The focus should be on your shot process - executing your shot the same way 100% of the time. The end result, hopefully, is winning.
In addition; let’s be honest, maybe 15 to 20 archers (in the USA) actually make a living shooting archery. Many pro archers have full time jobs. I appreciate your insight.

I do agree with the statement, if you aren't first you lost. But focusing on winning will pretty much mean you are going to lose. You need to have more than winning as your focus. Winning is a by-product of practicing and putting together everything you did in practice.

I'm not sure of "Just shoot your bow".. That's equivalent to saying "Just out fling'ing arrows", the term drives me crazy. Yes, winning is a by product of practice and shooting well, focusing on winning does NOT product the results. What should be focused on is impressing yourself everytime you go out to a tournament. If you go out to a tournament, aiming to impress yourself based on your practicing and you do, your "outcome" will always be positive. If you shoot your absolute best and completely impressed yourself, then still lose to a person who shot their best. There is literally nothing you can do EXCEPT improve, the question is what do you work on. You work on consistency, you work on holding better, stablization, etc.. Then, you go to the next tournament aiming to put all these together and impress yourself again, if you did it right, then your scores will improve and eventually you'll be winning. But at the end of the day, you aren't "Just shooting your bow", you are shooting with intent and a purpose.
