just in her own wacky, chaotic, and explosive way. If anything, the traditional Jinx from her in game voicelines might be a sort of larger than life mask she puts on when she's going out to cause some trouble, in order to intimidate enemies and entertain allies Also! I've been wondering if in some way Isha is meant to be a sort of reincarnation, literal or metaphorical, of Vi and Jinx's mother Felicia, come back in their moment of greatest need to stop her daughters from fighting, to heal their wounds and bring them together, and in the end to protect her little girls one last time. Notice the similarity in names? The fact that Isha was probably born not long after Felicia died? That Felicia's death caused Vander to lose his head and try to kill Silco, but Isha's presence calms him and helps him regain his humanity? And also the fact that we even see Felicia wearing a helmet similar to Isha's in the "Remember Me" sequence in episode 6? (Which also adds a new layer to Isha almost getting shot by an enforcer in episode 3, but this time Vi actually manages to protect her)
there is also a very important parallel in there when Vi held Jinx back from coming to Isha's rescue. It is the very same Vi was held back by Marcus in ep3 of S1. I love that even if you know Ekko's ability from the game it is impossibloe to predict the end of the story at this point. There are so many possibilities at play ^^
Think you missed the mark a bit about Vi;s acceptance of Powder. Vi always accepted her sister. She's the only one in the story that did, including Powder herself. That's why Powders actions cut so deeply and broke her so thoroughly. "Jinx" was a strong, competent engineer and tinkerer whose gadgets and intelligence gave her strength.. exactly who Vi said Powder could be all the way back in S1E1. It's not the person that Powder became that Vi didn't accept, it's her actions. Jinx is a serial killer and most of her body count are innocent Zaunites that didn't capitulate to the drug lord that destroyed Vi's family. It took multiple acts of mass murder and the attempted cold-blooded murder of Vi herself to get Vi to even temporarily stop offering Jinx her hand.. that's about as insanely accepting as you can get.
If Vi had allowed Caitlyn to take the shot, and Isha had been killed along with Jinx, there would not have been martial law imposed, potentially saving many more lives (now lost), and preventing a lot of brutality. I think this is what Caitlyn was hinting at when she told Vi she has the same blood as Jinx in her veins. As in they both don't look past the repercussions of the immediate moment. Caitlyn wanted to prevent escalating tension and all out war. I just realized both Ambessa and Silco have several similarities.
The same rational can be applied to her use of the Grey as well. If Caitlyn's small strike force doesn't get approved, Salo will have his way and start a fully mobilized invasion of Undercity with HexTech armed enforcers. Using the Grey is horrific, but how many lives are saved by doing that instead of turning the entire undercity to glass.
its repeatly shown caitlyn underestimated the shear scale of the problem and she believed could fix a problem thats been festering for 30 years in 2 weeks, she unleashing the grey killed any chance of talking as it just another reminder to zaun Pilotver has them on a leash. the whole idea with Caitlyn and Vi they weren't looking at the bigger picture at all they were doing things that made them feel good, then saying its for the greater good. marshal law would still be imposed as the grey would've still been fired right back at piltover and Vi would leave Caitlyn as a child died for no reason or things aren't getting better and she helped kill her sister.
While I would agree there are positives in the relationship between Jinx and Isha, I also feel that people are subsconsciously ignoring the clear toxicity in the relationship. Put simple. Jinx (unintentionally) groomed Isha to recklessly die from the moment they met. From the first word "poow" to the first fingergun gestrue (echoed back at her death), the "lessons" Jinx imprinted on Isha were about not caring about yourself, being willing to act rashly, shooting first and asking questions later. It is very interesting that almost everyone is ignoring this despite it being one of the clearest narrative portrayals of this unintentional, toxic imprinting that Ive ever seen. Yes Jinx provided for Isha, as Silco did for her. Yes Jinx loved Isha, as Silco loved her. And unlike SIlco who intentionally used Jinx in destructive ways, theres no way Jinx knew what impact she was having on Isha. But that doesnt mean its not there.
Isha is an acronym. It stands for "Inescapable Sadness, Happiness Averted".

I hope this happens because the characters are already so different from the games! The games feel like a snapshot of who they were once in the past

I don't think Jinx will end up like in the game, even if Isha died, she already changed Jinx.
Cool video
Thanks yeah, took a pretty deep dive into LoL!
Isha was a great character 💙

But wait, there's more someone's going in the ground

I cried so much when Isha sacrificed herself. I'll be so glad if it was a missdirect, but I also understand if they take the story a different way.
