    This is the first part of what I hope will be a 2 or 3 part series on this fish, L306. Today I give you an overview of care, and we set up the tank to encourage breeding. This made the fish hide, so there is not nearly as much fish footage as I would like. Make sure you are subscribed so you get the updates and additional footage in the coming weeks and months!

      Very nice, Rachel. I keep the LDA 031 Panaquolus albimarginatus, the mustard spotted pleco. All that you saif about your stellifers is also true for my mustards. In my community tank with Heros cichlids and several other plecos they are not shy at all. They love zucchini and cucumber and even tomatoes (all grown in my garden and therefore guaranteed without any pesticides), but also manage to get a bloodworm now and then when the others are being fed. And a lot of wood and leaf litter, especially dry brown Rhododendron! which has substance to it and are very thick. I am hoping to breed them in late winter as then they should be old enough.

      Rachel just FYI it’s not Panark ... or Panack .... Panaque is pronounced Pana-Kay ...

    I really love that you break it down step by step, show the caves you use, the placements, the wood stacks, and explain why. Then you explain diet and temps. You hide nothing, hold nothing back, you genuinely want folks to be successful breeding fish. It's one of the many things that has kept me following you and your channel from way back. So good to see you up and about and excited about projects again.

    $180 for one plus $40 for shipping on Aquabid. Get rich quick!
    I paid $7 for a tiny albino Ancistrus..and it was tiny. Striped and spotted Pleco are still rarefied air.

    Fantastic. Love the L306. Now I know where I can source them in the near future 😉 My L397’s love Repashy Morning Wood. I mix 3-4 parts morning wood to one part soilent green. They devour it. Truth, panaqolus are much more active than all my hypans (and my L134 pekoltia), which is why my L397’s are probably my favorite L number in my fish room. 👍

    At 2:23 if you're talking about Guyana, which is right above Brazil, it's pronounced Guy (as in dude, man) -ana (as in the name Anna). Rhymes with banana. I know cuz my family is from there, lol.

    Hey Rachel!! Question :-) I know WHY the water is that color... MY QUESTION IS... Is that what is called black water!? Or brackish!? AND is brackish and black water the same?! Just 1 lighter and 1 darker... ALSO do you have ANY black water tanks?
    ALSO on a whole OTHER topic... I LOVE how your face has that perfect 'dewy' look.... Your cheekbones looked like they had a BEAUTIFUL highlight glow!! Ppl pay ALOT of money in make-up to achieve that look!! RADIENTLY BEAUTIFUL AS ALWAYS LOVE!!! Xo

    • @RachelOLeary
      @RachelOLeary  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blackwater is tannin stained water, darker than this but yes from wood and leaves as well as other botanicals. Brackish water is water that has salt content but is not as concentrated as actual saltwater (sw and fw mix)
