Hi everyone! This channel is all about sharing my outdoor adventures in hopes of inspiring others to get outdoors if they can and have an adventure of their own. I started sharing my outdoor adventures about 4 years ago on Instagram; nothing special, usually just a summit photo paired with a series of clips describing my day hikes with my French Bulldog, Buddy. In 2019, I leveled up to TH-cam when I decided to thru hike the Pacific Crest Trail. It ended up being the highest snow year on record, but after 135 days, I successfully walked all 2,650 miles. It was no easy feat, especially after learning my grandmother passed away just after reaching Oregon, and though I started alone, I met many people along the way who helped me keep one foot in front of the other. Someday I hope to become a Triple Crown Hiker, but until then, you can find me sharing all my adventures here or on Instagram at @ms_rebecca_ann
Oregon Coast Trail FKT: Bullards to Humbug Mountain
In August of 2024 I attempted to set the first Fastest Known Time (FKT) of an unsupported woman on the Oregon Coast Trail. While this would be my first ever speed record attempt, it was a somewhat casual endeavor in the sense that there was no current record for unsupported so I just needed to go at a pace I could manage from beginning to end. That said, if I needed to seek external support for gear, food, etc, starting out unsupported would afford me the opportunity to pivot and transition into setting a new self supported women’s FKT, which has been held by Lucia Powell since 2018 with a time of just over 13 days. Outside of thru hiking, I have zero background in endurance sports so I’m not quite sure what business I had trying to see if I had it in me to break into the FKT community, nevertheless in the pursuit of an unsupported attempt, but I’ve experienced a building, persistent attraction since learning about this type 2 (type 3?) fun. Part of it is definitely the women who’ve come before me: the Ashly Winchesters, the Ivey Smiths, the Tara Dowers, the Liz Derstines, the Nika Meyers, of course the Jennifer Pharr Davises and Heather Andersons, and many others. Their wild undertakings have stoked a fire and inspired me to test my determination, grit and strength by pushing beyond my comfort zone in my favorite style, traveling solo. These women have shown me that you are enough and so much more capable than you give yourself credit for, all of which can be discovered in the pursuit of a challenge like an FKT. As they say, you’ll never know if you never try.
I’m still partnered up with @HyperliteMountainGear as an ambassador so if you want to take advantage of 15% off your order, use “BECCA15” at checkout! They have a lot of great new gear, like the Unbound 40L pack I brought on the AT and OCT, and also the Aero, their newly released 28L fast pack for those who want to go further and lighter.

Appalachian Trail 2023 Update

I know, I know. This update is long overdue, but when I give the rundown of why I ghosted, I hope you’ll understand why I needed to step away. If you’ve watched any of my other trail videos then you know that grief is a constant theme of my hikes and my time on the Appalachian Trail did not spare me any heartbreak whatsoever. My videos are uploaded with a delay and I had them scheduled to post ...

Becca I hope you are well.
Where are you?...you've done this before.🥺
Yep empire is the butt hole of oregon😂
Did you finish the hike?
Are you cold soaking or cooking on a stove? No bear spray for grizzly territory? Bear hang supplies? Not going to cut your nails the whole trip? No Ice axe or micro spikes? I feel like a lot was left out…
Oh neat, we were on the OCT at the same time! Really curious to see how you managed with all the logistics. I stopped at the hiker camp first day and thought 23 miles on day one was pretty good, so it's wild to me you did 40 miles with those two mountains in the way.
This visual coldness was nice 😅 I'm in a desert and it's gonna be a HOT halloween 🎃 🫣
You missed the wildest part of the OCT by roadwalking. Blacklock Point is amazing.
Right? It’s good for her to play it safe, especially if a high river would cauae the FKT attempt to fail. But dang, that section is so gorgeous. Floras lake, blacklock, the old growth driftwood walls on these beaches, the rivers, the pelicans, the lighthouses, … oh well. It makes a grest section hike so I guess she could always come back and just do that part.
This is why I think FKT’s are kinda dumb.
She could have avoided crossing the Sixes River and still have gone to Blacklock Pt. Then taken the Pt. Oxford. Airport rd over to the highway.
Yowers!!! I remembered you had several Nosebleeds during the first two days of your CDT northbound back in 22. Hope they go away.
Oh it looks like England at this time of year 🌧⛈🌦🌧🌧🌦 🌧‼ But brings back memorys of Spain long down hill bike ride off top of pyranees could'nt see a thing in the driving rain constantly sprayed by 16 wheelers and a failed front brake so could'nt have stopped if I wanted to and by long I mean 30 min just hang on to the white line 🚵♂🛣 Feet look good in the circumstance 🤩😍🐾 Great view 3:23 & so glad you reached your destination🙂 Anon 😁💖🤗
The complete quote from Churchill was, “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.” We mustn't forget the toil. I'm glad you're taking us along on this hike. It's certainly not one I'd do for myself.
Becca, what brand of sneakers do you wear? Nice video
Hi, Becca . . . good to see you hiking so well, after the AT. hiking with you . . . again.
Yep! This is one trail I am glad to watch you walk while not walking it myself ☹ See you in the next one 😘
Smart move on not taking the risk of going from state land to private. There’s or was a drug camp there.
Man what a tough long stretch you Ms Becca😮 I would've been watching over my shoulder and 360° for that matter. Take care and stay safe. See you on your next video❤
Is your hip flexor pain a short or long term issue?
love those freckles, thanks for video!
I was thinking about you last night.Glad to see you are doing ok.
Thanks so much for taking us with you on this adventure. Love you California Joanna
Nice video. Did you notice the RVs at 03:00? That is why you never buy an RV, only rent. They are poorly constructed. A conversion van is nice and can be good enough. It sounds like you need more vitamins and minerals. I have to take potassium and magnesium or I will get leg cramps at night. Magnesium is supposed to help reduce pains too. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Such a pleasant surprise to see you are back on trail!
Thank you for your upload 💯👍⭐ Tunnels ‼ Moutains of Spain while cycle touring 🚵♂ With heavy traffic snorting behind 🚒🚛🚒🚛 The revolting smell 😵 And the very loud drone of the extract fans sturing up the dust 😷 Great times 😃 Hmm we don't have those snacks ☹ 4:25 You now look exactly like a 🐯 4:52 Just love those 🐯🐾 💖 5:18 Oh yes just the type of hard shoulder to ride a bike on especially with a cross wind momorys of Portugal !! Anon 😍😘
Another fun OCT section and video. Tunnel was interesting section. Appreciate your privacy concern. Mitigated our privacy issue with a Purple Rain skirt and dress, for both men and women. Thanks for sharing another chapter in your OCT chronicle.
You are cool as cool gets.
Fantastic walk shame about having to do all the roas bash though
I remember meeting you in Oregon coming northbound on the PCT near a particularly icy section near Mount Jefferson. I was heading southbound, happy trails 😊
Nice video. Did you find the adapter? For privacy, when necessary, a poncho can work. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Glad you’re still taking us along!
It's always good to see your beautiful smile, young lady. I didn't notice until now, you have some skinny little feet...lol... Mine are fat and real wide from too many years of walking on concrete for 40 plus years.
The view from Yaquina bridge!!! :0
Wow Becca it’s sooo peaceful with the ocean, I can see why you want to walk it. It’s a shame you have to walk on any pavement. Be safe
Pacific Taxi Services. I'm the owner. I shuttle hikers all over the Oregon Coast Trail. Call ahead I can help.
Thank you so much for posting your hikes the scenery is beautiful.
While watching your videos, I developed a bear obsession. My eyes were alert to see if there was a bear behind the bushes.
Excited to see you back! This trail is so pretty!
Having lived in Oregon most of my life, I enjoy seeing all those familiar sights through your eyes.

Major bushwacking! Love the Oregon coast. ❤😊
Enjoying your beautiful videos, and your courage in doing this! can I gently correct your use of alas? a·las- an expression of grief, pity, or concern. Safe travels.
Taggert! Taggert! You've been hurt!😊
I really enjoy your videos! You have reminded me that I want to get one of those little rearview mirrors for my glasses. Either for the road or the trail it would be an advantage, I think. Alerting to cars or critters. Lol.
Some amazing views from the cliffs.
For how money the Oregon State Park system takes in, their trail maintenance is an embarrassment to our state. I did the northern half of the OCT two summers ago, and I began to dread the trail sections after just a couple of days.
Love the sandcastles! Finding any good shells or the unicorn glass balls?
The skyline and ocean was amazing. Thanks for showing us the path you're on, instead of talking to the camera.
Wow!!! Beautiful trail!!
OCEAN sounds beautiful.
Question on logistics: how do ferry/boat rides across bays factor into this? With some, you can't really know ahead of time if a ride will be available. Do you take them if they're available, or always do the road walk alternatives, or what? It's kind of a weird situation since both alternatives are considered part of the official route. EDIT: disregard, I saw the note about this issue in your 2nd video =)
That’s a beautiful trail‼️
Make sure when you get to Langlois, just south of Bandon to have a hotdog a the general store. Best hot dog in the USA!
