    Appreciate you mentioning "true operating condition". It's a real consideration. It's important with other guns too. I think especially with the P320 also, because the sear drops/rotates straight down to release the sear... so the slide not being pushed up by the magazine really makes a difference (because of the slide up/down play like you mention). Can have an excellent trigger with a magazine installed... but then have a trigger that don't work at all when there is no magazine inserted.

      You are correct on all points. It's the little things that can make a difference

    Your one of the first trigger builders that I’ve seen that’s even mentioned having a magazine inserted. Your absolutely correct, the upward pressure of the mag with a round in it does affect the trigger pull. We’ll done sir.

    Hello
    I own a glock 19 gen 4. In the country I live in, there is a problem with some bullets not exploding. Bullets that have no problems in other guns do not explode in my Glock. Some mechanics told me to install a Glock OEM red needle spring. What do you recommend? Thank you.

    If you hate light strikes you're running a 6 or 6 1/2 lbs spring I love reliability, my friend has a zev 2lbs connector with a 6lbs reset spring and a reduced power safety plunger spring all together it's like 3 1/2 lbs trigger n super reliable

      Lots of ways to get to a goal. Ammo choice can play into it as well.

      You can polish OEM internals and get a 3.5lb pull if that's what you're looking for.

    Wolff could have made/designed the 5 LB striker spring much better. It’s resting length is much shorter than the Glock OEM 5.5. If I recall correctly it’s wire diameter is the same. The result is a lighter trigger due to reduced preload. The problem with that is that it loses energy faster as it reaches full extension. For example with a shorter spring at full cock it’s 5 lbs at full extension it’s 1 lb. With a longer spring with a smaller diameter the full cock could still be 5lb but the preload at full extension could be 2lb. Same peak weight more area under the curve. This results in more energy delivered to the striker.

      There was an analysis done in the CZ community regarding use of Glock striker springs in the p10c. They found that a wolff 5 lb spring although producing higher peak weights at trigger break delivered less energy in its stroke than an HBI 3.5 lb spring as the HBI spring was much longer and could sustain its spring tension over the entire stroke of the striker. I bet if you can find a company to make you a 4.5 lb spring with the longest resting length possible without coil binding at full cock it would deliver more overall energy than a Wolff 5 lb.

    How do you feel about the blue spring maritime cups? The ones that allow you to fire under water and stuff, I herd a lotta people DON’T like them for some reason, but if I had one I’d LOVE to no that it could shoot under water haha, even though probably NEVER would but just wondering a professionals point of view on them

    • @tacticalpontoon
      @tacticalpontoon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      While I can't say that it is going to allow you to go John Wick under water, they work just fine and you will find that most modern striker fired guns use a similar design. I use them in my builds without issue

    What connector and striker spring weight do you recommend with your Tactical Pontoon trigger for a crisp 4-5lb break that is still reliable?

    • @tacticalpontoon
      @tacticalpontoon  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @johnp1839 just my trigger shoe? The Peacemaker 4.0 system is a 4lb break and comes with a connector and striker spring, leave out the striker spring and it is a 4.5-5lb break.

    Can I ask you which pound spring you personally use in your Glock?? My buddy has a Glock and wants to change the striker spring because he’s getting light strikes 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ what would you recommend?? It’s a polymer 80 with everything OEM

    • @tacticalpontoon
      @tacticalpontoon  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Let's put it this way, your striker spring choice should be based on what ammo you plan on using.....you want to just use cheap ammo, never go lighter than 5lbs (and even then it might be too light for crap primers)
      I normally don't recommend any lower than 5lbs for most applications and is the most common in my builds. 4.5lbs is for a range toy with quality ammo and perhaps a lightweight striker.

    Is a 6.5 spring to strong?? And if you change to a 6.5 spring do you also have to change the trigger spring?? Sorry I’m just asking for a friend = I don’t no much

    • @tacticalpontoon
      @tacticalpontoon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Factory is a 5.5lb, so 6.5 is a pretty measurable hump and will make for a very noticeable increase in trigger weight. A 6lb trigger spring will help tame it a bit, but it's not absolutely necessary for function.

    At the risk of sounding like a jerk... It surprises me that people build guns not knowing how they work. Just hope that in building them that they learn how they work. (Can't know until you learn). It's just not something you want to mess with if you don't know what you're doing. Good to learn in advance and then do your own modifications/builds when you think you're sufficiently educated (or have a professional do the work if you can afford it).

      I'd say most poeple don't carry their p80s but build and learn with them.. Then go on to carry stock glocks

    • @deucedeuce1572
      @deucedeuce1572 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tigerag29607 Maybe. Many I know actually carry their P80's though and don't own any stock Glocks. Can't say if it's a majority or not, but a lot of people that build P80's do it, so they don't have to go through the BS of having to buy an FFL firearm. They're just not the people you see on youtube making videos about them. They just exercise the Right to bear arms like it was meant to be exercised, without permission of approval.

      @@deucedeuce1572 I've only known one person to carry their p80 tbh. That being says I haven't taken a survey, just personal experience. Atleast glocks have like 4 safety measures... Long as they don't go too far with tuning (hopefully the understand safeties before doing this) lol.

    • @deucedeuce1572
      @deucedeuce1572 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tigerag29607 True true. Not a hard gun to understand. As long as you understand the safeties and test for function and safety, there's no more risk in carrying a P80 compared to an OEM Glock. (People even make OEM Glocks unsafe with tuning like that).
