    Thanks a lot for putting this video together, it saved me to read through endless wiki pages. One thing worth mentioning is that there is a line one has to add when using a Panel Due that wasn't necessary before... M575 P1 B57600 S1 being 57600 the baud rate of the Panel Due

    Thanks for this video! Gave me the confidence to give it a go on my Duet2 Wifi delta printer yesterday. I used the RRF configurator, referencing the values out of my RRF 2 config, and the only thing I had to add afterward was my old scaling fix for it to work exactly as before. I set up the config beforehand, and when I actually pulled the trigger and started uploading files, the whole process only took about 10 minutes! Getting fresh PID tunes to complete the process took WAY longer than the firmware updates.

    hey bro love your videos they have been the light in the darkness for me. im fairly new to 3d printing and decided to do a mainboard overhaul on my i3 mega s, the old board took a dumb and i swapped it for a BTT SKR 3 STM32H74. So, ive got everything running pretty smoothly bl touch sensor less homing with BTT TMC2209s. super excited about this build. however there have been a few hiccups, 1) i cant seem to get the bed parameters perfect prints start just a bit off center. 2) my bl touch works great for homing and the baby stepping works great but for some reason i cant see my height map and it sometimes acts as if Z is not compensating for deviants in the bed height. (ive read this could be due to my Wi-Fi firmware version (1.26) not being compatible with my rep rap firmware version(3.41)) AND 3) Sensorless homing works great for homing, however it doesn't seem like it recognizes stalls when i pause a print, when the print head moves out of the way it tries to move too far on the Y axis into the negative or maybe its just looking for 0, regardless the stepper makes a loud noise when hitting the endstop and when i resume it is way off position which i believe is from missed steps when stall detect isn't working properly. Also anytime im printing anything duet notifies me of stalls almost constantly every few seconds i have it configured to "take no action when stall is detected" while running a print so it doesent effect the print but im wondering if this is normal. ANY HELP OR FEEDBACK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! I've reached out to BTT with no response so thankyou for all the work and time you put into these videos!

    Great video, thanks. One thing I noticed in your video is the define position of lead screws function. When I originally created firmware for my machine (CoreXY, dual Z) I had to create a fake U axis for the second Z axis. So I assume I can now use that command and just specify the location of each Z lead screw?

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, but yes, you should be able to resolve that by entering the location.

    I've been dreading/putting off updating my duet 2 and duet 3 firmware... I have a RailCore with Duet2/Duex5 and a Daedalus with Duet 3 and rpi. The Daedalus has been a black box for me on what's what. But, I understand what's going on with the Railcore. They both work ok without the updated firmware versions and I have a bad feeling that if I start messing with things, it'll snowball. This makes me think it might be better if I just swap out the duet boards to ones I'm used to that run Klipper. Maybe even scavenge them for parts to make Vorons since Voron is ongoing with very good documentation. What would you do? 1) Leave them since they work? 2) Update the firmware and if they break, swap boards? 3) Use them for parts for a new printer? I will probably just leave them alone for another couple years. LOL

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At this point, I would just leave them as is. Only consider going to RRF3 if you need a Duet 3 board or some other feature only available in RRF3. It's a lot of work for just same functionality.

    I decided that it was time to update my Duet and I seem to be on the same firmware and everything as you were in this video - just two years later. But when I upload and launch the 3.0, I get this error: error: M997: In-application programming binary "iap4e.bin" not found. Not sure what to do after that, you didn't get any errors.

    • @ChrisRiley
      @ChrisRiley  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like some files are missing from the SD card. I would try to recreate the card and make sure everything is there. This is a good read. forum.duet3d.com/topic/6839/sd-card-disk-image/11

  • @JasonZnack
    @JasonZnack 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Once you were at 3.0 you could have uploaded the same full zip file for 3.1.1 and it would update everything, firmware, wifi server, and web interface if needed. No need to use the bin files, the zip file contains it all.

    i dont know about anyone else, but I've been running RRF on my SKR v1.4 with the BTT Wifi module for it and Im really struggling to find the "easiness" that people talk about so fondly when using RRF. it might just bethat I've used Marlin for so freaking long and I know that workflow but so much of the RRF documentation seems like a faff and a guess

    • @Voyager_2
      @Voyager_2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The easiness is mostly in the on-line web configuration and that you don't have to compile the complete code after every change. But when you need to do things outside the web-config the easy-thing falls apart fast. I have not used it for a while now but, when I was using it, setting op wifi true a terminal was just so antiquated. I love the hardware but I will celebrate the day Marlin runs good on this platform.
