Right, the heads of these organizations are usually paid very well. However, many of those working there are volunteers, and the property pays no taxes, thus more money to steal. Having worked with some of these groups, most will refuse shelter solely because they cannot use alcohol and drugs. I never encountered one person who became homeless except by their own fault. I did, however, lose a condo due to a special assessment which I could not pay and thus moved to a cheaper one here in Portland. Along Burnside the homeless problem has gotten even worse thanks to the political hacks here. At times everyone is homeless on the bus including now their dogs. Not to mention waiting one half hour to cash a small check at Fred Meyer thanks to my bank closing and the long lines of homeless to cash in their bottles.
A shock? No, like every other church they've been seeing attendance crater. Members are fewer and grayer. Lighter offering plates. Performing more funerals than baptisms. Excellent trend.

And you know all of this how?
@@danarose6314 The numbers don't lie. The liberal denominations are all shrinking.
Ain’t nothing non profiting on non profits. Many profiting by servicing the needy
