Levi I got the TruFire Sear because you endorsed it… shot 30 arrows and the set screw came lose.. tightened it up, and when it seemed solid, mid draw the set screw stripped all the threads and launched back at my mouth at Mach Jesus, knocking me clean out cold… Ordered a replacement 3 days later, the replace ment smacked my in the eye. Returned 2 within a week,, if I were you I’d be racing to remove any enforcement from those releases
Yes, yes, yes! I needed to hear someone say this! I’ve only been shooting 10 weeks, and this is what I’ve been experimenting with the last week, wondering... . If I remember to push my elbow to as high as comfortably possible, I get arrows touching. If I forget to check in with my elbow I get arrows touching, but it a different spot. I thought I was crazy until I started to digest it. I needed to hear someone like you confirm it. Thank you! I really find your videos helpful!
EVERY time I watch one of Levi's videos I learn something new and instructional! I have been shooting for 40 years and "safer at home" has forced me to learn how to shoot a hinge correctly. These videos are SO damn good and make SO much sense!!
Very beneficial lesson. Makes the mystery of my longer misses as a left hander make sense. I was pulling vertical to get my elbow straight. Two fixes, my peep was too low causing me to collapse maybe an inch to two inches at full draw and in order to get my shoulders and my elbow in the right position, I was moving my release vertical. Fixed my peep and naturally I am completely open at full draw. Now moving my release to a slight cant to the left untwists my d-loop and much cleaner breaks and sight picture opened up too.
It took 25 years to hear this BUT now I know why I am always “slightly” off to the right. Consistently. Time to bring it over. 👍. Thanks as always Levi!
Damn this might have solved my problem with a hinge. I’ve been hitting right with my UV hinge vs my UV bottom. I’ve noticed I hold my hinge a lot flatter than my button. Thanks for the tip!!
Thanks so much for these videos. My goal as a bowhunter is to make the most ethical shot on an animal, the more accurate we are the better ethical shots we make. Thanks again
Going through this right now I also been putting the sight next to the center and my eye on the center that’s where I’m hitting always learning and this video is helpful.
You just explained to me why I’ve been getting some left right misses! I tried being very conscious of my release hand and it all but fixed those shots !
I learned all abut release angles decades ago. You change releases, and shoot through paper, and your tuning will change. Been that way for a looooong time. All us old timers know this stuff. Trick is, whatever release you plan to use.... tune with that release, and all will be good.
Thank goodness you said something about back tension because of the Dudley effect going on these days. Between yourself and Jesse Broadwater I’ve learned a lot. I’d love a full bow build video in the future ( indoor setup)
Thanks Levi for sharing all these tips, it really open my eyes and i’ve learn so much from just watching your video. Is it possible for you to do a video on how you judge yardages?
I was literally experimenting with release angle tonight before I even saw this! It definitely does change how you shoot and it affects accuracy/consistency. Thank you for all your amazing insights. You have helped make me a better archer ever since I started watching you on TV and TH-cam from 2010-present. And more importantly your steadfastness to your walk with Christ is very encouraging!
Thanks for that cool video. Could you do a new video about the process of the Push-Pull technique with a trigger release? I mean the principles are clear but how you make it and what you think it is important and why. There are so many variables like Release Placement etc. which affects the whole system.
I simply can change up my angle, if I do, all goes to pot. Seems to be no real answer. Three inch groups will have to do, and changing up at this stage of my hunting life just won't work. Love the page...........
Peter updike totally agreed every time I watch something I think that could help me I have to change sights an start all over hoping to improve my shot
Insane! I was just wondering about this. One day I'll be hitting my center and the next morning completely missing by inches but grouping is on point. So I tune my bow to where I'm hitting the Center again and the next day same thing, I'll be missing but groups are solid. Thank you I'll be paying attention to this tomorrow
I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and input. I have a Halon pro comp and found that the new string is extending to the point of impacting the cable guide. Small pieces of the kisser was being left behind on the guide so I removed the kisser incase the weight of it is a factor cause I have no idea. Never had this issue with a bow and worried the string will be compromised, this is my only outlet to decompress from life. Please help when and if u can. Love ur vids and much respect.
How does angle change if your nose it hitting the string the same spot? The release is on a swivel more or less with the d loop how does that effect shot?
Levi , if your D-loop isn't long enough....as you change the angle of the release.... isn't that also gonna change your shot impact since a twisted D loop is gonna put torque on the string ???
Levi with a caliper wrist release I've notice that if the head is twisted a bit it'll throw my shot off. I was wondering if you've noticed this as well
Hey Levi. I'm a swhacker man and I have a question. I'm going elk hunting for the first time this year and planning on shooting the 1.75 swhacker. Total arrow grain weight is 464 at 60lbs on my bow. Is this a good elk combo?
Great advice!! I need a little help, I seem to consistently miss low at my 90 yard practice distance, not always, but when I do miss I miss low. Inconsistent anchor? Keep in mind I only practice with my fixed blade broadheads, from 80 and in I'm dead on. Curious how much the blades on my broadheads affect accuracy at long range.
@Finq08 everything you said makes total sense, outstanding advice I really appreciate it. I also have the tendency to hold/aim low, what you said about a lower anchor point at long distance will help tremendously. Strange how I forget these fundamentals, I've been at this archery game a long time. Also what you said about draw feeling too long is what I feel at 90+ yards and scrunched up at close range, I will work on the things you recommend. Thank you again

I just got a hinge release and I was struggling to hit the same marks as my button release. This tip fixed it instantly!!
EVERY time I watch one of Levi's videos I learn something new and instructional! I have been shooting for 40 years and "safer at home" has forced me to learn how to shoot a hinge correctly. These videos are SO damn good and make SO much sense!!
Just started shooting. Hope to take a whitetail this year. Love your info, thank you.
This is the best advise so far I've seen a lot of back tension videos and was wondering why it was more difficult.
Very beneficial lesson. Makes the mystery of my longer misses as a left hander make sense. I was pulling vertical to get my elbow straight. Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling for a while and figured I’d give this a try and it was night and day difference! Thanks Levi!
Dude that's crazy I've been asking this for years and haven't been able to get an answer thank you for being the one that covered this topic
Great tip Levi, thank you very much, I never knew that the pitch of your release hand would have so much influence in my shot. Awesome 😎
It took 25 years to hear this BUT now I know why I am always “slightly” off to the right. Consistently. Time to bring it over. 👍. Thanks as always Levi!
for me I am off to the left. I am right handed, and shoot with a flat hand.
The most ethical shot, is not to shoot at ANY animal
Thank you so much for this analysis!
Going through this right now I also been putting the sight next to the center and my eye on the center that’s where I’m hitting always learning and this video is helpful.

I know this is going to help me as well, I knew about all this. Guess sometimes we need reminding
Levi
I love the new broadheads.i have used schawckers for few years now and will not shoot anything else but the new blue ones
Thanks s million.
awesome tip! please do more videos , just short and sweet for all your contents

use a range finder
Ky,Archer19 can’t use range finders if you’re shooting unknown class
I like these video because besides the fact they are easy to fallow and make sense to me, they dont drag onnnnnnn

Levi you are a champion man thank you 🏹
Five minutes of gold.
Great advice! Thanks Levi!
That right there explains a lot to me. Great video!!👍
Hey Levi, great video. can you share with us the video you spoke of relating to Back tension and todays harder walled bows? Thanks!
Man, some KILLER advice. Thanks for that!
Explained well, Thanks 👍😎
Great tips
Great stuff !!! 🤩
Thanks for that cool video.

Thanks Levi 👍
Awesome advice
Thanks for the insight
This helps a lot dude thanks!
Does more drastically changing the angle put odd pressure on the d loop with it twisting?

Great video. What is the setup in your left hand? Assuming it’s to practice releasing??
How does angle change if your nose it hitting the string the same spot?
The release is on a swivel more or less with the d loop how does that effect shot?

Do you find the release angle also affects the torque applied to your d-loop and string?
How you doing levi sorry to bother you what would you consider the best grunt call in your opinion
Thanks Brett
I'm looking to try a hinge release but I've never shot with 1 before, what would you recommend

I saw you at across dollar general
I want to get a blue trx 34 like yours
New to the sport. What is in your left hand? I am having troubles with this and excited to find my spot and keep it the same
