    Watching Julie doing all that paddling I had memories of you making Shane do all the work on the paddleboat in Washington DC. Seriously though that was incredibly beautiful. In this world where things are moving a hundred miles a minute what a quiet peaceful place.

    I grew up there in the late 60's early 70's. We used to put in there at the bridge and go upstream. Wekiva Island was known as Wekiva Marina. We would paddle up to Indian mound. It's know as that because about 1/4 mile upstream on that same side of the cut is a large prehistoric Indian burial mound. Also if you go inland from the campsite and then angle to the NE once you get through the wooded area you'll come to the last surviving trestle from the Cross Florida Rail Road. It went from St. Augustine to Tampa in the 1800's. It's good that it's being preserved as a nature reserve and state park for all to enjoy.

      Great words, James! Thanks for sharing your insights and memories! Beautiful area... and I would have really enjoyed seeing that trestle. Fascinated by history... learning from your remarks!

    We recently moved to Orlando, FL, and somehow have never heard of Rock Springs. We've even been to Wekiva Springs so not sure how we missed it, but now we'll definitely have to visit. We've seen lots of gators paddling through Wekiva and are always surprised when we see people swimming around Wekiva island. You won't see us swimming in that water! Glad you all are enjoying the FL weather, especially when its 30 degrees back home. Cheers!

    That looked like an amazing kayaking run! You did a really excellent job filming this whole adventure! The Gators thing would probably make me nervous, but obviously, it's not a common thing for them to attack people over there. One question, though, did you guys do this as a one-way, or did you have to kayak back?

    • @AmericasParks
      @AmericasParks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Eric, only one-way. The shuttle takes you back. A little pricy, but highly recommend the outfitter: "King's Landing."

    That is a beautiful park and great photography. But there’s no way I’m paddling in the swamp with those alligators. I’ve seen too many alligators attacks on people fishing in kayaks. Kudos to y’all and I would never get in the water like you did!

    PRAISE YAH! HAPPY SABBATH! WAY TO OFTEN CHRISTIAN'S DISMISS THE LAW OF YAH AS AN OLD COVENANT. NO. THE LAW IS ALL ABOUT YAH'S LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE, JUSTAS A GOOD FATHER SETS RULES AND BOUNDERIES FOR THEIR HOUSE. IT'S ALL LOVE. YAH SHOWED ME THAT THE LAW SERVES TO KEEP US SAFE, HEALTHY, IN HARMONEY WITH THE TRUE BODY OF MESSIAH AND SET APART AS HIS OWN. NO MAN'S MASTER IS REVEALED TOTALLY BY WORDS ALONE. A MAN'S MASTER IS REVEALED BY HIS OBEDIANCE. JESUS HIMSELF SAID, Matthew 5:17-18
    King James Version17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. AND PAUL HIMSELF BEARS WITNESS. CONTRARY TO WHAT PREACHERS SAY HE BELIEVED. YOU NEVER HEAR THIS FROM THE PULPIT. ROMAN'S 3:31 New King James Version
    Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. BE BLESSED. YOU REALLY SHOULD CONCIDER THAT DEATH VALLEY HIKE. IT TAKES A LITTLE HOMEWORK
