How can anyone be critical of anything you do ? The fact you're out there doing something most people can't do is simply AMAZING. You're one AMAZING young lady.
Just a heads up for when you move into Griz country,,,,,,,,, It's never a good idea to camp right next to a stream, especially when alone and not in a group. Bears frequently use streams as travel corridors, and for looking for food sources. Camp 20 yards or so off the stream bank, to give Bears and other critters room to pass. No matter how magical a spot may be it's a bad idea. This is not a criticism of your choice, but is meant to inform you of something you may not know, and to keep you SAFE!!!!!!!!! See you down the trial! Baloo the bear.
Wow, that bear pair was amazing. It must have been a heart-stopping moment when mama turned back to the water. I'm sure you were thinking that if she would have been surprised by you, she might have had a "shoot first and ask questions later" response.
What a rare privilege to have a sighting of a bear and her cub like that. Thanks for sharing it with us, and all of your videos. I am loving watching your journey from England
Wow!!! Such a tiny baby!! I’ve never seen one anywhere close to that small. I think I probably would have made my presence known sooner and scared them. Glad you held your tongue. Best for the bear and baby. Enjoying your content. Hope to do the cdt soon. 🐻🐻👍🏻
Love the Gila. Two years ago I actually picked up a CDT thru hiker that had hurt his knee on trail. Gave him a ride to Las Cruces because he had family there.
Wow!!! what a special moment to see momma bear and her tiny cub!! Way to hang in there on the switchbacks , rocks and loose soil. Not forgetting the "forest roads" hike!
What an incredible treat with the bear✨blessings to you little skittle. Not sure how anyone could judge, criticize any moment of you or your journey. You are so inspiring 💛
I always cowboy camp when possible. When 'thruing', it's the 'little' skittle 'things that matter'. Did you hear where CA outlawed you, in '23. Im backtrackin' . . . Love seein' the baby bears . . .
28 miles, like wow. As for cowboy camping, I say do it every night you can. I have to play catch up now. Looking forward to it. Did you have the bear spray at the ready just in case. Bet when she turned around your heat missed a beat. No one to save you out there except yourself. Lovely to see them.
Tough day but you described it beautifully. I really don’t have a bucket list but the Gila Wilderness has always loomed large in my wilderness conscience.
Wow that is pretty special to get to see a mama bear and cub. And as far as Cowboy camping it is something I have done and I love to stare at the stars. You definitely are the real deal thank you for sharing. Be safe stay healthy
Becca, thanks all the way from the UK for sharing your amazing journey with us, what you are doing is inspiring and I am enjoying every post you make. It’s hard for me to believe that anyone would be crass enough to criticise you for anything you do on this trip but if they do just ignore it, it doesn’t matter. Well done for making it this far and those bears, wow. My wife and I have slowly been visiting the wonderful National Parks of the USA over past years and after 17 park visits we still haven’t seen a bear. Maybe one day. Keep going Becca.
Cowboy camping is great! My tent on the PCT was just for bad weather. (Love the freckles BTW) Good luck with your hike and have fun. geek, 1990 and 2002
Love seeing you on trail again and I’m looking forward to trying some cowboy camping myself looks like a lot of fun I’ve always camped in a tent ⛺️ so something different sounds exciting god bless you on your journey ahead
What a magical bear experience. Thinking of those river crossings and how much faster things dry out on the CDT compared to the AT where things never quite dry.
The bears were so cool. You're doing amazingly. I understand you are enjoying walking alone, but some areas on the trail are pretty scary when going solo. I watched Daisy and JeniferJourneys do the CDT and I think Jenifer was alone for most of the trail. As George said, I can't imagine anyone being critical!
Doing great! Keep going as you are going to go the distance. Dont look at elevation on maps/apps the night before or track miles. It will all take care of itself and then all the sudden you’ll be at the end, woo-hoo!
Those cubs are probably about 3 to 3 1/2 months old. Cubs are born mid-January to early February - during the winter in den. They will den with her this coming winter, and sometime in May/early June next year, she'll chase them off. I have them come up to my windows during this period - they are so sad and pathetic - missing Mamma, unsure why they aren't welcome anymore, don't know what to do or where to go. It is a battle to fight that urge to go out and snuggle them. LOL How awesome you got to watch them for a bit.
Beautiful place to see♥The trail condition reminds me of walking in southern Spain! But I had nice big boots on !!🥾🥾 Why would one pitch a tent if one dose not need to ?!?!(I mean dose one wear ones waterproofs in the sun simply because one has them ?!) When you refered to the essential one might suggest you were indicating "The Bear Neccessitys of Life" you know those simple bear nesseccities.......!🙂 The funny bit is that you considered someone🐻did not assess you as young human female alone and asleep before venturing down to drink strangly bears are not as blind and deaf as city dwelling humans Though she used your smell to assess you🌹 And you thought she did'nt know you were there🤣
4 give me...... but, u r ineffable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at least here. the rest i'll never know 8( little by little i'm catching up w u ! 1 vid at a time.

Most people don’t know they can do it, or are not willing to.
An amazing treat to see momma bear and baby bear. You'll remember that forever. Keep trekking. 😀

Howdy Becca and the Bears! Way cool! That will stick with ya forever!
Oh wow. Tears seeing that little baby. Im so glad mama didn't turn and come towards you.
A CDT hiker last year counted 50 crossings in one day. Have fun. Great bear footage. Good Luck, Rick

Amazing bear footage. You ARE an amazing hiker.
That mama bear and her cub. Priceless! Right place. Right time.
Momma and baby bear were amazing! Great finish to a long day. The irony of carrying a tent that you don't use, might as well carry an anvil.
Love the Gila. Two years ago I actually picked up a CDT thru hiker that had hurt his knee on trail. Gave him a ride to Las Cruces because he had family there.
Bear Magic….you handled it perfectly.
There is nothing better than falling asleep under the stars! Cowboy camp as much as you are able.
Wow!!! what a special moment to see momma bear and her tiny cub!! Way to hang in there on the switchbacks , rocks and loose soil. Not forgetting the "forest roads" hike!
What a neat campsite. Wow. In the morning it will be gorgeous-well its all gorgeous! BEAR! Wow how lucky you are!!!
The bears were unexpected thanks. ✌🏻👊

Beautiful! It makes me miss my home state New Mexico. I need to go back...
That bear was awesome. You are kickin butt on that trail
Your awesome, great footage. You are also the perfect candidate for a sil tarp. 8' x 10'
Seems your spirits are up. Awesome. Lots of pretty walks.
amazing bear footage-- that would have scared the shit out of me

You missed Doug the hermit. Fascinating guy. His cabin is just east of the Regis-Tree.
Girl, YOU ROCK!!!!

Wow! Such a neat experience to be able to see the bear at that distance.
Hi Becca 👋 thank you for sharing such an amazing experience 👊appreciate you my friend, stay safe and take care🙏✌️
The bear gave me chills!
Excellent!!!!
Now that is an experience you will never forget!
What a gift to see that.
I grew up there and never saw a bear with cubs. Just adult bears. Very cool 👍🏻
bear cubs are about the cutest things ever. looking forward to watching your smiling face all the way to yellowstone
wow the little thing so small....the luck found you.....enjoy the stars....God Bless!
Becca thank you so much for bringing us along with you! Getting to see those bears was a treat!
Oh my goodness I’d be freaking out if I saw that mama and her cub, but holy smokes is it so cute climbing back uphill! That camp spot looks amazing!!
You are so great to watch. You do a great job of producing videos and keeping it real. The bear and cub were incredible. What an experience!
That was an incredible experience. So cute and scary. Great video!
Gorgeous country there! And amazing footage of mama and baby bear! Breathtaking even from my vantage point at home. Thank you Little Skittles.
Cowboy camping is great! My tent on the PCT was just for bad weather. (Love the freckles BTW) Good luck with your hike and have fun.

Dang, fell four episodes behind 🐻
Sunday night watch party.
Glad that Bear didn't want Skittles as a snack. Lol
A really cool experience! Way to keep your head on straight !
Love seeing you on trail again and I’m looking forward to trying some cowboy camping myself looks like a lot of fun I’ve always camped in a tent ⛺️ so something different sounds exciting god bless you on your journey ahead
Skittles. Gila. Bear. Energy...
Taking it into bar trivia!
Excellent!! Thank u for the video.

Wow! that is some amazing views.
At least you didn’t have to contend with “uphill” hikers like Whitney…great vid!

Wow !!!! Awesome .... :D
great shot of the bear
Great bear encounter!
High drama on the Gila!
❤
Gila next. The crown jewel of NM CDT. Enjoy!
Neato!
You should get some bear spray just in case you see a MOUNTAIN LION!!!
Do you carry a SAT phone or something if the hike really goes sideways?
How do you know if your on trail?
Cowboy camp is fun... till a Rattlesnake Curls up in your warm lap
👍👍👍😎
I guess I'm just a chicken because I wouldn't cowboy camp in an area which is obviously rattlesnake territory! Hike on!
How lucky was that.
Figure the mosquitoes will eventually come out and chase you into the tent. Until then, enjoy the open sky.
Hi Becca I hope you have bear spray, I wish u weren’t by yourself all the time but you don’t seem lonely so that’s good I suppose, be careful
Try a Ladysmith S&W
Only weighs 14oz
Talk about cognitive dissonance. Never would have expected to see bear in that desert landscape. Very cool.
